Chapter 131 - Chapter 115: The Battle and the New Lantern Ring

Sinestro and over three thousand Lanterns occupied the sky, glaring at Ron, each Guardian of a Universe sector, interstellar villains who had intimidated tens of thousands of galaxies; their oppressive gazes were almost tangible.

Even Selina, who had been captured and was no longer looked at by them, felt a mountain-like pressure.

Ron, however, remained calm, as if the dense multitude of Lanterns in the sky was not enough to concern him.

For a moment, there was a terrifying silence at the Earth's core.

"Hand over your Green Lantern Ring, Lantern."

Looking at Ron, Sinestro slowly spoke, his voice echoing in the Earth's core, saying coldly, "You have violated the Corps regulations."

"Green Lantern Ring?

This little tool provides some convenience; I don't intend to hand it over."

Ron rubbed the Green Lantern Ring on his hand and chuckled as he looked at Selina.

"Cough, cough... Help me.

After all, I was working for you."

Seeing him look over, Selina feigned a pitiful look, blinking her big eyes for help: "I'm not ready to go to jail yet."

Even if she was imprisoned on an alien Planet, going to jail wasn't cool.

"You're a bit of an embarrassment to me, Selina."

He looked at his fingernails, speaking unhurriedly.

His tone seemed to carry a hint of indifference, as if he wasn't very keen on saving her.

"Master, a cat isn't a vicious dog; isn't it normal not to fight?"

Selina grew anxious, and a flattering smile immediately appeared on her exquisite and beautiful face.

Damn guy, why did it turn out like this? Don't you know?

Why do you always fail to see your own reasons? You're truly unreasonable.

Rip!

Hearing Selina's internal grumbling, Ron clenched his hand, and lightning condensed into a spear, piercing through the void.

The lightning, imbued with divine power, easily shattered hundreds of Willpower chains like fragile glass, freeing her.

However, the power seemed a bit uncontrolled.

Zzzzt...

Electric light flashed, and Selina's hair stood on end from the shock, looking a bit comical, like a puffed-up cat. She gritted her teeth, suspecting Ron did it on purpose.

"Lantern, you are too presumptuous!

Where do you think this is?"

Sinestro, who had been ignored by Ron, was furious when he saw him brazenly rescuing an accomplice in front of all the Lanterns, and immediately roared an order to the entire Corps.

"Warriors, capture this fellow."

Ron reached out and grabbed through the air; lightning flashed around Selina's neck, pulling her back to his side.

"This is going to be a bit troublesome.

Little cat, stick close to me."

Despite saying it was dangerous, he seemed completely unconcerned, turning his head to say.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Thousands of Green Lanterns, with cold expressions, conjured chains of Willpower in their hands and threw them out.

From all directions, chains attacked.

His expression remained unchanged.

In the comics, the Green Lantern Corps has always been a peculiar force.

Normally, the more members a Corps has, the stronger it should be, but the Green Lantern Corps is an exception.

"One creates miracles, over three weakens, over five is guaranteed annihilation."

A single one is the strongest; every Green Lantern can stand alone and sometimes create miracles through strong Willpower in a crisis.

But once the number exceeds three, their combat power drops sharply, with occasional casualties, and if it exceeds five, the annihilation curse is sure to activate.

Swoosh!

Ron's eyes shot out laser beams, cutting through all the thrown chains and sweeping continuously.

Laser beams containing terrifying energy shot forth, and a circle of Green Lanterns quickly formed shields, but it was useless; the rays blasted them all away.

He was enveloped in lightning, slowly flying out of Oa with Selina, as thousands of Lanterns tried their best to stop him.

"Kill!"

Sinestro roared, and his Green Lantern Ring condensed a spaceship's laser cannon, reminding the Corps members not to hold back anymore.

Laser cannons, crossbow bolts, gravity nets, and various weapons, both primitive and advanced... were conjured by thousands of Lanterns to pursue Ron.

