The next morning, they woke tangled together on the couch, the early sunlight streaming through the windows.
Felix's neck was at an awkward angle, and Matteo's arm had gone numb from Felix's weight.
"Ow," Felix groaned, sitting up slowly. "Why did we sleep here?"
"Jet lag makes bad decisions." Matteo flexed his arm, wincing. "Shower?"
"Coffee first. Then shower. Then maybe unpacking."
"Maybe?"
"I'm not making promises."
They moved through their morning routine with the ease of people who'd lived together long enough to anticipate each other's movements.
Matteo started the coffee while Felix retrieved their phone's from their bags, both devices lighting up with notifications they'd ignored since landing.
"Victor texted fifteen times," Felix said, scrolling. "Mostly asking when we're back and when he can see us."
"Tell him we'll come by the estate this afternoon. My father will want to hear about the trip anyway."
Felix looked up, one eyebrow raised. "You sure? Today?"
