Hazel was awestruck at the sight before her. The room was spacious, featuring elegant and well organized furniture with impressive artworks. The view near the glass windows is breathtaking.
Hazel walked towards Aspen who was standing by the window, and was busy on a call. His voice is low and smooth on the phone. Hazel Waited for the other to finish the call while she started gazing at the man's features.
His brunette hair was perfectly trimmed, and the tailored navy suit hung perfectly on his broad shoulders and muscular back. The Rolex watch gleamed on his wrist as he slipped his hand into the pocket of his dark trousers that enhanced his slim waist.
After a few minutes, the call ended. Aspen turned back and saw an unfamiliar face.
His expression turned stern, eyes narrowing slightly as he asked "if you are done admiring me, then give me the file I asked to bring." Came his voice with a hint of impatience.
Hazel's cheeks flushed with embarrassment but she stood firm. She handed over the file - "HERE"
Her eyes, meeting Aspen's with a hint of defiance.
"Wait." Aspen spoke making Hazel stop midway as she was about to leave.
Hazel turned back with questionable eyes.
"Who are you?" Aspen inquired as he found her, unfamiliar in his team.
"I'm Hazel Jones. The newly recruited member of the planning team -1, today is my first day." Hazel answered.
"Hazel Jones." Aspen repeated with expression, unreadable. "Okay, you can go back to work." Aspen spoke. Hazel nodded a yes and was about to leave.
Armin entered Aspen's room as he was about to greet his friend he quickly gave a hello look to Hazel as she passed him. She returned the same gesture with a gentle smile. As the door behind Armin closed. He quickly sat beside his best friend asking who's the girl that just left.
Aspen replied, eyes stuck to the monitor – "Hazel Jones, new employee."
Armin's eyes wide open as he couldn't believe his ears. He then blurted sarcastically – "I'll do merit to God today, my ears were blessed to hear a girl's name from Mr. Ice cold Aspen Hall...applaud."
Aspen was lost in his thoughts, he really never cared about other people and their damn business. But something about hazel's eyes made him lose. The way she looked, the way her cheeks flushed, her voice everything replayed before him as it was some kind of play.
"Hey" Armin's scream made Aspen snap out of his thoughts.
"Don't overreact and tell me how's it going" Aspen asked calmly as the deadline is nearing.
"You better find one in your office. No one is willing to accept that condition." Armin answered in disbelief.
"Still, don't stop searching." Aspen spoke. Armin nodded.
"How's work?" Armin asked shifting the focus to the pile of documents before him.
"headache, as usual." Aspen complained.
He wrapped his work early and was about to leave when a bright table lamp caught his attention. He looked at Hazel whose eyes were fixated on the screen, typing seriously, while the desk is in mess with scattered markers and some research papers.
Aspen found himself staring at her he quickly came back to his senses and left the place immediately.
