Chapter 2 - Prologue - The Sky Is Falling

"The sky is falling!"

Screamed a man running through the rocky streets of ancient Greece, Not bothering to watch his step as he ran, and ran, like his life depended on it, which it did in his eyes.

As he ran, he tripped on a cracked piece of rock and fell flat on his face. The crowd, filled with pedestrians, all stopped and looked at the man, curious looks on all of their faces.

The man got up and proclaimed once more:

"The sky is falling"

And the crowd stayed with the perplexed look on their faces, until one man exclaimed:

"What may you be talking about? We will always have protection in the skies"

And that is only because, before mortals Roamed the earth, there were Gods. Immortal beings who shaped the world, ruled it, cultivated it, watched over the land of Greece from mount Olympus like hawks scouting the land. And all of this was true—

—Until today.

The man and the pedestrians looked up in horror as Artemis crashed into a nearby building, surviving the fall. All of the pedestrians started to walk towards Artemis, except for the one man, still shaking in fear, starts to crawl away from the crowd, terrified. He simply pointed in the air and started to scream, the rest of the crowd looked up, still confused beyond recognition.

But the man's fears were soon justified, as Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and Hestia all crashed into the ground, one after another.

The Gods, for the first time in existence, looked helpless, their physical forms slowly melting away at the seams, the pedestrians looked horrified at what was occuring in front of them, until Hestia raised a hand into the sky, To which Athena soon followed, and Then Hephaestus, and soon, each of the gods raised a hand to the sky, Zeus being the final one to engage in this act.

As All 12 of these Gods and Goddesses raised their hands into the sky, Several beams of light shot into the sky like beacons.

—Beacons of hope.

In a desperate attempt to keep their legacy alive, the final 12 gods shared their powers with humans, albeit a very select few, these powers would come to be known as "abilities" Hestia, the first of the group to raise her hand, was coined as the: "Mother of all abilities", becoming a sort of religious figure within those who had abilities.

These Abilities have been passed down from generation to generation, but even after all this time, less than 0.000001% of the world's documented population have abilities, this is mainly due to the fact that for millennia, abilities have not ever been able to be replicated.

—Until now.

Now, as in at this exact point in time wouldn't be accurate, as this was achieved in September of 1982, 3 years before we start our story.
