"You're a step away from adulthood, stop acting like a child !".
He complained bitterly.
"Pretty please ". Sally left the couch she was sitting on amd came to sit really close to him.
"I said no and that's final". He replied with a straight face.
Who was the mysterious person Sally was begging furiously and why was she so hell-bent on begging??.
Well, it was because she was busy pleading with the straight faced Alouis .
And why did she engage in this hopeless parade?
Because of one thing or should I say one person.
Fifteen minutes ago, approximately 7:30pm, they got a little info from Melissa about a magic show going down by 8pm, the others couldn't care less, but Sally's whole life depended on that show.
Ever since she was just a little girl, she had always been intrigued by magicians. She loved magic shows more than even ice cream.
She didn't wish to watch the show alone so she asked the others to accompany her and they agreed without too much pleading.
But that wasn't the case for Alouis, he totally disliked magicians, because according to him he could see through all their 'magic shows'.
"Why call it a magic show, if it can't even defile logic". He would says anytime Sally tries to tag him along on her 'magical adventures'.
This time,his rejection was even more stronger because according to him 'he was busy' .
"You possibly can't say no to such a pretty face". She said with a flirtatious tone and drew even closer looking through his glasses and staring deeply into his dark blue eyes.
*His eyes are always so dim but today there's a fire burning in them, how pretty!*. Sally thought with a smile.
"Whoever told you that crap, is definitely the best liar on this planet ". Alouis replied adjusting his glasses while scrolling through his phone.
"What'd you mean?'. She asked confused.
"I mean whoever told you, you're pretty is a really experienced liar". He explained.
"Hey!!, you could have just refused, there was no need for the insult". Sally frowned.
"That's exactly what I've been trying to do". He muttered silently.
"I was just stating facts, no need to be so angry". He calmly replied.
"You!!!!".
"Girl, you already have seven people following you, what more do you want do you want , do you want us to walk in like a pack of sardines ". He suddenly turned to her and she redrew a little.
"But we're a team, we go everywhere together ".
"Not everywhere, there are so many places I go that you've never been to ". Alouis replied.
"That was when we weren't a team " .
"Nope!, even after becoming a team I've still gone to many places without you, for instance I'm leaving to my room for a nice and pleasant nap and you can't follow me there". Alouis stood up and headed for the door.
The others just simply watched but refused to interfere.
"I'll buy you a new VR set". She quickly blurted out.
Alouis instantly turned around.
"I'm listening ".
"The show is scheduled for just two hours, if you accompany me I'll not just get you a new VR set I'll also help you with whatever you want for a week ".
"So please follow me to the show". She pleaded.
"Not fair, I also want something ". Lucian playfully added.
"Shut it!". Sally glared at him and Lucian immediately sealed his lips.
"I don't know why you really want me to go with ya so badt, but I definitely can't resist such an offer so, it's a deal". He brought his hand forth for a handshake to seal the agreement.
"Deal!". Sally said with a lovely smile.
Few minutes later,
"I present to you our entertainer for the evening, ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for Mr Maguire and his lovely assistant, Miss Lianna".
The host announced and majority of the audience clapped.
"What is this, some sort of contest?". Alouis muttered quietly as he stared at his game with his headphones on.
"That reminds me, Everling on the day of our arrival, you spoke of a competition if I recall correctly". Varian spoke to Everling who sat beside him.
Each row in the cinema had eight seats.
At the left edge sat Varian, beside him was Everling, Taylia sat directly beside her, Lucian sat close to Taylia, while Vincent sat close to Lucian. The other three seats were taken by the time they got there.
Directly behind Varian was Alouis,beside him sat Sally and close to her was Lucy and Bryan.
"Yeah that's pretty much true".
"But we're just four hours away from returning home and we still haven't heard of anything like that".
Everling simply shrugged,
"Don't think too much about it, I'm sure he was just drunk".
"Who??". Varian asked.
"I'm referring to the man who told us ; I and Sally ".
"Oh, but why'd you say so". Varian asked again.