They also set up layers of barriers on his path, green light walls harder than steel, stacked together, several miles thick, almost blocking the way out of the Earth's core.

For a time, the attacks poured down like a violent storm.

Selina used Willpower to conjure a thick suit of armor and shivered, hiding inside.

Ron's eyes burst with lightning, and he moved unhindered with Selina as if strolling through a garden, his vast divine power countering the attacks of thousands of Lanterns without falling behind.

The violent and majestic lightning shattered Willpower; no Lantern could stop his advance.

"He's not even using a Green Lantern Ring."

Including Sinestro, he looked at that figure with shock, even a hint of trembling.

Ron didn't use a Green Lantern Ring; he resisted their attacks with his own strength alone.

"Get out of the way!"

His gaze sharpened, and blazing lightning erupted from Ron's body.

Divine power raged for several miles, annihilating all incoming Willpower.

A terrifying aura enveloped the Earth's core, and all the Green Lanterns were swept away by the lightning surge.

"Ah..."

A variety of oddly shaped Lanterns fell like rain, scorched all over, with many casualties.

"So strong.

We are not his match!"

The remaining people barely stabilized themselves, steam rising from their scorched bodies, looking in shock at the terrifying figure bathed in lightning.

"This is Oa! How dare someone act so recklessly on Oa? Unacceptable!"

Some Lanterns, unable to bear the humiliation, charged forward in extreme anger, unleashing power stronger than usual.

Whoosh!

But the next second, Ron pointed a finger, and a bolt of lightning shot out, turning several times in the air, easily piercing through the bodies of several people like a rag doll.

Several corpses fell towards the Earth's core.

"If you don't want the Green Lantern Corps to disappear from the Universe, remove your roadblocks."

He scanned the fearful Lanterns and said.

Willpower has a subjective quality, but not everyone can unleash terrifying combat power and turn the tide of battle with it.

"Stop!"

Suddenly, an old, cold voice echoed through the Earth's core, and several figures in long, solemn red robes flew from afar.

"We don't know what kind of Old God you are.

But Oa is not a place where you can be presumptuous."

The Guardians of the Universe stopped, and the one in the lead stared indifferently at Ron.

They saw that the lightning on Ron was divine power and classified him as an Old God.

The Gods of DC are divided into Old Gods and New Gods. Strictly speaking, there isn't much difference between them; it's just a matter of when they were born. Old Gods are the widely known Gods like Zeus, who mostly use divine power and magic.

New Gods, represented by Darkseid, have no myths among humans. They are equally or even more powerful than Old Gods, and mostly use innate powerful abilities and advanced technology.

"Are you really a God?"

Hearing what they said, Selina, who had been closely following him, showed surprise on her face.

She had been guessing Ron's identity, such as a Vampire, a wizard, or a God.

Now she seemed to be able to confirm Ron's identity.

The fish-man Green Lantern had said that the Guardians of the Universe possessed infinite knowledge and secrets, so they wouldn't mistake someone.

"Old God? I am not an Old God."

Ron looked at the several Guardians of the Universe who had flown over and calmly denied: "Those Old Gods have all lived for at least several million years.

I'm not that old yet."

The Guardians of the Universe were all as cold-faced as ice.

The Guardians of the Universe believed that emotions would hinder development, so they abandoned emotions, and only in very rare cases would emotional fluctuations occur.

Although many Green Lantern Corps members had died or were injured at the moment, to these little blue men, this was nothing and not worth getting angry about.

"Guardians of the Universe!

The Guardians have actually left the sanctuary."

Seeing the Guardians of the Universe appear, the Green Lanterns were all shocked.

The Guardians of the Universe had left the sanctuary made of giant stone pillars before, but that was in the very distant past.

At least none of them had seen it happen in their lifetime.

"Guardians, I apologize, it is our dereliction of duty."

All the Lanterns bowed their heads in deep shame.

It was their incompetence that forced the Guardians of the Universe to personally come out and handle things.

