Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR: NOTHING BUT A GOLD DIGGER

Kendall stood before the mirror, her gaze sweeping over her reflection with a mixture of admiration and disbelief. The dress that Mrs. Pierce had gifted her was a breathtaking silvery white, shimmering delicately in the soft light of the room. The design possessed a vintage aesthetic, reminiscent of glamorous eras gone by, showcasing intricate lace details and flowing fabric that gracefully hugged her curves. To complete her ensemble, she adorned herself with exquisite diamond jewelry that sparkled brilliantly, catching the light with every slight movement she made. The pair of elegant shoes she wore added just the right touch of sophistication, elevating her height and poise.

As Kendall admired how the makeup perfectly accented her features, enhancing her cheekbones and bringing out the natural glow of her skin, she took a moment to appreciate the artistry of her hairstyle. The carefully arranged locks framed her face beautifully, highlighting her expressive eyes and the delicate contours of her jawline. It was a look that seemed to transform her into a vision of elegance.

In the background, Aliyah observed her friend, unable to suppress the giddiness that bubbled within her. Her cheeks flushed a rosy hue, akin to the exhilaration one feels upon discovering they've struck gold—like she had just won a life-changing lottery. The sight of Kendall radiating such beauty filled her with joy, and Aliyah couldn't help but feel pride for her friend at that moment, as if they were both stepping into a fairy tale together.

""Mrs. Pierce, you're absolutely stunning!" she jokingly remarked, causing Kendall's cheeks to flush a vivid shade of red.

"Oh, look at you, all rosy!" Aliyah noticed with a playful smirk.

"I'm not blushing; it's just the makeup," she quickly refuted.

"Sure… the makeup…" Aliyah was about to continue when a voice cut in.

"Miss McCoy, the driver has arrived," the voice declared.

"We'll be down shortly," Aliyah responded, swinging the door open for one last look at Kendall.

"Simply perfect," she added with a grin.

Kendall entered the hall with a sense of anxiety, and immediately she became the center of attention. The atmosphere buzzed with chatter as people commented on various aspects of her appearance—her dress, her striking facial features, and her graceful presence. It seemed that everyone had an opinion to share.

"Kendall sat quietly on her adorned cushion, facing the crowd. Aliyah had gone to check the place out, left alone her anxiety grew. Her occupied mind was soon cleared when the hall roared with chattering again. It was Aston and his relatives. Kendall tried but she couldnt take her eyes off them. Aston walked over and sat next to her, she moved slightly showing discomfort. Aston took one glance at her as she rubbed her palms together in anxiety

""Is it chilly in here?" Aston asked softly, leaning in closer to her, his breath creating a gentle warmth against the cool air that enveloped them.

"Huh?" she exclaimed, suddenly alert, her heart racing as she jolted slightly at his voice.

"You look... cold," he remarked, his gaze fixed on her with an intensity that made her momentarily forget the freezing temperatures around them.

"No, I'm not..." she replied, her voice trailing off as she tried to dismiss the feeling. He remained quiet, turning his attention back to the front, a thoughtful look etched on his face, choosing not to press her further.

Kendall couldn't resist stealing glances at him from the corner of her eye. Despite the intense situation they found themselves in, he didn't seem like the ruthless person she had built in her mind. Instead, Aston appeared gentle, his demeanor calm amidst the chaos that surrounded them. The atmosphere shifted as the wedding officiant made his entrance, and the ceremony officially began, sweeping them into an environment thick with anticipation.

As they stood there, Kendall found herself stuttering her way through the entire process. Nervousness coursed through her, making her palms sweaty and shaky as she desperately tried to focus. Aliyah, standing steadfastly by her side, leaned in close to her, whispering comforting words—little affirmations meant to soothe her nerves and remind her of the love that filled the air, even in the midst of her anxiety.

Time seemed to stretch on indefinitely. Each moment felt like an eternity until, finally, they reached the culmination of the ceremony: the ritual of the kiss. As the officiant announced this pivotal moment, Kendall instinctively took a step back, her uncertainty flooding her mind. Doubts crept in, leaving her questioning whether she was truly ready for this next step. Would it really bring the joy everyone talked about, or was she stepping off a precipice without a clear landing in sight?

"Should i just run away??" she asked herself. Aston smirked and moved closer. He grabbed her waist and pulled her in, about to kiss her when Vanessa walked in with Kaido, hands locked as they marched in confidently like it was their wedding. Kendall stood there, dumbfounded. So this was it all along??, it was Vanessa?.

"Hey sis" Vanessa said casually, like she was unaware of what she was doing "Love your dress, must be worth a fortune, but no matter how expensive it is you cant pull it off anyway" she said and cackled. She turned to look as Aston and she froze in place. "This man is gorgeous" she thought, oblivious of his dirty look

" Is it okay if I run away?" Aston smirked as he moved closer. He grasped her waist and pulled her in, ready to kiss her, when Vanessa and Kaido marched in with confidence like it was their wedding. Kendall stood in disbelief. Was this the case all along? , it was Vanessa?.

"Hey sis" Vanessa said casually, like she was unaware of what she was doing "Love your dress, must be worth a fortune, but no matter how expensive it is you can't pull it off anyway," she said and cackled. She stopped dead in her tracks when she glanced at Aston. She thought, oblivious to his burning gaze that this man was gorgeous.

"Vanessa what are you doing??" Kendall asked as she left Astons grip

"Im only stating facts, after all this may be the last time ill see my baby sis right??"

The hall grew silent. Aston clenched his jaw, his disgust vividly present on his face

"Who are you??" he asked, Vanessa was about to open her big mouth when her mom stepped in

"Mr Pierce, my apologies" she said with a forced bow as she dragged Vanessa away. The hall grew noisy by the minute as everyone struggled to find out who Vanessa was.

The wedding came to a close harmoniously, besides the Vanessa saga. Aston and Kendall got into the buick and rode off to his villa. Kendall was stunned. How could a 25 year old bachelor live in this estate all by himself? . How lonely did he get?? .

She glanced at him, her cheeks flushed

"What now??" he asked looking forward. She quickly looked away from him

"Nothing" she said

"Isnt my money enough for you?" he fired

"What do you mean?"

"I heard the first daughter of the family was an extravagant ass spender" he scoffed, she slowly tilted her head to look at him

"First daughter??" she muttered, so Vanessa was supposed to marry him?

"Im not after your money" she lied, avoiding his eyes.

Aston looked at her, this wasn't what he heard, she was supposed to be vulgar, spoilt and rude. He crowned it up as an act and she was nothing but a gold digger.

Aston scanned his finger on the done knob and the door opened automatically.

"Ill get your finger print and face on the system tomorrow" he said as they walked in

"Idris!!" he called out. A lady ran out of the kitchen with an apron, she bowed to Kendall and Aston

"Show her to her room, get her fresh clothes and cook dinner for her" he ordered before storming up the stairs

" Hi, I'm Kendall McCoy"

"Idris" she bowed, leading her up the stairs. She stopped when she got to a room in the gigantic hallway.

"Your bedroom madam, your night dress is in the dresser" she said as she opened the door, Kendall gave a little nod and walked in as Idris left, closing the door.

She walked towards the vanity mirror and slowly took the wedding dress off. She explored her body in front of her reflection and smiled before walking into the bathroom to have a warm bath.
