Synopsis
Thanos isn’t just a person, he’s a symbol. A symbol that strikes fear into the hearts of the entire Avengers... and even the universe itself. When the scales of justice and fairness begin to tip, and no one steps forward to correct that imbalance... Then inevitably, every ending will lead to destruction. And that’s when Rory appeared. Unintentionally shattering a delicate equilibrium. When three different Captain Americas stood before him at the same time. When both the Ancient One and Doctor Strange, two Sorcerer Supremes, manifested together. When a thousand Avengers emerged at the same moment in the same timeline. Rory knew… He was in deep trouble.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Brushing Shoulders with the Future

My name is Rory, and yeah, I'm kind of a walking disaster.

Oh, and I'm also a mad scientist.

During one of my experiments, the city's maintenance team decided to randomly cut the power. The blackout triggered a medium-sized accident in the lab. The next thing I knew… boom, ascension. I got isekai'd straight into the ranks of the multiverse travelers.

But I wasn't just unlucky, I was lucky too.

Because I landed in the Marvel Universe.

A world where the laws of science basically pack up and leave.

Naturally, I was thrilled.

The good news? I'd have all the room I needed to let my genius shine.

The bad news? I landed in the year 1969, exactly 43 years before the Battle of New York in 2012.

If I lived long enough to see that moment, I'd be pushing 70. Honestly, by the time Thanos snapped his fingers, I'd probably already be dead of old age.

But since I was already here… how could I accept a future like that?

So I spent an entire year planning something big: a covert infiltration of the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) secret base hidden beneath a military facility in New Jersey.

My goal? To unlock the secrets of the Tesseract and see the vast, endless universe with my own eyes.

Summer of 1970 , New Jersey Military Base

Rory crouched behind a stack of supply crates, face half-obscured by a fake beard and oversized aviators. The disguise worked well, no one would've guessed he had an Asian face under all that.

He kept his cap pulled low, eyes locked onto a steel door marked E47 not far ahead.

First, he had to slip past the guards and reach that door. Then, crack the elevator code to access the SSR's underground facility. After that? Locate the warehouse storing the 084s.

S.H.I.E.L.D. had a habit of collecting bizarre and powerful items… then leaving them to rot in a basement. What a waste.

Timing it just right, Rory pulled several small bottles wrapped in copper coils from his backpack and scattered them across various parts of the base.

Then he slipped into the mess hall. While the cooks were outside smoking and chatting, he stuffed an unidentifiable lump of something into the microwave, set the timer and heat… and vanished.

Circling back to the SSR entrance, he crouched near a corner and stared at his watch, silently counting down.

Five. Four. Three. Two. One,

BOOM!

A deafening blast ripped through the mess hall, fire lighting up the sky.

The shockwave rolled all the way to Rory's position.

As the base descended into chaos, soldiers yelling, people scrambling, alarms blaring, Rory made his move.

While the guards rushed toward the explosion, he darted through the iron door, yanked out a screwdriver, and popped open the elevator's control panel.

For the engineers of 1970, the internal wiring would've looked like an alien language. But to Rory, it was child's play.

Snipping one wire and connecting it to another, then bridging two points with a bent paperclip, he bypassed the elevator's controller.

Whirrr,

The elevator powered up.

He quickly sealed the panel, smoothed out his uniform, and stood in front of the doors like he belonged there.

Ding.

As the elevator opened, Rory adjusted his fake ID badge and walked out as if everything were perfectly normal.

Unfortunately, he hadn't been able to get the blueprints ahead of time, so he wandered aimlessly through the corridors, memorizing doorplates and layouts.

At one unguarded secretary desk, he casually snatched up a coffee cup and took a fake sip, just enough to look busy while quietly surveying his surroundings.

Eventually, he reached a T-junction at the end of the hall. Two staff members emerged from a room on the right, so Rory instinctively turned left.

Just as he was about to double back, something caught his eye, a door marked 084.

Not a high-tech lock, just an old-school cruciform keyhole.

Perfect.

He retrieved his lockpicks and gently worked the pins inside the cylinder.

But just then, a patrolling guard spotted him and slowed down, eyeing Rory with suspicion. His hand drifted to his holster.

Click.

Fortunately, Rory was faster. The lock clicked open and he slipped inside, the guard's suspicion fading as the door closed behind him.