Sinestro's face was grim. He had once been full of confidence, believing himself to be the strongest in the Green Lantern Corps, and that he and the Green Lantern Corps warriors, gathered together, could solve any problem.

But less than a day had passed, and he and the others had encountered someone they couldn't defeat.

"Old God, leave Oa now.

Never set foot in this place again!"

The Guardians of the Universe said coldly.

"What?

Guardians, how can you let him leave so safely?"

Sinestro suddenly looked up, unable to believe what he had heard.

How could they just let him go so easily?

The other Green Lanterns were also shocked, looking at each other. Was the Green Lantern Corps, which guarded the Universe, going to retreat in the face of a mere individual?

"He entered the power battery and did something to the Central Power Battery. The Guardians cannot let him go."

He quickly continued.

The Guardian glanced at him: "Sinestro, we have checked the Central Battery, and there are no problems with it.

He just went in for a stroll."

As the oldest race in the Universe, the Guardians of the Universe, besides mastering the most advanced cosmic technology, were also extraordinary individuals, possessing abilities such as flight, telekinesis, energy manipulation, and immortality.

With a sweep of their telekinetic power, they knew the battery was fine, and the Lantern beast, Ion Shark, was also perfectly fine.

"But that's no reason to let him go."

Sinestro couldn't accept it, and neither could the other Green Lanterns.

In the Green Lantern Corps, the Guardians of the Universe held an incredibly exalted and great status.

Now, the Guardians of the Universe were actually so casually retreating in the face of an enemy who had killed their members.

But in reality, the Green Lantern Corps didn't know that it was normal for the Guardians of the Universe to retreat in the face of an insurmountable enemy; they had retreated more than once in past history, but each time they had erased the records and history.

"They actually let us leave so easily?!"

Selina was a little shocked.

These were the superiors of the Universe Police, responsible for guarding the entire Universe, yet they were actually wary of Ron. Didn't this mean Ron could do whatever he wanted in the Universe?

"Never set foot in this place again?"

Facing the words of the Guardians of the Universe, the steps they offered themselves, Ron chuckled indifferently, not tearing down their facade or confronting these old guys.

"This place holds no value for me anymore; barring unforeseen circumstances, I won't come again."

He took Selina and flew towards Oa. He used his Green Lantern Ring to open a wormhole above Oa.

Whoosh.

A gray wormhole vortex slowly expanded and opened in space.

Having already recorded the Ion Shark template, Oa held no value for him anymore.

As for the Guardians of the Universe, they actually possessed power far beyond ordinary Lanterns, otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to eliminate the Manhunters and control the entire Green Lantern Corps in the past.

But their race disliked conflict and action, and would not easily make a move.

Of course, it was mainly because they felt they didn't have much confidence in taking him down even if they did act, otherwise, how could these meddlesome and self-important little blue men be so easy to talk to?

"Guardians, he must at least leave behind the Green Lantern Ring that belongs to the Corps."

Seeing the wormhole open, Sinestro remembered that Ron still held Abin Sur's Green Lantern Ring, and hurriedly said.

Letting him go was one thing, but the Green Lantern Ring was the Corps' property.

In front of the wormhole, hearing Sinestro tell the little blue men to retrieve the Green Lantern Ring, Ron's face showed no change.

This time, the little blue men agreed. The Green Lantern Ring was the strongest weapon they had created in the Universe, representing the Green Lantern Corps, and could not be casually taken away by outsiders to exploit its power.

They tried to issue a command for the Green Lantern Ring to fly back, but it failed. Then they sent a self-destruct command, which also failed.

"I'm afraid it's not possible."

"Why not?"

Sinestro asked.

"He used Willpower to rewrite the Green Lantern Ring's permissions."

Looking at the figure about to fly into the wormhole, the Guardians of the Universe shook their heads slightly and said.

"That's possible?"

Sinestro, who considered himself the strongest warrior of the Green Lantern Corps, couldn't believe it.

The other Green Lanterns were also astonished to learn that such a thing was possible.

