Things couldn't have been worse. Just when she was starting to fit in with the others, there's an electric problem and now she has to move and look for a place to stay?! Her roomie can't even help her because apparently, she lives with her foster parents that are extremely strict and hate having guests. She was doomed because her family and home was in another continent.
"Shit" she mumbles, tired of thinking about her life.
She sat outside the dorm with her belongings standing next to her. She'd sighed over twenty times already and shit didn't solve itself.
She had no friends...not yet.
She had no one to trust...not yet.
She decided she'd book a hotel and try to find a solution.
She'd ask how long fixing the wire would take and the reply she got "a few weeks...at least. The problem is really bad and the place can catch fire anytime so it's better we fix everything. We'll try to work fast so you can move back in."
Reassuring but still didn't solve it.
She still sat there pinching her fingers and pouting so as to prevent herself from crying. She was broken... not just because of the room but because of literally all the negative things she could think of about herself and at time like this, she couldn't control her thoughts.
"I'm not gonna cry. No, not now...not like this" she kept telling herself as she pinched her fingers harder and slowly, the tears went back to where they came from.
She still sat on the bench with her luggage beside her when her phone vibrates in her bag.
"Huh..." She was startled but quickly straightened, cleared her throat and quickly removed the phone from her small purse sitting on her lap.
"Am I speaking to Ms Tobi?" A muscular voice asked. This number was a strange number and she tried to be careful as she spoke.
"Yes. I am Ms Tobi" she answered simply while nervously playing with her little purse.
"Good. Professor Kim would like to meet you at her office as soon as possible" the person cut to the chase.
Tobi Jane knew who professor Kim was. She was the lady that told her to be careful and watch out for bad energy when she newly came. What could she possibly want?
"Uh..yes, sir. I'll be there" the person didn't wait and just ended the call.
If she was nervous before...now, she was anxious.
In less than twenty five long minutes, Jane and her luggage stood in front of professor Kim's office.
She knew she didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't be so nervous.
She stood there staring at her sweaty palms and closing her eyes like she was saying some kind of prayer before knocking. After hearing "come in", she opened the door and dragged her luggage inside with her.
She loved how nice the office looked. Neatly arranged desk, luxurious looking chairs and grey walls with pictures of heroes of the school and a frame of a famous quote "a journey of a thousand miles Begins with a step".
Professor Kim sat in her chair looking as elegant as always wearing a pink skirt and blouse that matches her blond hair.
Jane finally came back to her senses when she noticed the middle aged professor looking at her.
"You just love my office so much" she smiled at Jane who was now staring at the sparkling clean floor.
"I do. It's really beautiful, neat and.... yeah" she stopped when she felt like she was talking too much.
"Have a seat, dear" the professor gestured her to sit and she walked towards the chair opposite of the professor's and sat.
The professor put down her pen, exhaled and looked at her.
"I heard the room problem. That's why I called" Jane was still playing with her fingers under the table. Still nervous and shy.
"Do you have a place to go? If you don't, I have an offer for you" professor said without wasting time.
She was already wondering what the offer was. Her head was spinning but she managed to calm herself down
"What offer, professor?" She tried to sound respectful but wasn't quite sure if that came out right.
The professor giggled a little before finally speaking "you'll live in the Ts mansion for as long as you want. There's everything you want there; a pool, library, food and WiFi but I need a favor." An awkward pause. She scanned Jane's face thoroughly and Jane just sat there, mouth wide open looking surprised and curious to know what the favour was. "I just need you to keep and eye on Ryan...my son and also the others but mostly Ryan " she finished
