Chapter 0
Morning, noon. At a certain mountain range, hidden from plain sight. There was a facility locked out by a huge white steel mechanical door that opens upward. Inside the facility is an endless white corridor with embedded lights in the wall.
In a certain part of the facility, a line of giant glass tubes, and inside each tube, there is a single human floating in a blue liquid.
Each human inside the glass tube has a masked tube on their mouth used to feed them directly into their mouth. Each one of the people inside the glass tube was unconscious; each tube contains a naked male and a female, each trained to become superhuman soldiers.
Scientists were surrounding the glass tube, monitoring each of their conditions. Failure in this experiment will result in all of their head rolling on the ground.
Each of them wore a lab coat while holding a clipboard, checking something. Some were behind a glass in front of a monitor, checking their status.
"When do you think they're going to be ready?" A bald man was looking in front of the glass tube, and at the top of the glass tube, there was something written on it: Subject 1.
A short-haired woman was writing something down on a clipboard while checking the status of the test subject. "I think, between 3-5 months, they will be ready."
"You think so? The last people who finished their project late got their heads cut off; just remembering it gave me chills." A group of scientists proposed to make an anti-nuclear weapon for the Blood Red Emperor.
The Emperor agreed to this proposal and gave them 6 months to complete the project, but the scientists failed to do so within that time limit, and because of their failure, part of the land governed by the Blood Red was destroyed by a nuclear bomb.
The scientists finished their project, but they were too late. The Emperor was mad by this and decided to cut off their head in front of the people. He was merciless when it came to failure. That's how the Emperor of the Red Empire got the nickname, Blood Red Emperor.
"Well, we are slaves, what can we do?" The woman just shrugged off his concerns about dying, like it were only natural.
"Yeah, you're right. I wish there was something big that's going to happen to set us free." But because of this statement, the universe answered him.
Suddenly, a huge earthquake shook the facility. All the scientists inside the facility fell to the ground. The earthquake hit the facility like a wrecking ball.
The man and the woman lowered their body instinctively. They were too afraid to even move.
"Danger. Danger. A Magnitude 9 earthquake has hit the Earth. All personnel, proceed with the emergency protocol. Please evacuate in an orderly manner. I repeat, A Magnitude 9 earthquake has hit the Earth. All personnel, proceed with the emergency protocol. Please evacuate in an orderly manner."
An announcement was heard all over the facility, and suddenly, the white light was changed to a red light. A blaring sound of a siren for an emergency was heard all over the faculty.
The earthquake stopped for a moment.
"What the hell just happened?" The woman was surprised at what had just happened and started to look around. People were also lowering their bodies to protect themselves from anything that might fall upon them.
"I don't know." The man looks around, also oblivious to what is happening.
"Why did you even wish something big was going to happen?" She remembered his earlier wish that something big was going to happen and blamed him for it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know this was going to happen." He protested, as this was out of his control.
A guard wearing a bulletproof vest with a guard printed at the center of the vest enters the room. He started waving around, telling people to evacuate the facility immediately.
The guards of the facility quickly evacuated the faculty members. "Everyone, don't panic, and follow the emergency procedure just like we practice. Please evacuate in an orderly manner."
The woman looks at the people inside the tube and decides to let them go and put the project on hold.
She quickly ran towards the computer where they monitor the test subject, and started typing.
Seeing what her intentions were, the man quickly called out to his colleagues for help. "Hey guys, we need your help over here."
His colleagues look at him, then look at the tubes he was pointing at. They were going to get the test subjects out before another earthquake hit them.
One by one, the glass tubes' liquid was drained out, and the test subjects were freed, carrying one person on the shoulders of two people. They were slowly taking the test subjects out of the tubes.
When it was the 9th guy's turn, the earthquake suddenly returned. People were scrambling, holding on to the naked test subject on their shoulders.
Suddenly, the draining of water stopped midway. The 9th guy was still stuck in the tube, unable to be opened because of an error.
The 9th guy's tube was just halfway drained. The blue liquid was shaking inside the glass tube. The earthquake was still happening, but not as violently as before.
It stops for a moment. Seizing this moment, the woman quickly called out to the guard.
"Guard, break the glass on the test tube. NOW!" She pointed to both of the glass tubes.
The guard nodded and quickly approached the 9th guy. He took out his baton and quickly broke the glass.
The glass shattered into a million pieces. Water gushed out of the tube, leaving the man lying on the ground.
"Quickly helped me out here." The guard called out to the man beside the woman and started to carry him on his shoulder.
The man who was with the woman observing the test tube quickly rushed over and carried the test subject on his shoulder.
Suddenly, the earthquake happened again, and this time it was much stronger than before. They quickly got out of the room with the 9th guy.
"Ma'am, we need to get out of here." The guard shouted at her while carrying the 9th guy.
The woman looks at the last guy, Subject 10. "What about him?"
She pointed at the last guy while looking concerned. The computer was broken, and the earthquake was getting stronger.
"Ma'am, we don't have much time. We need to go, NOW!" The guard shouted at her while exiting the room, staggering on his feet because the earthquake was getting stronger and stronger.
She bit her lower lip, frustrated about leaving the last guy, but the earthquake was getting stronger and stronger. She can't risk dying in this place; she still has her own family to take care of.
Before she left, she quickly instructed the system to take care of him while they're gone. Leaving the last test subject in the hands of the AI system.
She quickly ran towards the exit, staggering on her feet because of the earthquake. She quickly holds on to the railing and exits the room.
Leaving Subject 10 in the lab naked and floating in some kind of blue liquid. Alone, trapped in a glass tube, surrounded by a blue liquid, and a mask tube on his mouth.
Without knowing when he will be rescued, the blue liquid will allow his body to be preserved in its original condition.
