The news was like salt in the already open wound that his father's death left.
"Is he... really dead?"
Roy could barely think, let alone speak. First his dad then his uncle.
"I'm afraid so."
His uncle had died in a seemingly random attack. It made no sense.
"Officer, where am I going to stay?"
"There's someone at our work who will be taking you. You should know him. His name is Craig Morgan. He was a friend of your father's." Said the policeman.
Roy knew Craig. He was a man who worked very closely with his father.
"Pack a few essentials and we'll head off. We can get everything later."
"Thank you, sir."
He could barely handle two violent events at once. His dad has been killed in a shooting. The reports say he was driving down a remote country road and he ran over some spikes. When he got out, he was shot by unknown man. Roy would've believed it, but he knew it just wasn't true. His father wouldn't have died from a gunshot. The person who fired the gun would be the dead one. His father was stronger than the average person. He was a Chimera.