"Well because he wore glasses even though he was already wearing a mask, not just that but he also had this weird black umbrella and spoke in a slurry manner ...
"Yeah, the creep just walked up to us and starting blabbering about a contest ". Sally interrupted Everling.
"Our brains just zoned out when he was speaking, it was soooo boring, the only words we managed to pick out was 'contest, island, you'll understand, very soon', so we just combined it all up into what we told guys ". Sally continued.
"How strange ". Varian muttered, not giving it an more space in his mind, he went back to watching the show almost instantly.
That was just how ELX behaved, they never thought too much on a topic.
"Wow!, this is just amazing!". Alouis commented.
"You think the show is amazing!, ". Sally smiled.
"They just started and you already think it's amazing ". Her smile widened.
"What?, what the heck are you talking about, why in the world would I think such trash is amazing, ... The only thing that's amazing here is MY game, not whatever that is ". He replied with a disgusted look.
"What's so interesting about your game". Sally sighed as she muttered quietly.
"Everything!".
*Here he goes again, blabbering on and on *. Sally thought.
"You know that moment when you feel like an overpowered mc?".
"Yeah that happens to me a lot ". Sally prolonged the 'alot' in a fit to make it seem like she actually cared.
"But just because all the villains are straight up weaklings, until you eventually meet 'that' particular villain and you have that breathtaking final match". He added enough sound effects to actually make it sound cool.
"Yes, that's just sooo amazing ". The sarcasm in her voice was very much indent.
"Wow! you actually get it". He stared at her and she nodded .
"Of course, I do".
*Never heard of sarcasm, fool*. But she didn't dare say it out loud.
"That's exactly what's happening to me". He continued
" I'm fighting against another extremely good player such as myself and I'm so pumped up ".
"So who won?". She asked.
"It's split into three rounds,we just finished the first one and it was a tie , but now we have to fight another five different players before we get to per up again ". Alouis explained.
"Uhn, such a bummer, I'm sure if you both knew each other, you'll be.....
"Totally vibing, I know". Alouis interrupted her.
"But sadly the only thing I know is his account name 'Fd' and his millions of cool weapons, he must have really spent a fortune on these baddies". Alouis drooled all over his weapons.
Alouis was that kind of gamer who had more skill than weapons. Everything in the game ( Hero's journey)was pretty much expensive and the first time he spent two million on it, he nearly got killed by ELX, so buying awesome weapons wasn't really an option, but this mysterious 'fd' seemed like a person who had money, a lot of money to throw around.

"Woah!!, this was the best match I've had in days". A certain famous someone said .
"Argh!, focus Fad, we're supposed to pay close attention to the audience not play games ".
"Or have you forgotten, the little tip we got said that there was going to be a ..." . Sen didn't finish his sentence in order to create 'suspense' .
"Come on, there's too many people here for us to search". Fad complained.
"That's why we're been assisted, Jane and two other guards are searching the CCTV cameras, while the others guards are searching the area". Sen explained.
"Then why are we here?, they already have it under control, and besides I haven't felt such adrenaline rush in weeks". Fad answered in his usual playful attitude.

"I'm going to the wash room, be right back". Alouis stood up and went into the male washroom.
Finishing his business, he washed his hand and was out of the room when suddenly everything turned pitch black, the lights went off, windows shut and the floor shaking.
But a few seconds later it stopped and the door opened as if tempting him to walk through.
Without a second option, he had no choice but to walk through the door.
"Huh". He sighed .
"Where am I now". He looked around.
"Ta-da!, how did you enjoy your ride, hope it wasn't too rough I tried my best to make it comfortable". A strange but familiar ( to Alouis only) voice was heard behind him .
Alouis turned around and figured out he was on top of what seemed like a tall building, since it was night time it was supposed to be dark, but due to the lights from the neighbouring bulidings everywhere was bright.
But it wasn't like Alouis needed any amount of light to recognize that voice.
Instead of replying, he rather searched around for an exit, but saw none.
"It's been a whole six years , did you miss me, brother ?".
The voice drew closer and gave Alouis a deadly smile.
