Chapter 9 - Kurtuluo [Part 2]

"This is absurd! A corporation actually managed to build a Jaeger! And it's a sixth-generation model, surpassing the most advanced fifth-generation Jaegers! When did the World become so fantastical?"

After integrating an unfamiliar Jaeger into the PPDC's Jaeger combat data platform system via the application system, Cai Tiantong still found it hard to believe. He considered himself a genius, but he never imagined that he could enable a corporation to build a Jaeger, not even a technically mature fourth-generation model!

The cost was too high.

Just the core team for maintaining, repairing, and building a single Jaeger would number at least several hundred people at its peak! Besides that, there were numerous other teams, clearly divided by labor, dependent on this project. Just thinking about the required construction capital, technical strength, human resources, supporting factories, and industrial capability would drive any corporate manager insane.

Currently, the Jaeger project is something only nations can afford!

If the information was true, then Shao Industries had shattered that perception.

"I don't care how Shao Industries and Dr. Luke Field managed it. As long as their Jaeger can help us clear out Kaiju, I won't question anything," Stacker said, his gaze deep, as he watched the increasingly intense battle on the virtual screen. Over the years, with a large portion of funding diverted to the construction of the Kaiju Wall project, he had even resorted to black market trading of Kaiju carcasses for money to maintain the PPDC's operations and Jaeger maintenance. What else was there for him to care about?

His only obsession was to eliminate the Kaiju and find a way to close the wormhole at the bottom of the Pacific.

Whoever could help him on this path was his friend!

"Hold on, Rogue, headquarters said new support will arrive soon." Crimson Typhoon moved forward to help, encouraging the battered Shaolin Rogue. However, a moment of distraction while speaking allowed the Kaiju Hatchet, which had been wary of Crimson Typhoon, to seize the opportunity. It let go of Shaolin Rogue, taking a few more wounds on its body, and grabbed Crimson Typhoon's mechanical arm, then lifted it high and slammed it down!

Fortunately, Crimson Typhoon adjusted its angle mid-air, its metallic waist twisting 180 degrees, turning from back to front. In the Kaiju Hatchet's bewildered little eyes, it flipped over and kicked, its thick mechanical leg pressing against the Kaiju's waist and abdomen, directly flinging it away.

Roar!

Having failed to slam its opponent and instead being flung itself, the Kaiju Hatchet, which had crashed heavily into the Water, angrily flipped itself over. Its entire body swelled with rapid, high-frequency breathing, and the ridges of its muscles and yellow arteries became even clearer and more prominent. The charging Shaolin Rogue was slapped to the ground by it, and one of its metal mechanical arms was violently torn off. After dropping the broken mechanical arm, it stepped on Shaolin Rogue's chest and directly clawed at the Jaeger's head. If Crimson Typhoon hadn't once again come forward to intervene, Shaolin Rogue's head would have almost been torn off by the enraged Kaiju Hatchet with its bare claws.

"Be careful! Its strength has increased!" One of Shaolin Rogue's mechanical arms was torn off, and the Jaeger's energy shield suffered some damage from the heavy stomping it endured earlier, significantly reducing its combat effectiveness. With the Kaiju Hatchet clearly enraged, if the Jaeger dared to move forward in its current state, the two pilots would truly have to bid farewell to their beloved Shaolin Rogue in the Water.

Fortunately, Shaolin Rogue's pilots had already received a warning from the PPDC, or rather, they didn't even need a warning; they saw an unfamiliar Jaeger rapidly falling with a tail flame in the distance on the Jaeger's virtual screen projection.

It was a peculiar Jaeger with a skull-shaped head, and three eyes on its head that together occupied half of its facial area. Its back was humped, bulging high. Judging by the armor thickness, it seemed to be a durable fighter, capable of both taking hits and dishing them out. It could perfectly replace their Shaolin Rogue, attracting Fire at the front and creating opportunities for Crimson Typhoon to attack.

"Brother…"

The Shaolin Rogue's pilot brothers were about to greet the newcomer, offering some intelligence and tactical assistance, but before they could finish, a huge red Shadow flew past them on their virtual screen, next to the new Jaeger. After crashing through a floor, a small part of its body was buried in the rubble.

The next moment, the Kaiju Hatchet, which had knocked Crimson Typhoon away, charged forward furiously, intending to finish it off. When it encountered the new obstruction, it pushed off with its lower limbs, jumping directly into the air, and slammed both arms down heavily towards the newly arrived Jaeger.

Thud!

Kurtulu raised both arms, bent his knees slightly, and his internal energy system outputted at full power. To everyone's stunned gaze, the Kaiju Hatchet, which had seemed unstoppable in its rage, actually entered a stalemate with Kurtulu, as if in a test of strength.

The Kaiju Hatchet now only regretted that it was an upright type without a tail. If it had a tail, while its hands were pinned by the opponent, it could at least deliver a tail slap. It also regretted not having certain special long-range attack organs on its body; unfortunately, it was a pure strength type. However, it still had a trump card, its ultimate trump card it was designed with! It could fly!

The skin under its armpits suddenly cracked, and the Kaiju Hatchet's furious body began to shrink as if deflating, but pterodactyl-like wings appeared in the eyes of the World for the first time. It prepared to take this iron lump that wouldn't let go of it into the sky, to let it fully experience the romance of soaring through the sky and the despair of a Planet falling.

However, the next moment, before the Kaiju Hatchet's flapping wings could generate enough propulsion, its four pairs of eyes once again saw its opponent, bewildered, extend two slender mechanical arms from its back, like skeletal structures without muscle tissue. What surprised it even more was that the palms of these two slender mechanical arms each held a bright, glowing blue energy orb, which one glance would tell you was called [Don't Touch Me].

So the Kaiju Hatchet struggled even harder, but Kurtulu's movements were faster. The two mechanical arms extending from its back directly thrust the energy orbs in their palms forcefully into Hatchet's large mouth, while the other was pressed into a wound on its chest, cut open by Crimson Typhoon.

Blinding light flared within the Kaiju Hatchet's body. The wound cut by Crimson Typhoon's saw-blade seemed to become an outlet for the chaotic energy within it, with tendrils of electric light snaking out like branches. Under the dark clouds, the Kaiju Hatchet looked like a glowing hedgehog, exceptionally eye-catching.

More than ten seconds passed, and the Kaiju Hatchet, which had been constantly struggling, was now motionless, like a lump of rotting flesh, its feet off the ground, held high in the air by Kurtulu.

"Monster vital signs have disappeared."

PPDC, Cai Tiantong reported somewhat numbly. Stacker beside him also stared blankly at the peculiar Jaeger in the virtual projection, his eyes sparkling with light.

Shao Industries.

The core area of the G3 Hunter Factory.

Shao Zhiwen rushed in with his people, in a fiery hurry. As soon as he entered, he saw Luke Field taking off the Drift helmet from his head. He looked around in surprise, wanting to find the person who could Drift with Luke Field. However, among those wearing equipment, only Luke Field was present.
