A blazing pillar of light descended from the sky, like a fleeting rainbow, appearing and disappearing. After the light faded, several figures appeared, but before the searchers could follow their trail, they quickly vanished into the night.
Sam woke up from his sleep, sat up suddenly from the bed, ran to the window quickly, looked down, and saw that the car he had just bought was slowly starting.
"Hey! Don't do that!" Sam grabbed his clothes from the bed and pulled them on. He quickly ran to the door, opened it, and rushed out. Although the car had been owned for who knows how many years and looked very old, it was his first car after all. Their relationship was at its sweet peak! If he lost it, his father would not easily buy him a second one.
So, stealing cars is not acceptable!
Sam rushed out of the door as fast as he could, but even though he was very fast, after rushing out of the door, all he saw was the back of a car speeding away.
Sam cursed the bike thief a thousand times in his mind. His only thought, impulsively, was: Don't let him get away with it! He pulled up his bike, put his legs on it, and pedaled. He lifted his butt slightly off the seat, leaned forward, and pedaled with all his might, staying firmly behind his bike.
The car was moving through the streets like a fish, heading towards a remote area. Sam, in a frenzy, followed it regardless. The only thing in his mind and eyes was to catch up with his car and take it back.
It was not until Sam was sweating profusely on the ride that he realized his bike had stopped in a deserted wilderness.
In the night wind, he saw his car deforming with a clattering sound. The parts seemed to increase invisibly, and it transformed from a car into a humanoid mechanical body.
Even as Sam was still lost in his terror, the roar of other vehicles filled the night. Leading the pack was a mighty truck, its convoy wedged right behind Sam, blocking his escape route. Then, as Sam watched in despair, the lead truck began to transform, and the cars behind it followed suit, twisting and turning, parts flying, into robots that surrounded Sam.
"Oh my God!" Sam nervously took out his cell phone, but before he could make a call, it was blocked by an unknown signal and lost its communication function.
"Sam Witwicky, great-grandson of Archibald Witwicky?" The transformed robot in the leading truck squatted down and put its mechanical face close to Sam's body. The mechanical voice, like a broadcaster, changed from unfamiliar to familiar, and turned into a mature male voice in just a few words.
"Answer me, Archibald Witwicky, is he your great-grandfather?" The mechanical giant saw Sam's bewildered and frightened look and asked again.
"Yes." Sam, who was repeatedly reminded by the robot's voice, seemed to wake up from a dream. He shuddered all over and answered subconsciously.
"Don't be nervous, we just want to ask you a question." Seeing Sam retreating, the robot considerately distanced itself from him. "My name is Optimus Prime, an Autobot from Cybertron. A devastating war broke out on our home planet, forcing us to leave and wander the universe, finally settling on this planet in hiding.
If everything goes smoothly, we wouldn't want to disturb the peace of your civilization, but disaster has already struck, and we have no choice! Only by cooperating can we prevent it from happening."
"Wait a minute, I don't understand what you are talking about! What Cybertron, what Autobots, what robots and wars, I don't know what disaster has come, I am completely confused now..." Sam stretched out his hand to stop Optimus Prime from speaking, and he couldn't help but spit out so many complaints in his heart.
"I understand." Optimus Prime was not surprised by Sam's attitude. He stood up, took two steps back, and then two rays of light flashed in his eyes.
The surroundings suddenly shifted, replaced by virtual images before Sam's eyes. The apocalyptic scene of earth-shattering collapses made Sam instinctively duck and scream in fear. He knew the next moment that it was all fake—the rock that should have flattened him into a meat pie was fake, as was the cracked earth beneath his feet. But the story the other person was telling in the virtual images might be true.
Pictures are the communication method that carries the most information and is easiest for people to grasp and understand. Combined with Optimus Prime's narration, Sam soon understood the information that Optimus Prime wanted to tell him.
When all the lights and images disappeared and everything around him returned to normal, Sam had no choice but to accept his magical day.
"You want the glasses left by my grandfather?" Sam found the key point from the message.
"Yes. We must find the cube before anyone else! And we discovered that the glasses contain information about its whereabouts." Optimus Prime nodded.
"Cube? What is that? Who is trying to steal it?" Sam kept asking. He didn't mind his glasses being auctioned, but after the panic and fear, the young man's mind was now filled with an inexplicable fanaticism.
"The cube is the source of our life. It also has another name, the Allspark, which can give life to machines! The ones competing with us for it are the Decepticons. They are keen on war, and Cybertron was destroyed because of them. And now, they have come to your planet! If you let them get the Allspark first, your home will be destroyed." Optimus Prime patiently explained to Sam.
"We can talk about this as we go. What you mean is that if they get the cube, they will create a large number of Decepticons, start a war and occupy the planet?" Sam sat in Optimus Prime's driving seat and followed the convoy towards his home.
"This is inevitable. But what I am more worried about is another possibility!" Optimus Prime's voice sounded in the car.
"What's possible?"
"According to legends, it possesses the ability to teleport! It's said that if someone could unleash this ability, they could find the planet where the Supreme Monarch Maker resided and obtain the treasure he left behind! We always thought it was just a legend, but the Decepticons firmly believed it was real! They've conducted experiment after experiment to this end. Each experiment consumed enormous amounts of energy and resources, yet they always yielded nothing."
"Looks like I'm lucky. This is not a difficult world." In the night, in front of the railing of a balcony of a high-rise building, a blond young man said in a slightly relaxed tone.
