Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Oversight

The void cracked. Not with sound—not even with light—but with authority.

Every shard froze. Every timeline stuttered. Even the crews—bleeding, raging, desperate—stopped mid-motion, as if someone had hit pause.

[Oversight Entity: Online]

[Threat Level: Absolute]

It wasn't a monster. It wasn't a god. It was a presence.

A silhouette of endless white glyphs, faceless, shifting. Every step it took recompiled existence around it. Broken stars reassembled. Shattered chains reformed. Even blood reversed back into veins.

Nutasi gasped, psychic field shattering. "It's rewriting us."

Jhene's chains convulsed in her hands, moving against her will.

Yugami roared, but his claws fizzled into harmless sparks.

Verma's rifle melted into dust.

Shinzoo dropped, crushed by a weight that wasn't gravity—it was obedience.

The Entity spoke, voice neither sound nor code, but command:

"Unauthorized Architect detected. Anomaly will be corrected."

Rose-Metal didn't kneel.

She laughed. Low. Sharp. Dangerous.

"Correct me? Babe, the only correction I take is spell-check."

Her Amber Eyes flared, glitch-lines crawling across her plating. She snapped her cannon-leg into position.

Oversight Initiates Protocol

[Level Cap Reinforced]

[Progression Lock: Active]

[Reality Rewrite: Enemy Advantage]

Her HUD flickered. For the first time since Ascension, she felt restriction. Every strike slowed, every system glitched under its gaze.

"Ahhh," she breathed, grinning wider. "So this is how you nerf me. Cute."

The Oversight raised a hand, and the void obeyed. Her blade snapped in half. Her cannon-leg crumpled. Her plating screamed as its commands tried to overwrite her existence back into "player" status.

"Anomaly will return to default settings."

Her laughter turned feral.

"You think you can downgrade me?" She tore her broken blade free, sparks and blood spraying. Amber Eyes burned molten white.

"I am the patch notes, bitch."

Override: Architect's Rebellion

Her voice cut through the void like a glitch command. Reality bent—not for the Oversight, but for her.

Her blade reformed, cannon-leg reloaded, plating stitched itself back together in defiance.

The crews—half-crushed, half-erased—looked up in awe.

And Rose-Metal stood against the faceless Entity, smirk dripping venom.

"Come on then. Let's see who rewrites who."

The void shuddered.

The Oversight raised its hand.

Rose-Metal lunged.

And existence itself split open.

Oversight (continued)

The void was no longer a battlefield—it was a courtroom, and the Oversight Entity was judge, jury, and executioner.

Every movement Rose-Metal made was rewritten in real time.

A blade strike became a flower petal.

A cannon blast fizzled into sparks.

Her smirk wavered—not with fear, but with fury.

[Warning: Level Cap Reinforced]

[Progression Locked: Level 3870]

Her HUD flashed red, trying to chain her down.

She snarled. "You think you can cage me with math?"

The Oversight raised its faceless head.

"Anomaly will be reverted."

Round One: Rewrite vs. Rewrite

Rose-Metal lunged, Amber Eyes blazing like suns. She slashed with obsidian fury, cannon-leg detonating point-blank. The Oversight caught both in one hand, rewriting her attacks into nothing.

Her plating cracked. Blood hissed in the void.

She laughed, feral. "Cute trick. But I can cheat too."

Her Amber Eyes burned white-hot—rewriting not the attack, but the rewrite itself.

When Oversight nullified her blade, she nullified the nullification.

When it deleted her cannon-blast, she deleted the deletion.

[Override: Loop Broken]

[Progression Lock Disabled]

[Level +∞]

Her HUD glitched violently, level bar flooding upward with no ceiling. 3870… 4000… 6000… 9999… then nothing but ∞ flashing.

The Oversight tilted its faceless head, the void trembling.

"You cannot exist."

Rose-Metal licked residue from her knuckles, smirk sharp as a knife.

"Then explain why I'm still here."

Counterattack

She unleashed everything—cannon-leg firing like a collapsing sun, blade arcs ripping dimensions, Amber Eyes firing beams that deleted whole laws of physics mid-combat.

The Oversight stumbled—not broken, not bleeding—but surprised.

Its glyphs flickered.

Its law faltered.

For the first time since the beginning of dungeons, the Oversight was denied.

Cliffhanger

But as she pressed forward, existence screamed.

The void fractured, every shard showing different versions of her.

One triumphant. One broken. One erased. One crowned.

The Oversight's voice boomed, not in words but inevitability:

"If you win, reality collapses. If you lose, reality resets. There is no victory."

Rose-Metal's grin widened, blood dripping down her plating.

"Wrong." She raised her blade, cannon primed.

"The only option is me."

And she lunged again—straight into infinity.