"Since you want this Green Lantern Ring?

Then I'll return it to you."

But just then, a moment before flying into the wormhole, Ron turned and used the power of the Green Lantern Ring, activating powerful Willpower to create something from nothing.

A flash of light, and a Green Lantern Ring like green jade was created.

He actively took off Abin Sur's Green Lantern Ring from his hand and casually flicked it.

Whoosh!

Sinestro reached out and caught it.

He got Abin Sur's Green Lantern Ring back, but he felt no joy, only uncontrollable annoyance. He felt as if he had been given charity, and it was like a silent mockery.

Donning the new emerald Green Lantern Ring, Ron flew into the wormhole with Selina, his hands behind his back.

The Willpower permission rewrite was something he had done when he first acquired the Green Lantern Ring, not a temporary action just now to prevent them from retrieving the ring.

"Entering the vast ocean where the Universe's Willpower is gathered, having close contact with Ion Shark, and even briefly establishing a mental connection.

I have gained a more subtle and profound understanding of Willpower."

Although it couldn't make him unleash stronger Willpower, he could now do things with Willpower that he couldn't do before.

For example—creating something from nothing, permanently creating energy constructs, not merely copying weakened versions of the Green Lantern Ring through advanced Green Lantern Ring functions, but truly creating a Green Lantern Ring according to his will.

And—it was a Green Lantern Ring without limitations, one that didn't require recharging.

The wormhole closed, and space returned to a void.

"Although he returned the Green Lantern Ring to us, he left a copy."

Sinestro's face was grim.

He thought Ron had used an advanced Green Lantern Ring function to copy and leave a weakened version of the Green Lantern Ring.

"No, that's not a Green Lantern Ring copy.

It's a brand new Green Lantern Ring, independent of the Green Lantern Corps system."

One of the Guardians of the Universe frowned and said.

They called the Green Lantern Ring the most powerful weapon in the Universe, which actually had nothing to do with the Green Lantern Ring itself, but rather that the Green Lantern Ring allowed one to use a miraculous and subjective Willpower to do many unimaginable things.

As long as the user's Willpower was strong enough, theoretically, the wielder could be as strong as Willpower itself.

After the lesson from the Manhunters, they placed restrictions on the Green Lantern Rings of the Green Lantern Corps; Lanterns, besides needing to follow various laws, had to periodically recharge their Green Lantern Rings, otherwise, they would lose their power.

"That brand new and free Green Lantern Ring can probably directly draw energy from the omnipresent Willpower in the Universe."

"His Willpower is the strongest I've ever seen, as if nothing can shake it, confuse it, or make it fear."

Another Guardian of the Universe said, his eyes subtly moving.

"I suspect he can even contend with Kryptonians using only the power of the Green Lantern Ring."

This was something they had once hoped for, that every Green Lantern warrior could wield power comparable to a Kryptonian through the Green Lantern Ring, but no Green Lantern warrior had achieved it to this day.

After all, theory sometimes remains just theory and cannot become reality.

"Perhaps we need to be flexible."

The Guardians of the Universe communicated mentally, their expressions slightly solemn, looking at each other.

The power of Willpower was, to some extent, still limited.

Parallax combined with this mysterious and young God, in the current situation, the Green Lantern Corps alone was not enough.

They had to use other forces to maintain the safety of the Universe and the dignity of the Corps, for example—the power of fear.

"Over billions of years, for the order and peace of the Universe, we have retreated several times.

But facing an unknown person in the Universe, this is the first time!"

Who were the people who made them retreat in the past?

The New Gods who ruled thousands of Worlds, the Kryptonians who once tried to colonize the entire Universe and almost succeeded—all were powerful forces that intimidated the Universe and instilled fear in billions of beings.

Now, someone they had never even heard of forced them to retreat...

Even the Guardians of the Universe, who had abandoned emotions and rarely experienced fluctuations in their hearts, couldn't help but feel a hint of anger deep down.

"He must pay for what happened today!"
