Chapter 40 - A Request

I smiled gently and walked forward a little, stopping slightly closer to where Najenda was sitting, making her raise her brows. Her body tensed as she couldn't guess what I was about to do, but I stopped right in front of her and gave a small bow.

"Please, I need you to help my other friends!" I said. Najenda's body suddenly relaxed as she exhaled softly, muttering something under her breath.

"Ah, is that what you wanted to talk to me about? I was so worried, haha. Don't worry, I've already told Lubbock to look into it," Najenda laughed lightly.

"I didn't fully tell you the truth. In reality, my friends weren't really lost. Due to Tatsumi's bad behavior of abandoning us when we were attacked, we decided to teach him a lesson. My friends, Sayo and Ieyasu, are currently staying in a hotel in the Empire," I said in a soft yet stern voice while Najenda listened patiently.

"I see… so that was all to teach Tatsumi a lesson. It's very bad to abandon one's comrades, so I'd say you did very well. But now, what do you want me to do for you?" Najenda asked.

"Well, I don't know if you can also recruit my friends into your team," I said with a slight bow.

Najenda looked at me silently for a few moments, then readjusted her sitting position.

"The truth is, we only pick people with exceptional talent to join our team. We are a special assassination unit of the Revolutionary Army, an army that opposes the current regime, so we choose the best. You and Tatsumi were highly recommended. Akame recommended both of you, supported by Leone, who was also watching and impressed by your skills. If the people you're talking about don't possess exceptional abilities like you two, I would simply refer them to another division of the Revolutionary Army. Is that fine with you?" Najenda asked.

"To be honest, Sayo and Ieyasu aren't as skilled as me and Tatsumi, but they aren't bad either. If you can place them anywhere in the Revolutionary Army, I'd really appreciate it," I said, giving another light bow. Gotta lick this bitch ass for now.

Life is turn by turn, they say, right? When it's my turn, she'll be on the ground sucking my balls while I nut all over her face.

"Alright, Okun. I give you permission to go into the capital and bring them back. I'll take them to the Revolutionary Army camp myself," Najenda said.

"Thank you very much, Najen— ahem, boss!" I quickly corrected myself, but Najenda raised her brows.

"How do you know my name?" she asked.

Fuck.

"Sorry about that. Leone told me your name when I asked about it. I mean, I wouldn't want to work for a beautiful and mysterious person without even knowing her name," I said, rubbing the back of my head awkwardly.

"Ah, I see… Y-You can leave now," Najenda said, trying to sound tough, though the faint blush on her face gave her away.

Obliging, I walked out of the room.

After Okun left, Najenda's eyes remained fixed on the door. A small smile bloomed on her lips as her face flushed slightly.

"What is that boy's deal? Even though he's younger than me, his gaze and demeanor feel far older, like someone experienced with many women. He's worse than Lubbock," Najenda muttered as she rose from her seat.

She had a hidden kink and preference for confident, sexually perverted men, which was why she had taken an interest in Lubbock and even considered starting a relationship with him after achieving her goals. But after seeing Okun, who was a hundred times worse than Lubbock with his sharp confidence and daring attitude, she couldn't explain how she felt. Still, her goals mattered most.

After leaving Najenda's chamber, I met Leone at the doorway, her back resting against the wall. Looking at her, I suddenly remembered something I had overlooked. The reason Leone wore short dresses was because of her Teigu, Lionelle, a belt-like weapon that transformed parts of her body into those of a beast, granting enhanced strength and agility. If she were fully clothed during transformation, her clothes would be torn to shreds.

A perverted smile crossed my lips as I imagined the possibilities of what we could do in her beast form, hehehe.

"Are you done?" she asked.

"Yeah," I replied, grabbing Leone's hand.

"Aren't you hungry?" Leone suddenly asked.

"Well, I wouldn't say I'm not hungry," I said with a chuckle. "Do you want to cook?" I added.

"Cook, eh? The thing is—"

"Leone sucks at cooking," Mine suddenly interrupted from behind us, walking past and stopping in front of us.

"Mine!" Leone exclaimed, gritting her teeth. I was even tired of Mine at this point.

"Eh? Am I lying, Leone? All you know how to do is eat. You've never made a proper meal, hmph," Mine snorted before power-walking away.

"I… I'm sorry. I'm not very good at cooking," Leone apologized shyly after Mine embarrassed her.

"That's fine. I kinda suck at cooking too. My mom spoiled me along with my other wives, so I never really learned," I said, gently rubbing Leone's hand to ease her embarrassment. I wasn't lying either.

"I see…" Leone muttered. Soon after, following Mine, we reached a large section of the castle, a wide kitchen.

I saw Akame standing with a frown, her arms folded, while Sheele muttered to herself. Bulat and Lubbock were chatting in one corner like gossiping old men, while Mine was bantering with Tatsumi.

"There are too many mouths to feed now. I don't think I can keep cooking for everyone again. Maybe someone else should take over," Akame said seriously. Everyone sucked in a cold breath, I could instantly tell Akame was the best cook here. And to make matters worse, everyone was hungry.

"Oi, pervert! You and Tatsumi should cook since you're our juniors," Mine suddenly said, pointing at me with puffed cheeks.

Sigh.

"Washboard, do you have a problem with me or something? Besides, I don't know how to cook. However, Tatsumi here is a great cook and can make decent meals!" I said, shifting the focus to Tatsumi while leaving Mine heartbroken with that nickname.

"OKUN-SAMA!" Tatsumi exclaimed in shock, trying to protest, but all the hungry eyes were already on him.

Fufufu…

"Tatsumi, are you going to cook, or keep me company in my room?" Bulat suddenly said, instantly making Tatsumi cringe as his face darkened.

"I'll cook right away!" Tatsumi shouted, immediately getting to work and chopping vegetables like a master chef.

Yuuko really did raise my stepson well, huh. Keke.
