Chapter 89 - The rented villa

Hugo nodded, but deep down he was extremely unwilling to believe that this house belonged to Grant. Although he and Lydia were card-playing friends, in their relationship, Hugo always elevated his own status. Even though Lydia had married into a wealthy family, in his eyes, she was still not as good as him because she had a useless son-in-law.

Over the years, he had become accustomed to being superior in everything, whether it was cars or houses. If Grant had bought a house here, did that mean he was even better than his own son? Hugo absolutely refused to admit this.

"Hugo, why are you still standing outside? Come on in," Lydia said, her face showing off her status without any shame.

Hugo was unhappy, but he gritted his teeth and walked into the villa when he thought about Gael exposing him later.
