At his office, Adrian paused mid-typing, his fingers freezing over the keyboard. A sudden wave of dizziness hit him, forcing him to grip the edge of the desk for balance. His chest felt tight, his breathing uneven.
He pressed a hand to his temple and muttered under his breath, "Lucien...Ash...are they alright?" He exhaled slowly, shaking his head. "I must be imagining things. Lucien said they were spending the night at his mother's place."
But the unease lingered. He reached for his phone and dialed Lucien's number. It rang several times, but no one picked up. His brows furrowed.
"Asleep? No...it's not like him to sleep this early."
After a moment's hesitation, he tried again; this time calling Ash. The same result. No answer.
"Is Ash asleep too?" he murmured, his tone growing tense. "That's not like him either."
