Chapter 1 - BITTER MEMORIES

In the heart of the bustling city, Sher stood aloof in his high-rise office, a fortress that protected him from the world outside. He had built an empire in the shadows, a reputation that earned him both fear and respect. Yet, buried beneath his emotionless exterior lay a haunting past.

Years ago, Sher was not the cold-hearted mafia boss he was known as today. He had a best friend, Shiva, with whom he shared laughter, dreams, and a girl named Mallika. But their bond shattered when love became rivalry. Mallika had chosen Shiva, but it was kept hidden from Sher and when Sher had finally mustered the courage to confess his feelings, she had rejected him. The betrayal cut deep, transforming friendship into bitter enmity the day Mallika's lifeless body was discovered, wrapped in a shroud of darkness and suspicion.

Sher had been wrongfully accused of her murder. Even Shiva, once his closest confidant, had become his fiercest adversary. How could he explain that he was innocent? That he only wanted happiness? With a deep breath, he pushed those memories aside, determined to focus on the present.
