Luke grunted as he shoved the staff away. "Whatever ".
He grabbed a healing pill from his pocket, popping it into his mouth as his wounds began to rapidly heal.
"Think we should have told them about the healing pills?"Luke asked
"If we did, we might not be able to use it like this whenever you lose. "
"What do you mean whenever 'I' lose?"
Luck gave his brother a sidelong glance "When was the last time I did?"
"Yesterday!"
He shrugged "Fair. I've only lost twice though ".
"Just shut up"Luke muttered sullenly.
Luck waved his hand in dismissal "We've been training our physical state for a week now". He sat on a nearby rock "We haven't even touched our magic ".
Luke raised a brow in question "If it was that easy, I would been doing that a long time ago ".
Luck shook his head "I think there's another way. " Seeing, Luke was about to ask, he added "I'll tell you after we check our skills to confirm.

"Although, we can't see it,don't you feel you're more attuned with your skill set?"

"Skills can be evolved through two ways;One is the common knowledge that skills slowly evolve through regular use. It's more common as it requires less brain power for the masses.
The second is Comprehension. This method actually requires you to study your skill until you know it from inside out. "
Like absorbed all this information before he said "So how do we comprehend? Uwaaaaaaaa!"
Luke wailed in pain as Luck's staff slammed onto his head.
"Idiot "Luck muttered with a sigh "When you modified Fireball what do you think you were doing?"
Luke shrugged "I never thought about it that way ".
"That because you don't think at all "Luck replied under his breath.
Unfortunately, Luke hearing had been greatly evolved, allowing him to pick up what his brother was saying causing his eye to twitch .
"So why are you telling me all this like an old man."he said as he sat on the grass lotus position
It was Luck's eye that twitched this time.In the end, he joined his brother on the ground.
He suddenly opened his grimoire as he began to peer into it, making Luke scratch his head in confusion.
"What you doin'"
"Setting my soul book so it informs me when I achieve something significant. He glanced at his brother as he casually added "You should too".
With that, he closed his soul book and eyes and in time, entered a meditative state.
All he could see was total darkness as he began to circulate mana throughout his body.
To the unawakened, it would have looked like he was just wasting mana, but to Luck, it was worth it.
He started to circulate it more rapidly, allowing it to wash over his internal system. He then suddenly began to trace it back to its source.
(Found it).
The origin point was the newly added organ in Luck's body;his mana core.
(My core's black)Luck thought as he observed the spherical object that hardly looked like it was made of flesh and blood.
He was partly correct though. His mana core was a mixture of black and grey colours that swirled endlessly like an ouroboros.
(Black must be my Shadow affinity while Grey represents Death).
An idea suddenly popped into his head as he began to circulate minimal amounts of mana throughout his body increasing it each time he breathed.
His heart began to beat rapidly causing more blood to be pumped throughout his body, making his body and organs work overtime.
One by one, he connected his internal systems to this cycle until he reached the nervous system, slowly making his way to the brain.
Upon getting there, he made brain assimilate mana, allowing it to seep into its soft tissues.
A strong pull suddenly took over his non-corpeal existence as he was drawn into his brain.
He found himself floating over a black ocean. Everywhere he looked, all he could see was darkness.
Except for one place where a black orb floated inconspicuously.
(So this is my sea of consciousness)Luck thought as he began to walk (or float?)towards the orb.
(I need it wouldn't be bright but this...)His mind looked more like that of an empty serial killer than a teenager .
(My soul's isn't that colourful either). He shrugged as he began3to turn away.
To his surprise, his hand was quickly raised over his soul as it began to pour mana into it.
"Aghhhhhhhhhh!!"
Luck shrieked as pain assaulted his senses as his soul began to siphon his energy.
He tried to stop but it didn't allow it as he had already removed his arm but his soul was still suctioning of mana.
His hands moved on their own again making signs that Luck didn't recognize.
At first.
"Gates of the Abyss "Luck whispered in fear as he watch countless purple runes appear all around his soul.
At the very center was a black rune whose symbols were more intricate than the others.
No light shined from them.
At least not yet.
(Fuck) Luck thought as the runes swiftly began to glow one by one until the black one also joined, shining brightly despite its colour.
They slowly began to rotate as in groups they entered his soul.
The black one though, encased his soul like a ring.
Hos soul suddenly glowed brightly as Luck screamed once again in pain.
Then it was all black.
