Chapter 8 - chapter eight: Timeless

*Chapter Eight – Timeless*

*Dear Diary,*

It's been five years… and I'm fabulously twenty-four.

Well—*fabulously* might be pushing it. I'm twenty-four, semi-fab, quarter-broke, and just emotionally exhausted… but still fabulous. Sort of. Maybe. Whatever.

Starlight? Still shining, duh. But there was that one horrifying moment when they almost disbanded. *Almost*. I nearly fainted in my shower and started planning my funeral.

But they pulled through, started solo stuff, and now my five husbands are thriving individually *and* collectively. Multitasking kings.

As for me, your girl's fan account?

Let's just say… I made history.

It's one of the biggest Orbit accounts on the planet. I get sponsorships, PR drops, and exclusive updates. Yeah, being a fangirl became my part-time job.

Shaun? Living his best life in Paris, working with real fashion houses and looking like a Pinterest board. He did his master's, landed a designer gig, and now sends me croissant pics every two days.

Me? I'm still a history major… with dreams. Unfortunately, nobody seems to care about those unless you're a white man in a tweed jacket quoting dead philosophers.

Job hunting was a nightmare. I had to move out from my toxic house (thankfully), work part-time to survive, and dodge relationships like dodgeballs.

Yeah, relationships.

After Matthew disappeared, I tried dating again… let's just say, I met every single variety of red flag.

And the worst part? *I compromised.* I lowered my Juwon-level standards. I really did. And still ended up with dudes who ghosted me, mansplained history to me (the audacity!), or couldn't name a single Starlight member.

I hate to say it but…

Sometimes I miss Matthew.

He was basic. But he was kind. And real.

No abs, no tattoos, no sexy stage voice… but he cared.

And I pushed him away.

Ugh. Emotions. Gross.

But life goes on.

And today… something's finally changing.

I got a job offer.

Not just any job—*a dream job*.

A place I've been stalking (lovingly) since forever:

*Timeless.*

They write modern history, pop culture biographies, interview legends, and basically bring *storytelling* back into style. Think Vogue + Rolling Stone + a history degree.

In three years, they've won awards, changed the game, and built a cult following.

And the CEO?

Apparently just 25. No social media. No public drama. Super private.

Mysterious. Hot, probably. Definitely rich.

Tomorrow is my first day.

My outfit's ready. My nerves are fried.

But maybe… just maybe… this is the chapter where everything changes.

Wish me luck, diary.

I'm going *Timeless*.
