He had been standing there for minutes now, lost in deep thoughts, so much that he didn't even notice when Daniel arrived—until a soft tap on his shoulder pulled him back to reality.
"Are you not coming for the tutorial again?" Daniel asked, his voice gentle but teasing. He was already prepared, eager to help Draven than usual. He looked bright that morning, full of energy and ready to make the day count.
Draven didn't respond immediately. He stuttered a few words and shifted backward.
"I'm coming... of course, I wouldn't miss it." He forced a smile, one that didn't reach his eyes.
Daniel, however, didn't need a soothsayer to know something was terribly wrong. The ever-chatty Draven now looked gloomy, withdrawn. Something must have happened.
"Are you okay? Is everything alright?" Daniel asked softly, stepping closer, trying to feel his temperature. But Draven took another step back.
