"In this world… all the Gods of Destruction have fallen. Even Lord Beerus is no exception. Now the universe needs someone new to carry that title, to keep balance, and to guide its growth."
Whis spoke calmly, his voice flat, without even a trace of emotion. He had lived for countless years, and his heart was far above normal feelings.
"What did you just say?! Beerus is dead?!" Goku's eyes widened in shock. The words hit him like a punch to the chest.
He couldn't believe it. He had fought Beerus, felt his terrifying power with his own fists. Even now, with his Super Saiyan God powers far stronger than before, Goku wasn't completely sure he could defeat him.
But Whis only nodded. His calm expression didn't change. "It's true. Lord Beerus has passed."
Goku clenched his fists, his emotions boiling inside. The thought that someone as powerful as Beerus could actually die… it shook him.
He remembered something—Black Goku. That monster had destroyed universes, slaughtered mortals, even killed gods. Could this be his doing too?
"Wait… was it him? The guy who looked exactly like me?" Goku asked, gritting his teeth. "But no… that guy wasn't strong enough to take down Beerus. Unless… unless he used some special trick."
"Whis, tell me the truth! What really killed Beerus?!"
Whis, with his staff in hand, lightly tapped the air. Angelic power flowed out, forming a glowing screen in front of them.
The scene revealed Trunks locked in a fierce battle against Dabura, the Demon King. Babidi had sent Dabura to Earth, hoping to draw out energy to revive Majin Buu. But Trunks, who had grown stronger under Supreme Kai's training, fought with the Kaioshin Sword at his side.
Then—disaster struck. Dabura's spit turned the sword to stone, shattering it completely. With it, the Elder Kai sealed inside the blade also perished. The East Supreme Kai had also fallen in battle.
Goku's breath caught in his throat. "Wait… if the Kais are dead… then…"
Whis gave a small nod. "You've guessed it. The life of the God of Destruction is tied to the Supreme Kai. When a Supreme Kai dies, the God of Destruction tied to him also vanishes. Lord Beerus did not fall to an enemy. He vanished because his Supreme Kai perished."
Goku's eyes darkened. He finally understood why Beerus had sealed the Elder Kai inside the sword long ago. It wasn't cruelty—it was protection. To keep others from killing him and, in turn, killing Beerus indirectly.
Whis shifted his gaze. "Now, the universe needs a new God of Destruction. And before passing away, the Supreme Kai gave his position to Trunks. That leaves only one throne open." His staff glowed faintly as his eyes turned toward Broly. "Mr. Broly… the position of God of Destruction falls to you."
Broly froze, his fists trembling. He glanced at Goku, unsure, almost scared.
"Broly…" Goku placed a hand on his shoulder. "I can't choose for you. This is your path. Whis isn't trying to trick you. Just follow your heart."
Broly closed his eyes. His heart was in chaos. He wanted strength—more than anyone—but he hated the thought of losing himself to power, of becoming a slave to it. Still, if he wanted to change his fate… maybe this was the only road forward.
He let out a heavy breath. "…Alright. I'll do it. But Whis, you have to promise me—help me control my power."
Whis smiled faintly, lifting his staff. "You'll be glad you chose this path."
In an instant, Broly's old clothes vanished, replaced by the robes of a God of Destruction candidate. His aura shifted—wilder, heavier.
Broly looked down at himself, eyes wide. "This… this is amazing."
"From now on, you're the candidate God of Destruction of Universe 7," Whis explained. Then he turned to Goku. "And you, Goku… why don't you come with us? Visit the world of destruction itself."
"The Realm of the God of Destruction?" Goku tilted his head. "Sounds interesting! I've got nothing else going on, so yeah, let's go! I wanna see how different it is from the Supreme Kai's realm."
Whis raised his staff, power flowing like a storm. "Then hold on tight. Don't let go, or you might get lost in the void between."
Goku grinned, grabbing Whis's shoulder. Broly did the same.
A vast, mysterious light wrapped around them. Goku could feel it—it wasn't ki, it wasn't god power. It was something deeper, infinite.
