Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: 2nd Otherworlder part 2

Walking toward the adventurer guild, Adrian found himself walking in one direction, opposite the direction the black armored man took.

Although he was confused and wanted to ask, Adrian couldn't help but let his body do its thing, and let himself be moved with the wind.

Adrian couldn't help but think of the moment he had watched those anime where the Main character moved towards the adventurer guild.

Which he is now doing, as if the world itself got tired of people like him, being confused where to go, so the world decided to guide his body to where it needs to go.

Turning around in a corner, Adrian entered a bustling street filled with shops. When he moved in, he heard carriages rattling past, carrying merchants, adventurers, and travelers from across the continent.

He noticed a group of adventurers walking down the road. What caught his attention was their lineup: an archer, a swordswoman, a healer, a support, and a mage—all of whom were women.

Looking at them, Adrian wanted to take a photo with them, but knowing his phone was not with him, he gave up.

Instead, he moved in the opposite direction from where the adventurers are walking out. If they are going to the South to leave the town, then the adventurer guild should be in the North.

After ten minutes of walking, Adrian met a three-story building with a giant shield embedded in the middle of it.

Below the shield, an open double door is set, from the view outside the door, receptionists are dealing with the adventurers.

"So this is the adventurer guild... It looks amazing." Adrian couldn't help but admire the looks of the building itself, gazing at it for a minute, Adrian noticed a ripple of waves leaving the giant shield.

"Is that an artifact?" Adrian questions seeing an energy from the shield. The shield on the adventurer guild is an item obtained by clearing a 100-floor dungeon within a month.

It is said that the one who did this is the current master of the guild itself. The shield gives a permanent buff to the people who register as adventurers to this very guild.

It doesn't just give a buff to the adventurer but also supports the town with an indestructible barrier that separates the people inside from the monsters beyond the wall.

Making the guild the center and the most important building of the town.

Adrian took a breath before moving inside the guild. He looks around, seeing all kinds of people, from dwarves, elves, humans, beast people, and many more. Each with their own attire that differentiates them from their class.

Looking at the beast people, Adrian spotted something he admired. "Is she a bunny girl!?"

He thought to himself, looking at the giant bunny ears on the table. Shifting his gaze in another direction, he spotted the weaponry of the adventurers.

"Sword, Axe, Spears, Lance, and Daggers warriors. Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth mages. Carriers, support, Archers, Alchemist, and Shield warrior. Some people seem to have a non-combatant class too."

Looking at them, Adrian wondered what his class could be, but stopped since he was the next person to register already.

The moment he stepped in front of the female receptionist, he was greeted with a charming smile and a soft voice by a red-haired elf.

"Well then, what can I do for you today, sir?" The red-haired female receptionist asked Adrian.

"I like to be applied as one," Adrian responds messily, due to his nervousness.

The receptionist blinked twice at Adrian before grabbing a paper from her desk and giving it to him.

"Can you read and write, if not, please hand it back to me." The receptionist asked.

Adrian looked at the paper before him, unable to understand the language written on it. A second later, the letters began to shake and then turn into the English letters.

Adrian looked up and saw the receptionist waiting for him with a smile. Seeing this, he wrote his name, age, and gender. A second later, the receptionist talked.

"It seems like you can write and read, though you need a bit of time to do it. So please move to the table over there and fill it out first and give it to me later on." The receptionist said smiling while pointing at the table.

Without saying a word, Adrian moved out of the line and sat at the table, finally having time to fully read the paper and fill it out.

Letting out a sigh, Adrian felt relieved away from the sight of the beautiful elf lady; finally, he could take his time to read the paper before him.

The paper consists of basic information Adrian can do without a problem, though one question doesn't make sense to Adrian.

The questions being asked on the adventurer sheet were: name, age, class, gender, level, hair, eyes, skills, and type.

Though Adrian understands all of them, he didn't understand what the 'type' would be, leaving it aside when he gave it back to the receptionist.

As Adrian filled out the paperwork, the receptionist watched him quietly at her table.

From Adrian's point of view, he thinks that no one in this world knows their existence.

But unbeknownst to him, some in this world knew their arrival in this place, of which the elf is one of these people.

"So that's one of the people this round. Kid, if you're trying to blend with the people in another world, you should have leveled up a bit." She remembered the status of Adrian when she blinked twice before him.

"Did you really think everyone starts off as level one when they become an adventurer?" The elf sighed and fixed her posture as Adrian moved toward her.

Adrian stood still before handing out the paper to the elf, looking at her. Adrian cleared his throat, then asked. "What do I need to put in the 'type' section?"

"Type section. Please put what you're fighting style is, whether you're a ranged type or a close-combat type." She paused for a bit and made a wand and a sword image with her mana in the air.

"This way, when we need to make a temporary team for you to join, we will know what type of team we can assign you to. Please just put either fighter or ranged on it"

Hearing the explanation, Adrian took his time to think whether he was a ranged or a closed-combat type. After some thinking, Adrian ultimately chose a fighter.