"Are you sure that thing is in this universe? You know, the way we entered this time was not very formal, and we could be deported at any time."
"It's here! There's no doubt about it!" A metallic voice rang out from the watch on the blond man's wrist. "As for repatriation? This is a closed world for now. No one except us can enter again for a certain period of time. As long as we don't mess around."
"What is considered messing around?" the blond man asked about the bottom line.
"Destroy the life and civilization here. Normally, the Lord hates this!" The metallic voice gave its own judgment.
"It's just a reboot, isn't it? We all know that these universes are mostly used as materials and vessels for training warriors. Its mechanism is to cut the timeline so that they don't affect each other."
The person who spoke was a tall woman with burgundy hair that reached her waist, beautiful features, and a well-proportioned figure. She was wearing a tight-fitting silver metallic dress that perfectly outlined her figure.
"How's it going?" The blond man ignored the woman's words and asked with his head tilted.
"I have cracked the writing system and programming language here, and seized control of the fleet below. I am now collecting relevant information on the Internet. I have found some very interesting things." The woman smiled and waved her hand. The thin metal skirt on her body separated into a piece of nail-sized fragment, projecting a series of virtual images in the air.
The screen showed a video of mechanical life forms that looked somewhat familiar to them, engaging in local conflicts with the civilized groups on this planet.
"Is this also your tribe? It seems like they have their own consciousness." The blond man turned around and looked at the tall mechanical humanoid creatures on the screen, and looked at his raised left wrist with some curiosity.
He did not forget that the thing in his hand was an antique dug out from a certain universe.
"Don't compare me to them! It's an insult!" The metallic voice was clearly tinged with anger. "Compared to me, they are even more different than monkeys are from you! My people are the Lord's creations, we are His weapons! And they? They are obviously just some crudely made toys, casually made to appease their little masters."
"You keep talking about your Lord, but you never reveal any information about Him to us." The woman spoke softly, wanting to learn more from the metallic voice.
"That is not an existence you can reach. Knowing too much is not a good thing for you." The metallic voice turned cold.
"Okay, okay, let's change the subject. Where is that thing? You asked us to do it, and we have paid a huge price to help you do it. So what's the next plan? You can't be unsure where that thing is, right?" Seeing the woman opposite her raised her hand high, the blond man asked while looking at the watch on his hand.
"If my real body is here, of course I can determine its location immediately! As creatures of the same Lord, there is a certain connection between us! But I have only entered a set sub-body program, and my body is just a small box you made for me. I need time. What I can be sure of is that it is on this planet! It is hidden in a certain area of this continent." The metallic voice said with certainty.
"Their technology looks somewhat similar to the one you once provided us, so we can make an assumption that the thing has fallen into the hands of the civilization on this planet, or that various targeted research is being conducted. Do we need to identify the various secret core laboratories and bases on this planet?" The blond man looked at the woman.
"Give me some time. In order to avoid being deported immediately, I can't use a lot of force and means. The safest way is to use the hardware and network here to conduct an investigation. I am upgrading and optimizing the program of the fleet." Countless fine metal wires under the woman's skirt penetrated the ground and extended to the underground of the floor.
"Those [toys] also seem to be searching for something. I think their goal is the same as ours. Perhaps they will have more accurate information?" The blond man looked at the paused screen, at the humanoid giant full of mechanical beauty in the screen, and said thoughtfully.
"They are by-products of the cube! The energy of the cube gives them consciousness and soul, but they are also limited by the cube. You can find one to ask." The metallic voice gave a reply.
"I have locked onto their energy fluctuations, some of which are in this city. Coincidentally, I found one nearby." A dense stream of data flashed across the woman's eyes, a smile appeared on her face, and she projected a three-dimensional map in the air.
…
boom!
The barricade, blasted from its police car form into Decepticon form, collapsed to the ground in a heap, sparks billowing from its body. Its mechanical eyes stared blankly at a blond man emerging from the darkness. He still couldn't comprehend how this seemingly frail native had managed to inflict harm upon him with a single blow.
"You are looking for the cube, right?" The blond man used a strange language when talking about the cube. It was silent, but could be understood by all conscious and computing machines.
"How do you know our ancient language?" The right arm of the barricade collapsed inward, and as the delicate parts rotated, a shining gun muzzle was revealed.
"Kneel down/Submit to [Absolute Command]."
The barricade suddenly seemed to hear a metallic sound. This piece of data information was like a key, unlocking the underlying logic imprinted deep in its soul, causing it to subconsciously give up the counterattack, as if obeying the orders of a messenger from God. The tall metal body fell to one knee on the ground, as if its body had been deprived of control.
"Where is the cube?" the metallic voice asked.
"We are also looking for it! We have already got some clues." Barricade was terrified that he could not control himself. In response to the metallic voice's question, he told all the intelligence and information he had.
"How ridiculous! As toys, you actually dare to try to find the city built by the Lord! Without the key, your failure is inevitable!" The metallic voice showed obvious disdain for the Decepticons' purpose.
"Remember what you promised us." The blond man couldn't help but speak.
"Of course I remember! I only need the materials and technology inside to restore my damaged body. It was just a research laboratory that was abandoned and sealed by the Lord. Our cooperation was very pleasant, so I allow you to collect some of the remaining technology inside. This is the contract between me and the empire behind you."