"This is… angel power…" he whispered, eyes shining with curiosity.
"Is this really his power…?"
Goku thought to himself, feeling the overwhelming angelic energy around him. "This power… it's nothing like the God of Destruction's. There's no way Whis is just Beerus's servant. His strength feels way beyond even Beerus."
The air trembled as Whis's staff shined brightly. With one wave, his angel power burst out like a storm of light, piercing through the skies of the Supreme Kai Realm and tearing into the endless void.
…
After five minutes of traveling through that strange light, they arrived.
A glowing stream cut across dimensions and dropped straight into the Realm of Destruction. The ground trembled as the three figures landed.
"Whis is back already?" The prophecy fish muttered, moving its floating tank toward the landing spot.
The light faded, and Goku, Broly, and Whis appeared.
"Wukong, Broly… we're here," Whis said gently. "Welcome to the Realm of Destruction."
Goku's jaw dropped the moment he looked around. "Woah… this place is insane!"
The space stretched endlessly, filled with divine energy. Compared to the Supreme Kai Realm, this world was on a whole other level. The air itself felt alive—refreshing, rich with energy. Goku's body instantly relaxed, his ki flowing smoother than ever.
"This… this is crazy," Goku muttered, taking a deep breath. "Even just breathing here makes my blood boil with power. Training here would be a hundred times better than on Earth."
"Heh~ Whis, you're back," the prophecy fish floated closer, squinting. "And these two… are the guests you brought? Really rare. Since this world was born, no mortals have ever set foot here."
Broly and Goku's eyes locked on the fish at the same time. Both of their stomachs growled.
"This fish… it can talk?" Goku leaned in, curious.
"Hey! Don't stare at me like that!" the prophecy fish shouted nervously. "I'm not some regular fish, you hear?!"
But Broly's sharp gaze made it worse. The fish suddenly felt like prey caught in the hunter's sight.
"W-What do you think you're doing?! Don't look at me like I'm dinner!!" The prophecy fish panicked and quickly floated behind Whis for protection.
Broly chuckled. "Relax. You're too small. Even if I ate you, I wouldn't be full."
Whis laughed softly, covering his mouth. "Hoho~ it's been a long time since I've seen the prophecy fish this scared."
"Don't laugh at me!" the prophecy fish yelled. "Why did you bring two dangerous Saiyans here?! They looked at me like I was food the moment we met!"
Ignoring the fish's complaints, Whis turned back to Goku and Broly. "You two must be hungry. Come with me."
The second he mentioned food, both Saiyans' stomachs growled louder than ever.
Broly hadn't eaten well for years—his rage-filled life never gave him a chance. The few things he ate on Earth tasted awful, but at least filled his stomach. As for Goku, food was scarce in this timeline, and when he cooked himself… well, even he admitted it was terrible.
The two followed Whis eagerly, and soon they sat down to a divine feast. The food wasn't exactly delicious by Earth's standards, but it carried a strange energy, pure and rich, that filled them in ways no mortal meal could.
After eating until their hearts were content, Whis showed them to their rooms. "Rest well. Eating, sleeping, and recovering are also part of training," he reminded them.
Goku lay down, finally letting his body relax after endless battles. His mind and spirit had been stretched thin, and he needed this. Broly, though still brimming with energy, felt his exhaustion too. Even the strongest needed to rest.
…
Time passed quickly. A month had gone by since Goku's last clash with Vegito.
In that time, Broly had trained nonstop under Whis. His control over his insane power grew sharper every day. His learning speed was terrifying—watch once, and he could copy. Whis himself was impressed. "This boy… his potential might even surpass Beerus someday," he thought.
Meanwhile, Goku didn't slack either. Using the divine environment of this realm, he meditated deeply, replaying every moment of his fight with Vegito. Sitting cross-legged above a calm lake, he focused not on releasing power, but on condensing it, hiding it.
His body looked calm, like the silent sky. But Whis could tell—once unleashed, Goku's power would surge like a tidal wave, enough to swallow any enemy whole.
