"It is a trap," Alpha Eric's Shaman warned him. Alpha Eric looked at his Shaman and then back at me.
"I promise you it is not a trap," I said, making my first vampire promise.
"Khimar, we know one of the many spells over you protects you from the vampire promise."
"Actually, the spells didn't transfer to me. You see, the name chanting stopped the moment I killed him," I explained, but it was clear they didn't believe me. However, there was something about Alpha Eric that told me that if his Shaman were not present, he would have been latching onto me, drinking, getting answers, getting the truth.
"Can't you, as a Shaman, see there are no spells over me?" I spat in frustration.
"That doesn't mean you are not using magic right now," the Shaman countered.
"I don't know how to use his magic yet," I hissed.
"Tell me something only Lumin would know," Alpha Eric suggested.