"Let's see, alright this would be all. Then please give me a sec, I just need to grab something." The elf said, standing up then bending over to grab a metallic box, below her.

"Then please put your finger on that tiny hole." The elf instructed pointing at the tiny hole in front of the box. Looking at the box, Adrian hesitated; just the look of the box seemed like a cursed item of such.

"Please don't worry, we only want a drop of your blood so we can give the buff of our guild to you. The moment you place your finger in, you'll feel a peck and your adventurer card will be made. So please don't hesitate now."

"Is that so, then sorry for the trouble," Adrian responded as he placed his finger in. Like how the elf said, he felt a peck on his finger, leaving a tingling sensation.

As soon as he pulled out his finger, the elf looked at the sheet Adrian gave back and signed it at the bottom.

After signing her signature on it, she placed the paper at the top of the box, then it began to work like a shredder.

A minute later, a plate made of an unknown metal appeared on the side of the elf.

She picked it up and whispered something at the plate, with a flash of light a notification appeared from Adrian's side.

"Here you go, Sir. You are now officially an adventurer to our guild, if you're wondering about the buff I said earlier, please look at your status window." She instructed.

"Don't worry about the details on the plate. It would only last for a month, then it would only show minor details from then."

Hearing her words, Adrian flipped the plate to his side. Looking at the details he had written before, he sighed and felt relieved.

|Adventurer plate. Name: Adrian. Age: 19. Class: All master. Gender: Male. Level: 1. Rank: F. Hair: Black. Eyes: Black. Skills: Appraisal. Type: Fighter|

"Too many details." Adrian thought, looking at the compressed information on the plate.

After paying two silver coins to the receptionist, Adrian was told to look at the quest board to start his adventurer life.

Adrian couldn't help but thank the man before for giving him some money. Though he received some care from that God, they weren't really useful that much.

Only the 'Identification card' showed its worth when the elf lady requested it. Besides the ID and the sphere he had before, Adrian's item box was filled with all kinds of useless junk to him.

"Let's see what quest I can take as an F-rank," Adrian murmured as he looked at the F-rank quest board before him.

On the board, all kinds of weak monster subjugation were posted, from giant sewer rats to goblins.

"Are goblins that strong in this world?" Adrian's question, seeing how the goblin quest was the highest rank in the board before him, while the lowest was the sewer rat.

"You don't know? Goblins are strong; they cause the death of most rookies like us." A voice appeared on his side.

Turning where the voice came from, Adrian's gaze fell upon a half-naked man with an Axe on his back.

Looking at the well-built muscles and high height of the man, Adrian concluded that the man was a barbarian.

"First time seeing a barbarian like me?" The man asked giving out his hand to Adrian.

"Yes... If I'm being honest." Adrian responded, shaking the man's hand.

"I see, I see, then this is probably the first time you met a quiet barbarian like me right? Most people who met me before think I'm the type of barbarian who's loud and screams non-stop, but after spending time with me, they realize I'm the type of person who won't stop talking."

The barbarian cleared his throat and then introduced himself realizing how much time he was taking.

"Anyway, my name is Stren, just Stren. It might be obvious, but my name is based on the word 'Strength'."

'He wasn't joking about the non-stop talking part' Adrian thought.

"My name is Adrian. Anyway, what quest will you be doing?" Adrian questions Stren, seeing how he's in the same position as him.

"Isn't that obvious?" Stren said with a smirk on his face, grabbing a paper from the board. "A sewer rat quest..."

"Huh? Not goblins?"

"No way. I'm taking on those green creatures, didn't I tell you those guys are the cause of the death of us rookies? I may be a barbarian, but I'm no fool, besides, I'm not even level 10 yet." Stren said, turning his back on Adrian, leaving the guild.

Looking at him, Adrian quickly plucked out the same quest Stren took, and ran towards him.

"Wait up, how about we make a temporary team just today so we live the next day," Adrian said as he walked beside Stren.

"Are you sure about this? Being with a barbarian like me will make a bad reputation for someone like you. Not just that the amount of exp you'll get will be random too." Stren said giving a vial bottle to Adrian.

Taking the vial bottle and putting it in his pocket, Adrian responded.

"Who cares about that, you made the first move on that conversation of ours, so I think we'll make a great team."

Adrian called out his status and pressed something on it. The next second, a notification appeared on Stren's face asking him if he wanted to team up with Adrian. Without hesitation, Stren pressed the yes option on it.

"Let's go!" The two said as they moved to the East gate.

Since Stren himself decided to take on the sewer rat quest, Adrian realized that taking on anything other than that might be dangerous to him.

For Stren, whose level is definitely not level 1, and still chose the lowest difficulty, even though he's a barbarian. Adrian decided not to play with his life early on.

With someone helping him take on the quest too, Adrian can safely level up and raise his strength and most of all, having a companion who is easy to communicate with is better than he could have thought of.

