Chapter 2 - Scores To Settle

Yin draped himself with the curtain from the museum, shielding himself from the burning rays of the sun. The world seemed like a new place to him, as he sauntered past the men and women that resided in the bustling city of Valcoria.

Horse driven carriages everywhere, and they looked much more fancier than they were, three hundred years ago.

For how long had he been trapped? He wondered. His entire being was hungry. Humans being everywhere didn't help matters. He had to find someone or else he'd go on a rampage.

"Move out of the way dummy!" A stout man cursed at Yin who was obviously causing traffic.

He turned, taking a long look at the man who was covered from head to toe as tho it was winter. Vampire! He could tell from his smell and eyes.

Yin moved a little closer, and the man felt a bit intimidated by his build. He bent low, low enough for the man to catch his threat.

"How about I bare your entire being out in the sun?" He smiled showing off his fangs, while revealing enough of his face for the man to catch a glimpse of him.

The man's eyes widened in fear, he couldn't believe his eyes. On Yin's order, they stepped away into the dark alley where the man immediately went down on his knees, pleading to be spared.

Tales he had heard of this demi god from his great grandfather, but none had expected him to come back to like; no one had.

"Please," the man bowed before him. "Spare me."

The alley blocked off the sun so Yin threw the curtain. He was extremely hungry but controlled himself. And, it felt good to see that his power was still supreme.

"Get up!"

The man slowly rose to his feet, his hands still clasped together. "Please,"

"I'm not going to kill you." Yin bared out his fangs. "Yet," The man swallowed audibly.

"Where is this place and why do you mingle freely with these pathetic creatures?" Yin demanded.

"T-this is Valcoria," the man informed him. "We vampires made peace with the human."

"They bow before us not the other way around! He yelled angrily. "Who rules our kind?"

"L.....lu...lucian," He struggled to get the words out. "He lives on the other side of Valcoria."

Yin took hold of the curtain and wrapped t around his entire being. "You'll take me there."

"Me! The man fell to his knees once more. "Please my Lord don't force me to go there."

Yin was slowly losing his patience. "Why is that?"

"I killed a human, and now they're out to get me." He answered. It had been a mistake, a mistake he'd forever regret. Only those who were wealthy and wielded power were allowed to feed on humans. The rest ate normal food.

"No one will kill you so get up."

"Yes, my lord." The man bowed, before getting up. They stepped out into the crowd, and he led Yin into his carriage where they both got in, and made their way to the other side of the town to a grey castle that housed most of the powerful vampires in the city.

The carriage came to a halt, and they both stepped out, making their way past the gates to the front door. It was opened so they went in.

"Who are you?" A human guard demanded with a knife to Yin's throat. The man shot him a warning look to put the knife down.

Yin smirked. His first meal! He let the curtain fall to the ground. In the twinkle of an eye, he had tackled the human, wrapping an arm around his neck and he dug his fangs into his neck. His screams alerted the vampires who came out in their numbers ready to attack the intruder.

"Get him! Lucina ordered and the vampires lurched towards him. Much faster, much stronger and more much deadlier. He had their dead bodies dripping to the floor like flies.

Lucian shook in fear. Who was the man?

An older vampire who had lived long enough to hear tales of this demigod answered from behind. "Before you is lord Yin, the mightiest of all vampires."

Everyone gasped. Never had they imagined that they'd see Yin; the almighty vampire lord. Legends had it that he was gone forever, how was he here?

"Lord Yin," Lucian made his way down the stairs, quickly falling at his feet. "Forgive me my lord."

Yin wiped off the bloodstains on his lips. That felt so good. "Are you Lucian?

"Yes,My lord," Lucian rose up, he couldn't help but gaze at him in surprise, perhaps trying to see if he was truly here or if he was a ghost.

As if reading his mind, Yin dug his fingers into his arm causing Lucian to wince in pain. He fell to his knees. "It is truly you my lord Yin, impossible!"

The other vampires bowed, and echoed in unison. "Welcome, Lord Yin."

"Alot has changed around here, humans." He scoffed. "You now bow to them?"

"No my lord," Lucian rose up, keeping his eyes on Yin's chest. "Mutual agreement, they pay us to keep them safe and also avoid preying on them."

"Pathetic," he hissed. That was an issue for later, he has come here for something else.

From his black pants, he withdrew a white handkerchief. Irene had dropped it.

"I believe you'll be able to find her since you're familiar with her kind!" He showed it to Lucian.

Lucian took it. "My lord, I don't know who goes by the name I.M."

"I know her," said a feminine voice.

Everyone including Yin turned in the direction. A girl with shoulder length jet black hair descended the stairs. She bowed before Yin.

"She's in my archeology class." She divulged. "Irene Myers, that is her full name."

"Irene Myers," Yin sniffed it, soaking in the scent of her fragrance that lingered on the handkerchief. Roses! She smelled heavenly.

"Find her and bring her to me." He ordered. "There are scores to settle "
