As her pulse picked up ,the doctor and the nurses scrambled to check the patient who was now writhing in pain with a hint of surprise in their eyes. The previous day the patient's vitals had been failing and now everything was different,she seemed to be recovering at a very fast rate. As Elisa's eyes flew open a hint of panic flashed through her eyes as she quickly took a look of her unfamiliar surroundings, white walls and the familiar scent of medicine.
The last thing Elisa remembered was falling off her balcony after her sister had pushed her off and her body hitting the floor, the excruciating pain she felt and her blood spilling everywhere. She had also been poisoned, she thought as a cold glare flashed through her eyes.
She had thought about this in a second but was soon distracted by the glow that almost blinded her….and the glow happened to be coming from her hand?
Surprised, she backed away a little only to see the light fading and saw that it came from what looked exactly like her bracelet. Her confusion grew. Questions swirled round her mind. She had gotten an exact replica of this bracelet from her grandmother who only told her that it was some sort of good luck charm. She could recall that she had seen this bracelet somewhere else, but she couldn't quite place it.
Elisa watched as the light from the bracelet faded into nothing , and slowly the bracelet followed suit and she could no longer see it again. She could feel her back grow cold at what had just happened. Before she could get her thoughts and herself together, the door burst open and she could see people rushing the room in a frenzy.
She could see four unfamiliar people at the moment, who were staring at her with relief and joy in their eyes.
The slightly older woman in the company of the people who had just rushed into the ward came forward rushing to hold her hands, her eyes red and glistening with unshed tears as she asked "Ashley, are you alright dear?"
Elisa looked at her with a gaze of unfamiliarity in her eyes, as she thought 'who is this woman and why the hell did she refer to me as Ashley?'
She took a second look at the woman and a wave of familiarity washed over her. Then something struck. Throwing the cover off her body, she ran to the bathroom and locked the door, leaving everyone awestruck.
Slowly, Elisa approached the mirror and when she got a look of herself, it wasn't ….her
"WHAT THE FUCK" She couldn't hold her shock so she screamed loudly and everything went blank.
...
"Doctor, is she alright?" Elisa could hear voices as she slowly opened her eyes, adjusting to the light of the room.
"She's awake", someone said in an effort to notify the others who weren't paying attention to her.
Elisa looked around. 'Wait, it wasn't a dream?' she thought. She was really in the body of someone else? Who is the owner of this body? Why was she in this body? What's going on? So many unanswered questions and the more she thought about it, her head hurt the more.
"I'll advise you to let her rest one at a time, please", The doctor advised. "She'll have to be on wheelchair because of the fractures on her legs"
"Huh?" Everyone looked so confused. "She.. ran"
"It could happen ma'am. She probably experienced an adrenaline rush, "the doctor explained.
The rest of the people left, leaving behind the older woman who moved to sit beside her. "Are you okay?" She asked. "You gave all of us a scare" The woman grabbed her hands and placed them on hers.
"I'm sorry mom" Elisa responded subconsciously. In realization at what she had said, her eyes flew open. Wait a minute. She knew this woman. She was her mom. Or rather, the mom of the owner of the body.
"It's alright my dear. We're just happy that you're fine". The woman said and embraced her.
Elisa hasn't felt like this in a while. A feeling of safety and warmth. She didn't realize when a tear left her eye, and upon realizing, she wiped them off.
"Ashley, your siblings want to see you now, is that alright?"
A wave of guilt enveloped her as the woman called her Ashley. She couldn't tell her that wasn't her daughter. But, if she was inside the body of this supposed 'Ashley', could it be that her body is being possessed by the soul of Ashley?
"Mm?" The woman looked at her, waiting for a response and she remembered she asked her a question.
"Uh.. " she thought. Was she ready to see someone else's sibling? How was she to act around them? But she couldn't reject it, that would be weird, right? "I want to see them!"
Ashley's mum excitedly exits the room and returns in less than five seconds, with three other people.
She watched them, hoping to get a little sneak peak of Ashley's memories so she doesn't mess up, but nothing came to mind.
"Sis?" .. God knows who was trying to speak to her. She seemed to be older than the other lady since she had a matured look, while the other lady had a babyish look; she still had some baby fat on her cheeks and it was adorable.
They both had black hair, but the babyish looking one had some curls on hers, whereas the slightly matured looking one had straight hair. All these couldn't help her. She didn't know their names. How does she get them to say their names?
"My head hurts," Elisa complained as she held her head. "Oh water" the babyish looking one said as she tried to help. With her side eye, Elisa pretended to reach for the same cup and as a result, it fell.
"Ouwww"
"Wendy, be careful"
"YESSS!" Elisa said, but then everyone went quiet. Wait a minute, did she just say that out loud? "I mean, it's not her fault" She lowered her voice as she spoke, feeling embarrassed on the inside.
Well, that aside, she now knew one of their names. From the look of it, she could tell that Ashley and her brother weren't close. Since he stepped in, he hadn't even spared her a glance and has been busy with his phone. Looking closely, his ears were even blocked by earphones.
Clouded by thoughts, Elisa didn't notice when they stepped out of the room, leaving her to herself.
When she realized it, she decided to get some rest when the door opened and Ashley's mom walked in. "Ashley, your husband is here"

'I'M MARRIED? WAIT NO, ASHLEY'S MARRIED???' Elisa screamed in her mind.
Her anticipation built as her mum shifted to the side for the person to walk in, and her eyes almost budged out of her sockets when she saw who it was.
'SHE'S MARRIED TO ETHAN WALKER?'
'THE ETHAN WALKER?'
