They move at a snail's pace, like they're both standing at the edge of a cliff they've circled for years and finally decided to jump together.
But Ciel moves first.
Wow.
It's slow at first, a soft lean-in, like the world has narrowed down to the two of them and the inches of air between their lips. Nolan freezes, his knuckles going pale where his fingers clutch the sheets, and for a heartbeat I can actually hear the sound of my own pulse thudding in my ears.
Then Ciel's lips brush his, a whisper of a kiss, and Nolan just melts.
My grin spreads before I can stop it.
The way Nolan's hands flex against the bedding like he's holding on to something solid to keep from shattering apart is adorable.
He really, really likes Ciel.
It's written all over him, in the stiff set of his shoulders slowly unraveling, in the way his breath catches just before Ciel kisses him again.
