Elias woke up slowly the next morning. His body was aching from yesterday's ride, baking and a small quarrel with Viktor. He stared at the window as the sunlight slanted through the blinds, warming the sheets.
Elias slipped out of bed carefully as he stretched his hand. He yawned and placed a hand on his chest, hoping that everything that had happened yesterday was a dream, but it was reality.
He shook his head and slapped his cheek twice.
'Come on, Elias. Don't start your day thinking about him.'
He grabbed a hoodie and headed downstairs. The kitchen was spotless and empty, even after the mess he had created the day before while baking. Baking was fun until it was time to clean up the used dishes. He smiled as he saw that the silver stand was empty. Everyone finished the cake, and he didn't even get to enjoy it yesterday. At least, Lila's birthday was celebrated.