Inside was another long corridor lined with offices, leading to a massive storage room at the far end.

It matched the layout from the movie perfectly.

"Whew…"

Rory exhaled, relieved.

But it wasn't time to relax. He entered the storage area and began scanning the space.

The warehouse was enormous, cluttered with endless crates and junk. But Rory's memory was sharp, he knew exactly what to look for.

Behind two glowing crates was a third, smaller, duller, but much more important.

That was the one.

Now came the hard part, opening it.

"Iron Man has fancy tech to cut through stuff… I've got a screwdriver," Rory muttered.

He inspected the lock.

"Electronic code?"

"No… offset dials. No reset function."

He removed the side panel and traced the wiring.

"Signal switch?"

"No mechanical override. If the base loses power, the whole unit locks down. So cutting power won't work."

He pondered.

Binary logic: 0 and 1. If the keypad has digits 0 through 9 and a 10-digit password, that's 10 to the 10th power, ten billion possible combinations.

No way he could brute force it.

Instead, Rory dismantled a nearby crate, extracted a tiny diode, and wired it to the target crate's signal board.

Then, with steady hands, he touched the wire to the power node.

Zzzzt.

A spark jumped.

Clunk.

"Got it!!" Rory's eyes lit up.

The metal crate hissed open with a hydraulic hiss, revealing a faint blue glow that lit up his face.

"Whoa… the Tesseract. So beautiful, so illegal."

He didn't make the same mistake Red Skull did, touching it barehanded. That guy got beamed to Vormir and turned into a soul stone ghost forever.

Rory emptied a briefcase, used metal clips to pick up the Tesseract, and gently placed it inside.

He shut the crate, locked it again, and reassembled the cover.

"Mission accomplished."

Clapping his hands in satisfaction, Rory hoisted the briefcase and retraced his steps.

Elsewhere…

"You weren't born here, were you?"

"The idea of me was."

"Well, let's say you're S.H.I.E.L.D., and you want to hide something like HYDRA inside a government structure, where do you stash it?"

"In plain sight," Steve Rogers answered, glancing toward the hidden SSR base.

Using time travel tech, Captain America and Iron Man wandered through the base, quietly exchanging thoughts.

In the end, it was Steve who located the original S.H.I.E.L.D. facility.

Tony tapped his glasses twice. X-ray and thermal scans lit up in his view. Behind a wall marked E47 was a working elevator.

They exchanged a look and headed that way.

At that moment…

Rory stood in front of the elevator.

Ding.

The doors slid open, revealing three people inside.

As Rory prepared to enter, his eyes went wide in shock.

Steve Rogers. Tony Stark. And… a third agent.

"Good luck with your mission, Cap."

"You too, Doc."

Rory instantly recognized them, and panicked inside.

But he kept cool, stepped into the elevator, and stood near the doors.

The Black woman beside him was busy chatting with Steve and didn't pay him much attention.

"You new here?" she asked Steve with a smile.

Rory turned his head slightly, feigning curiosity, just like a normal person would.

Steve offered a tight-lipped smile. "Not exactly."

The three rode the elevator down.

Rory stepped out first, briefcase in hand. When he spotted the restroom sign, he immediately ducked in.

In a stall, he slipped off his shades and set them on the floor. Through the reflection, he spotted Steve waiting by the bathroom door.

"Pym Particles?"

Rory hadn't expected this… a time-traveling Cap and Stark? At the same moment?

A plan started forming in his head.

A minute later, noises echoed from the hallway. Steve spotted Dr. Pym leaving in a hurry and slipped out to follow him.

Rory replaced his glasses and moved out quietly.

Steve scanned the area and, seeing no one watching, entered Dr. Pym's lab.

He searched around until he found what he needed, the Pym Particles.

Just as he reached out,

"Soldier, what do you think you're doing?"

Whoosh.

Steve spun around, only to find Rory standing behind him.

The same guy from the elevator.

Rory tilted his head innocently. "Curious?"

Steve fumbled for words, but Rory helped him out.

"Careful, soldier. That's Dr. Pym's work. You shouldn't be messing with it."

"I was just… curious."

"Look," Rory said, waving him off. "There's nothing for you here. Better head out before Dr. Pym returns and flips his lid. He might even fire you."
