Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: One skill point per second?

In a parallel world, on Azure Star, the campus of Riverdale High School was bustling with activity. Today was the day the seniors of Riverdale High awakened their professions.

It was also the oath-taking ceremony for the National Professional College Entrance Examination!

Countless students, dressed in Riverdale High uniforms, lined up by class, with numerous media outlets and reporters behind them, cameras poised, capturing this momentous occasion.

"High School, Senior Year, all soldiers!"

"Stand!"

" Swear with me—"

At the front of the line, a spirited young man suddenly stood up, grabbed the microphone, and roared at the top of his lungs.

"From today on, I will become a member of the United Front Professionals! I will work hard and level up! I have a part to play in the revival of humanity... Ugh!"

Clap, clap, clap!

The school leaders on the stage led the applause. Countless media outlets and reporters also offered applause and praise!

In the ranks of High School, Senior Year, a handsome boy nearly burst out laughing. His name was Ethan Williams.

This world entire territory had expanded more than tenfold compared to the Earth. Human's aren't top in food chain of this planet. Furthermore, Vast territories teemed with unknown and terrifying monsters and ferocious beasts, constantly threatening the very survival of human civilization. Fortunately, humans had also been blessed by the laws of Azure Star. Upon reaching adulthood at 18, everyone had the opportunity to awaken a skill.

Acquiring combat skills meant successfully transitioning to a combat-focused profession. They would subsequently become the vanguard of humanity's battles against monsters and ferocious beasts. Their status and position were significantly higher than those who awakened auxiliary or life-related skills.

"You're still laughing! I'm so nervous!" A tall, muscular boy beside Ethan poked him in the back, sweat dripping down his forehead.

"Why are you so nervous? It's just awakening a class, isn't it?" Ethan shrugged, remaining calm and composed.

The tall man was named Jack Anderson, a good friend of Ethan's. Perhaps his parents had set too high expectations for him. Despite his size and strength, he wasn't nearly as calm and relaxed as Ethan at this moment.

"You've been the top student in the grade for the past three years, of course you're not nervous!"

"Damn, I just want to be a warrior and inherit my dad's legacy. He has a full set of equipment and skill books, and even saved five skill point scrolls for me to use!"

Ethan laughed. What a devoted son!

With the oath-taking ceremony over, awakening ceremony officially began. The ceremony was simple, those whose names were called walked up to the stage and touched the giant pale blue spirit crystal stone floating in the center to gain their first skill.

At the same time, the corresponding class traits are awakened based on the skills acquired.

"Evan Thompson, acquired the skill: Fishing, Lifestyle Class: Fisherman!"

"Callie Morgan, acquired the skill: Singing, Lifestyle Class: Idol!"

" James Smith, acquired the skill: Forging, Lifestyle Class: Blacksmith!"

As one person after another took the stage to awaken their class, the teachers announcing the awakening results read out each cold skill and class, and many in the audience, like Jack, tensed.

In fact, the teachers at Riverside High were also dissatisfied. They whispered to each other. Why are the students this year so poorly qualified? Over ten minutes had passed, and not a single one had awakened a combat skill!

"Emily Harris, come up and awaken your class!"

The teacher on stage called out another name, and the next moment, everyone in Senior Year turned their attention to the cool and elegant girl at the front of the line.

"Keep going, Emily!" Henry Woods, the class monitor, who had just finished shouting at the top of his lungs, even breaking his voice, smiled a self-proclaimed warm smile and encouraged Emily.

Who knew that he didn't earn her favor enough. Because at that moment, she didn't even glance at him. Instead, she looked up at another young man at the back of the group. Ethan felt a hint of provocation in Emily's gaze and felt a sense of helplessness.

It was just that for the past three years, he had consistently dominated her. Why was she so resentful that she even challenged him when she awakened her profession?

Emily, the class beauty of Senior year and the entire Riverdale High, was taken aback by this glance. Instantly, everyone's attention was once again focused on Ethan.

What professions these two would awaken was a hot topic of discussion. Emily, after giving Ethan a deep look, walked onto the stage with her long legs and reached out to touch the blue spirit crystal.

The next moment, the blue spirit crystal trembled several times, emitting a violent wave of magical energy.

The old principal's eyes lit up on the stage, he announced the results of this awakening.

"Emily Harris, awakening skill: Telekinesis! Combat class: Psychic Master!"

Wow— the entire audience erupted in laughter!

The reporters, frantically snapped their cameras to capture this historic moment!

Psychic Master, a rare class!

This class can use telekinesis to manipulate objects and attack enemies, or use terrifying telekinesis to completely destroy an enemy's mental defenses.

Emily, the cold-faced school beauty, actually smiled when she confirmed she had obtained such an incredibly rare class.

"Ethan Williams, come up and awaken your class!"

This time, everyone's eyes were once again on Ethan. If second in the grade was a rare class, then first in the grade must be a legendary class, right? As for the epic classes even higher, they didn't dare to even think about it. The pressure was on Ethan.

Ethan strode onto the stage. It was impossible to say he wasn't nervous. In this environment, with so many people watching and expecting him, even after two lives, Ethan, whose easygoing nature had long since faded, could still sense a hint of anxiety.

He reached out to touch the blue spirit crystal. It felt icy cold. The next moment, a faint wave of magical energy emanated from the crystal. The old principal, standing nearby, raised his eyebrows, a hint of anticipation.

Who knew that the magical energy, the moment it appeared, would not grow any stronger. Finally, hiding his disappointment, he reluctantly announced, "Ethan Williams, Awakening Skill: Fireball, Combat Class: Mage."

Mage. A commonplace mage! Though a combat class, with Emily's example before him and the countless halos surrounding Ethan, this result was undoubtedly disappointing to most!

Click, Click, Click!

The shutter sounds continued. Ethan froze on the stage. It wasn't because he wasn't satisfied with the skill and class he'd awakened. Rather, at the same moment, he heard another voice in his mind.
