Chapter 7 - 7

Everyone here is a killer making a living in New York, so Russell wasn't surprised that Perkins had met Diana.

When he first entered the industry, he also considered whether or not to hide his true identity to avoid future unpleasantness.

But he ultimately gave up on this idea.

There were two reasons.

First, at that time, he didn't have enough ability to hide his true identity.

Trying to hide one's true identity in front of a group of professional killers is not an easy task.

Second, he didn't plan to be a good person who met public expectations.

Being a good person is a thankless task.

Especially in this magical country, America.

Due to cultural differences, most people in America respect strength, not kindness.

To gain their respect, the best way is not to be a good person who meets public moral standards, but to be someone whose fist is bigger than theirs.

The people of this country only believe in strength!

"Don't you have any missions lately?"

Russell pushed away Perkins's right hand.

If the mood struck him, he wouldn't mind doing something that would make everyone happy with a beauty like Perkins, who looked more like a model than a killer.

But currently, he didn't have such worldly thoughts.

That meal at noon, Diana had fed him very well, leaving him quite satisfied.

"I just got back from Washington."

Perkins stopped touching Russell inappropriately and ordered a glass of whiskey from the bartender.

"Looking at you, the mission doesn't seem to have gone very smoothly."

"I ran into a lunatic, the mission failed, and I almost didn't make it back."

Perkins's expression became a little serious.

She failed?

Russell started to get a little curious.

Perkins wasn't some killer who had just entered the industry.

When other girls were still swooning over handsome seniors in school, she had already entered the killer industry.

Judging by the time she entered the industry, she could be considered Russell's senior.

Russell had gone on missions with her before and knew what kind of strength she possessed.

A lunatic who ruined her mission and almost prevented her from returning was definitely no ordinary person.

"Who did it?"

"It was that guy who calls himself the Punisher!"

Perkins finished the whiskey in her glass in one gulp and said with a grim face, "Next time, he'd better not let me run into him, or I'll definitely let him see what happens when you bully a woman!"

The Punisher?

Hearing this, Russell was stunned for a moment.

Of course, he knew who the Punisher was.

But the problem was, there were no rumors of the Punisher attacking killers before.

Of course, this was just what he knew.

Perhaps fellow killers had died at the Punisher's hands early on, and it was just that not many people knew.

"What exactly happened? Is it convenient to tell me?"

Russell asked very politely.

Familiarity aside.

Asking about a killer's specific action plan is not a very friendly thing to do.

Every killer has some small habits of their own, and these small habits are hidden within their action plans.

These small habits don't have much value in the eyes of ordinary people.

But in the eyes of fellow professionals, these habits are enough to become the flaws needed to kill the other person.

"It's no big deal to tell you. You haven't shown up much this week and missed a lot of news."

Perkins lowered her voice, using a tone only the two of them could hear, and briefly talked about her actions.

The operation wasn't anything special; it was just an ordinary assassination mission targeting a gang leader active in Washington D.C.

The first half of the operation went smoothly; for the experienced Perkins, this was just a routine minor task.

But something went wrong somewhere; just as she was about to kill the target, the Punisher appeared.

The Punisher killed the target that was supposed to be killed by her and even tried to kill Perkins.

If Perkins hadn't had some skills, she wouldn't be in the bar right now but lying on some forensic pathologist's workbench.

"You guys should have just happened to run into each other, right?"

It's not very strange for killers to run into fellow professionals while performing missions.

Unless the client only issued a private single-person commission.

And even with a single-person commission, you might still run into killers sent by the target's other enemies.

"That's why I said you missed a lot of things this week."

"I wasn't the first person to run into him. Before me, three people have already died at his hands."

"Three died within a week. He's systematically hunting us!"

Perkins got angrier the more she spoke, and the killing intent on her face was almost impossible to hide.

The Punisher systematically hunting killers?

Although this sounds a bit unbelievable, thinking about it carefully, this is indeed something the Punisher would do.

The Punisher isn't a superhero in the normal sense; this guy is a typical anti-hero.

In his view, as long as you are guilty, you need to be eliminated.

As for trial and sentencing, with him, there is only one standard: death!

Although he didn't know why the Punisher suddenly targeted killers, Russell didn't waste time thinking about this problem.

For the Punisher, whether it's a gang leader or a killer, they are all scum of society and targets that need to be eliminated.

Changing the target of punishment to killers was perhaps just him wanting to change things up a bit.

"Then you should be more careful lately. The Punisher isn't someone who gives up easily."

Russell reminded Perkins.

"You're the one who needs to be more careful. You're the fastest rising killer in recent years, and he definitely won't mind eliminating the famous 'Traveler'!"

The Traveler!

This is Russell's codename in the killer world.

Although this codename doesn't sound imposing, the killers in New York all know that it means a 100% mission completion rate.

"I don't think he has the strength to kill me."

"He's not the only one who wants my life, and having one more isn't a big deal."

Russell asked the bartender to pour him another glass of GlenDronach 18 year old whiskey and said with a smile.

For ordinary people, the Punisher is indeed very strong.

But for Russell, he was nothing special.

In the evaluation of Motherfucker Nick Fury, the Punisher is a "Level 10 Agent," representing the highest level of combat power for normal humans.

Unfortunately, Russell wasn't some normal human.

Even before activating the "Venom Symbiote" reward, he was confident he could defeat the Punisher with his bare hands.

After having Venom, the Punisher was even less likely to be his opponent.

"I just like this kind of confidence in you. Are you really not planning to go to my room for a nap?"

Perkins pressed her alluring body close, her red lips near Russell's ear, and said softly.

While speaking, her hands weren't idle either, wandering over Russell's body like two poisonous snakes.

"I don't have the habit of taking naps."

Russell pushed Perkins away again.
