Chapter 179 - Chapter 179: Mission Accomplished

Chapter 179: Mission Accomplished

"What do we do with Toretto's sister?" Hobbs's former deputy, now Shaw's inside man, asked as he checked his magazines.

"She's dead weight now. Waste her." Shaw tried to call his crew on the plane, but his phone had no signal. That was, of course, all Tej's doing.

"I've jammed all communications in this sector," Tej said as he finished typing, the ultimate tech warrior on Dom's team.

"Let's roll!" Ron commanded, and everyone mounted up, even Letty.

"Rookie, get your fastest bird up and disable one of its engines first!" Everything happened just as Ron had predicted. An unidentified aircraft approached from a distance, about to pass overhead.

Rookie donned his VR headset, and a high-speed reconnaissance drone launched from the back of his pickup truck, intercepting the plane before it could overtake them.

A basketball-sized drone trying to intercept a large military transport sounds like a joke, but in reality, even a massive military transport can be brought down by a toy-sized drone.

Rookie flew his drone directly in front of the transport aircraft. It was a four-engine turbo fan transport with massive jet engines. Rookie's drone flew straight into the intake of one engine, and then...

Rookie cut the power, and the dead drone was immediately sucked into the turbofan engine, causing a burst of flames. The aircraft banked hard in the air, but fortunately it was close to landing and quickly stabilized.

"Boss, one of our engines just got fragged!" The subordinate reported in panic: "Maybe we should try another exit strategy?"

"Negative, we can still fly on three engines!" Shaw gritted his teeth. Now he was trapped on the NATO base and the situation didn't allow for any other options. He said viciously: "Tell them to drop the ramp!"

Whirrrr The rear cargo door of the aircraft opened, and Shaw smiled grimly. Freedom was within reach. Letty was frantic: "If Shaw gets on that plane, your sister's dead for sure."

"I won't let him escape." Dom said, floored the accelerator, and started his approach. The moment Shaw's car rushed into the plane, Dom's car followed, with Ron close behind as the third to enter the aircraft.

"Ghost, I'm leaving the cleanup to you and Tank. I don't want to see any friendly casualties, understood?"

"Copy," Ghost replied over comms, and immediately swerved, ramming the car of one of Shaw's men and sending it sideways. "What are you waiting for? Light him up!"

"Don't tell me how to do my job!" Tank grumbled, but he still popped up through the sunroof, RPG in hand. "Say hello to my little friend!"

WHOOSH! The rocket shattered the car's windshield and struck the driver's compartment.

"BOOM!" The car exploded at close range, shrapnel nearly grazing Tank's beer gut. The blast nearly blinded him, but a strange sense of satisfaction welled up inside.

No wonder the boss loved heavy ordnance so much. Did explosions always feel this good? A whole new world opened up for Tank.

Gisele and Brian were trained operatives, and with Roman and Hobbs, the four of them easily neutralized the remaining vehicle.

...

Meanwhile, Shaw, who had just rushed onto the plane, was about to execute Mia, who was no longer useful, and Dom's ex when, with a crash, Dom's car burst onto the aircraft, and Shaw quickly dove for cover.

Ron's car followed close behind, but Shaw's new "asset" wasn't so lucky. She slammed directly into the cargo containers behind her, momentum unabated.

"Adios! I hate people who sell out their own." Ron quickly drew his sidearm and put her down, "Gender's no excuse for treason."

Dom was even more fired up than Ron. As soon as he exited his vehicle, he whipped out his shotgun and opened fire on Shaw. Unfortunately, his marksmanship was poor, and Shaw evaded every shot with skillful movement.

"You really should hit the range sometime," Ron muttered, taking a momentary break from the action. Dom ignored him and pursued Shaw. Just as Dom had taken a step forward, a massive figure suddenly emerged from behind the containers and lunged at Ron. The enormous body, like a storm cloud, engulfed Ron completely, and Ron could almost make out the food particles stuck in the teeth of the savage, bloated face approaching him.

But unlike the panic the big man had anticipated, Ron's face showed only disgust for someone who didn't practice proper dental hygiene, and he pivoted sideways.

Ron spun laterally, pushing off with his leg, transferring power from his core through his hip, and with his instep firmly planted, while the big man was still airborne, Ron delivered a devastating strike, channeling all his strength into the target.

CRACK!

Ron thought he heard the sound of something important breaking, and the big man, who had been flying, dropped straight to the deck. His face instantly went white as a sheet, but Ron still had no intention of letting him off easy.

Another devastating kick descended from above, landing on the big man's upturned face, which was contorted in agony.

THUNK! The big man's head bounced off the deck plating.

He wasn't dead, but he was down for the count, completely out of the fight.

"Tsk! Trying to bushwhack me!" Ron spat in the direction of the downed man. His eyes swept the cargo bay menacingly, searching for his next opponent. He couldn't help but think that if only he'd had footwork like this in his past life, maybe he could have made it onto the US National Soccer Team and led them to World Cup glory.

Admittedly, Ron was getting ahead of himself.

"BOOM!" Another explosion rocked the aircraft, and the plane shook violently again. Rookie had taken out another engine, leaving the transport with only two functional engines out of its original four.

Though the damage looked severe, it could still maintain flight.

"Take off! Now... Ugh!" Shaw's blonde accomplice urged frantically over the cockpit intercom. But before she could finish her sentence, a cold steel barrel shoved into her mouth.

"If you don't want me to accidentally discharge, you better keep real still. Or I can redecorate the cockpit with your brains with just a twitch of my finger, capisce?" Ron's icy voice echoed, and the woman nodded frantically.

Dom emerged from the other side, dragging the half-beaten Shaw. Shaw had taken at least two shotgun hits, and blood was seeping from his torso and legs. Ron took the intercom and said, "Kill the engines, gentlemen. Game over."