***

"Adrian duck!" Stren screamed, swinging his large axe toward the incoming attack from a rat.

As the smooth part of the axe hit the rat away, Adrian stood still in his position surprised by the sudden attack from it.

Adrian finally realized that even the lowest difficulty quest can put his life in danger. Without Stren with him, that rat would have successfully attacked him.

"Thanks," Adrian said to Stren grabbing his hand to stand up.

"Careful, I heard from the people living in this town, that some adventurer died while fighting these rats here."

"Died! Shit give me a second then." Adrian said calling out his item box before Stren. Grabbing the sphere that replaced the 'random item card' before, Adrian pulled it out from inside.

"Well then, what even are you?" Adrian questions as the two of them stare at the sphere.

"A magic orb?"

"Definitely not."

"Then a magical essence sphere that can explode with mana infused with it?"

"I don't think so?"

"A cannonball?"

"That doesn't make sense."

"Then what is it?" Stren asked, running out of options, what the sphere could be.

Suddenly, two large rats appeared in front of the two. Looking at them, Stren grabbed the sphere in Adrian's hand and rolled it out towards the rats like a bowling ball, crushing one of them to death.

"I feel bad. If only I had a sword or something," Adrian thought as Stren ran after the other rat. As Stren crushed the rat to death, the sphere suddenly transformed into a short sword before them.

"Sphere of a thousand form!" Stren suddenly screamed out.

"What?"

"Sphere of a thousand form. A mythical item I heard only in tales in my home. It was said to only appear in one human lifetime. Like its name suggests, it has a thousand forms it can take on."

Pulling out a gem on the crush rat, he picked up the blade at the sharp end and gave it to Adrian.

"Quick, let yourself get cut from it and drop a blood on the handle. Only by doing so can you take full ownership of it." Stren said letting go of the blade.

Looking at Stren waiting for him to act, Adrian willingly let himself get cut on the fingertip and drop blood on the blade, creating a light before them.

As the light went out, multiple notifications appeared on Adrian's face.

[The class: All master have fully awakened.]

[The item: Sphere of a thousand forms, has heard your calling and accepted you as its master.]

[ The title: Prodigy is synchronizing with the two.]

[A new Title has awakened in you, named: The Man who's gifted by the world.]

[The Man who's gifted by the world - a title befitting for someone who has the All master class, sphere of a thousand form items, and Prodigy title.

-

Effects:

‹‹ Each time you change the form of your item, you'll temporarily gain a skill appropriate to this weapon. -Item ››

‹‹ Each time you gain a skill, the level will automatically be at level 5. -Title ››

‹‹ Each time you hold a weapon, you're understanding and proficiency on it will be the same level as someone who has used it for months. -Class ›› ]

"What the hell is this?" Adrian couldn't believe his eyes, looking at the windows before him, he questioned whether they were true to their words.

Without wasting any moment, Adrian returned the form of the item to the sphere and thought of a mage staff he saw back in the guild.

[Item: Magic staff. Skill given: Fire bolt, level 5.]

Staring at the notification before him, Adrian looked at Stren, whose face was glimmering in shock and excitement at what was happening before them.

The two didn't say a word but both knew what they needed to do now. So they ran further in the sewer, crushing, slicing, and shooting the rats apart with their skill.

The two enjoy killing the rats without a problem, and before they knew it, they had spent the entire day inside the sewer and leveled up significantly.

***

The two were sitting on the side of the entryway of the sewer, gasping for air and resting their tired body.

The moment they found themselves surrounded by the system notifications, they quickly lost all rationality and started hunting the rats.

Thanks to that, the two have leveled up quite nicely. Though they have all lost all their energy for the next week completely.

[Name: Adrian. Class: All Master. Level: 12]

[Name: Stren. Class: Axed warrior. Level: 18]

"Stren, you in there? I can't open my eyelids now." Adrian said swinging his hands in the air.

"Yes, I'm here, me too. I can't open or move any of my muscles anymore." Stren replied.

"Jesus, if it weren't for that vial bottle you gave before, we wouldn't be able to leave this place!" Adrian paused for a bit to breathe. "To think we got lost inside, due to our carelessness."

'Jesus? Who's that?'. Stren thought before answering

"You're right, to think we got lost in there... But I think that's the last thing we should be worried about."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Adrian question.

"Idiot, you don't realize? We practically killed every single one of the rats in here. Even the 3-meter-tall ones. Look at your item box and it's full of their core." Stren said, letting out a sigh.

Calling out his item box, Adrian saw a large amount of gems in it.

Each gem progressively gets bigger, with different colors of Green, Blue, and Red.

Some have a mix ,of colors of Orange, Purple, and Gray.

'Why do some of them have mixed-up colors?'.

"Stren, you still in there?" Adrian called out only to hear a snoring sound.

Hearing him snore, Adrian couldn't help but let himself fall asleep as well.
