Chapter 108: When Ninjas Encounter the Holy Grail War
Hyūga Clan Compound.
The young girl Hinata carefully nestled close to the side of the young girl Sakura.
Even though this was her home, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
"Sakura! Hinata! You're here too!"
As he spoke, the young Naruto sat down beside Sakura.
"Naruto, you're here too?!" Seeing another familiar face, Sakura exclaimed with surprise and delight. Beside her, Hinata gave a barely audible greeting like a buzzing mosquito, but Naruto didn't hear her at all—his full attention was fixed on Sakura.
"Father-in-law."
"Dad."
Following closely behind were Naruto and Hinata, along with Shikamaru, the Jar Merchant, Sasuke, and Sakura, plus Boruto, Himawari, and Sarada, all of whom were participating in the Holy Grail War.
Despite so many people gathered in one room, the space still felt empty.
"Lord Hokage."
Hyūga Hiashi greeted Naruto respectfully. Although Naruto was his son-in-law, in such a formal setting, Hiashi didn't treat him as casually as in daily conversation.
"Hokage…"
Young Sakura murmured as she looked toward adult Naruto, who smiled and waved at her.
After giving a brief response, young Sakura turned to the Naruto beside her and asked, "Naruto, what's going on? Who is that person? I've never seen him before."
"Sakura, we've actually arrived in the future version of the Hidden Leaf Village."
"The future?" Sakura tilted her head in confusion—how had they ended up in the future?
"Yup yup! And in the future, I actually became the Hokage!"
Naruto said proudly.
"Hokage? You?" Sakura expressed her doubts.
Just then, a little girl suddenly hugged young Naruto from behind.
"Himawari, don't make a fuss," young Naruto said with a smile.
For some reason, Himawari really liked the younger version of Naruto. Unlike Boruto, Himawari had no problem calling young Naruto "Dad." According to her, "Daddy feels warm and cozy. It's really comfortable being next to him."
Seeing Himawari acting so affectionately with young Naruto, Hinata froze—I was here first!
"Hm?" Himawari finally noticed the young Hinata sitting nearby. After a careful look, she rushed over and hugged her. "Mommy!"
"Eh?"
Not only did young Hinata cry out in surprise, but even Sakura gasped.
"You… You're Hinata's daughter?" Sakura asked.
"Yup yup." Himawari nodded and then took young Hinata's hand, sandwiching her between Sakura and young Naruto. "Mommy and Daddy should sit together."
"Mommy?" Hinata pointed at herself, then at young Naruto. "Daddy?"
After Himawari nodded affirmatively, Hinata's face suddenly turned bright red. She swayed unsteadily and fainted right into young Naruto's arms.
"Hey, hey! Hinata, are you okay?"
Naruto asked in alarm, holding the unconscious girl. The sudden commotion naturally drew the attention of the adults.
"You haven't changed a bit, Sis," Hanabi said with a smile.
Hinata just smiled and led Boruto over to young Hinata.
"Leave her to me," said Sakura, while Sarada and Boruto stood to the side observing young Sakura.
"What about me? What about me? Who do I marry in the future?" Once she saw Hinata was fine, Sakura eagerly grabbed Himawari's hand and asked.
"Of course, Sasuke," Himawari replied after frowning in thought.
While she was thinking, adult Sakura, who was tending to the unconscious Hinata, laughed and answered instead.
Young Sakura raised one hand and let out a cheerful "Yay!" But then she suddenly froze and looked at the adult Sakura treating Hinata. "Wait a second, does that mean… you're the grown-up me? Now that you mention it, you really do look a bit like me."
Adult Sakura smiled and nodded.
"In that case…" Young Sakura turned her gaze to the only one-handed but by far the most handsome man among the five standing at the front. "That must be Sasuke."
"Correct. And this girl here is our daughter, Sarada."
"Daughter…" Young Sakura looked over at Sarada, but what popped into her head were all the unspeakable, age-inappropriate scenarios between her and Sasuke that couldn't be shown in a family-friendly setting.
"Hey, Mom, are you okay? Why is your face turning red too?" Sarada looked at her with concern.
"Don't worry, Sarada. She's fine," adult Sakura said awkwardly.
No one knew herself better than she did, and adult Sakura naturally understood the reason behind young Sakura's blushing. Honestly, this might be the only thing capable of making her younger self blush that badly.
At this point, young Hinata slowly regained consciousness.
"Are you alright, Mom?"
In front of young Hinata stood not only Himawari but also Boruto.
"Mom… has two kids… and they both look just like Naruto…" young Hinata muttered before fainting again.
"Hard to believe how shy Mom was as a kid," Boruto said as he looked at her fainted form.
Watching the women and children quickly become familiar with each other, Hyūga Hiashi first chuckled, but then his face turned serious.
"Lord Hokage, what exactly is going on here?"
"About that… I'll let the Jar Merchant explain," Naruto said, turning toward the man beside him.
The Jar Merchant paused for a moment in thought, organized his words, and then began speaking. One after another, he mentioned terms that none of them had ever heard before—the Holy Grail that could grant any wish, the Holy Grail War sparked by the struggle to obtain it, the summoned Servants who participate in the war…
His words caused everyone's expression to grow grim as a heavy atmosphere settled over the room.
"A Holy Grail War… and you're relying on those kids?"
Hiashi looked at the young Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata, and shook his head in disappointment.
At this stage, Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata didn't yet have the strength they'd attain as adults. Each of them was still wrapped up in a messy tangle of "I love you, you love her, she loves him" emotional drama.
"This isn't the time for disappointment. What we should do now is focus on rapidly improving these three's strength to ensure we win the Holy Grail War," Shikamaru said.
"Even if we can't win, at the very least, we need to destroy the Grail," the Jar Merchant quickly followed up after Sasuke.
The Holy Grail had to be destroyed—Shunhi didn't actually have a real Holy Grail to present, and even if he did, he'd never be willing to part with it.
