The three of them leave the village gates. "We're actually going out," says Kate, looking worried. Kaid nudges her and says, "Relax, it'll be fine." Kaito is so excited, he's literally shaking.
They continue forward and they see the trees around them becoming less frequent. After about twenty or so minuets of walking, they exit the forest for the first time ever.
The three of them sit in shock at what they see. "It's empty?" Kaid questions. For a while all they see in the distance is just open field. Nothing too special, but too them who've never seen anything like it. It was amazing.
Kaito sprints into the field and looks around at how many beasts they can see. From common ones like Bull sheeps, to Wolves, and dino chickens.
Kate hops onto Snowball's back and they walk through the field. "The sun seems different from out here." Kate says peacefully as she takes it all in. "I thought it'd look different out here." Kaid says. He then turns and laughs. "I told you guys mom was overreacting." He says.
"Now, Let's find that monster." Kaid says as he leads the way. Kaito is barely paying attention as he looks around in wonder at everything. The three of them climb up a nearby hill to get a better look at their surroundings.
Kaito rolls down the hill and runs back up while he waits for his siblings to find something. Kaid looks around. Before long he spots something. "That one will do great." He says.
The monster is a giant praying mantis with the standard two arms, but it is 3 meters (10ft)
Before Kaito can roll down the hill again Kaid picks him up by his collar. "We're hunting that one." He tells Kaito, and Kaito gives a thumbs up.
Kaid kneels down. "Alright guys plan time. This monster seems to be kind of strong, so we need a plan." Kaid says to them. Kate and Snowball nod. "The plan is, i'll lead since i have the best offense, Snowball and Kate come in behind and help the flank, and Kaito-" Kaid stops and looks around. "Kaito?" Kaid questions. Kate points in the direction of the monster. "He ran in the second you told him we were after it." Kate says.
Kaid shakes his head while laughing. "What an idiot." He says amused.
Kaito charges in at the monster with his sword drawn. The giant mantis swipes at Kaito, he quickly slides under the attack and slices at it's arm. He cuts it, but the cut is shallow. "Need to hit it harder!" Kaito yells.
He uses fire magic, and he shoots three quick blasts at it. The mantis seems to move faster as it swings it's razor like claw at him. Kaito is caught off guard but he manages to block the blow, but it sends him.
Kaid catches him. "Having fun?" Kaid asks him. "I was handling it." Kaito says back.
Kate rides Snowball into battle. Snowball charges a blast and shoots it from his mouth. The mantis jumps out of the way to dodge, but Kaid with surprising strength throws it back into the blast. Kaito runs in and he cuts the beasts leg.
All the combined attacking causes it to fall over. Kaid runs over to behead the monster. He swings his blade but Kaito blocks his attack. "Dude, what're you doing!" Kaid yells at him. The mantis gets up and runs away. "I would've had it!" Kaid yells.
Kaito shakes his head. "We don't have a reason to kill it." Kaito says. "Bro what, Are you stupid?" Kaid says back.
They're interrupted by what sounded like a scream from another person. They climb a rather tall hill and at the top they find a town of people getting raided.
They see people being attacked and chased by what looks like bandits.
"We can handle these punks!" Kaid shouts angrily. Kate grabs him. "I don't think that's a good idea, Mom also said not to speak to outside people if we ever see them." Kate warns. Kaid rolls his eyes. "This again?" He says annoyed. "Another thing she never even gave us a reason for!" He shouts.
While his older siblings bicker Kaito look at a young man about his age in a fight with a bandit.
Kate stands her ground. "It doesn't matter if she never gave a reason she said it's against the rules!" Kate shouts. "And we're already breaking one!" She continues. Kaid shakes his head. "You and your rules." He says back.
The boy Kaito was watching is knocked over. The bandit raises his blade to end him. Without wasting a second Kaito dives in, and kicks the bandit into a wall knocking him out cold.
Kaito reaches a hand out for the boy. "You ok?" Kaito asks him. The boy nods, and Kaito helps him up. "I don't recognize you, are you new?" The boy asks Kaito. Kaito nods. "Well my name is Eric Sarc." The boy introduces himself. Kaito smiles brightly thinking he's made a friend. "I'm Kaito Na-" He's cut off by another attack. Kaid handles this one.
Kate shakes her head. "I don't know about this guys." She says. Kaid cracks his knuckles. "Who cares at this point, let's handle these guys." Kaid says and they dive into battle.
Kaito blocks an attack from a bandit and ducks under another. He uses fire to accelerate himself with a jumping knee into a bandit. He flips another one over his shoulder. He's hit by another and back off. The bandit runs towards him with a blade. Kaito rolls back out of the way and pivots his hands into the ground, and then he launches off the ground kicking the man in the chin.
Kate and Snowball run through an entire group of them with no issues. A group of them attempt to gang up on Kate. She cracks with lightning and then she electrocutes them all.
Kaid walks up to the biggest group of them. He runs straight in and he kicks a bandit in his chest sending him flying. Another swings at him with a blade. Kaid laughs and doesn't even attempt to dodge. He swings his blade and when the two make contact, the bandits blade shatters, and Kaid crushes his face with a punch.
Kaid laughs. "Wow you guys really had the nerve to attack innocent people while being this weak!" Kaid yells egging them on. The bandits get angry and rush towards Kaid.
A sly grin plays on Kaid's face. His eyes glow and then gravity around him shifts forcing all of the bandits to the ground.
He didn't even need to use it, he simply wanted to just to show he was better then them.
The bandits all quickly are shocked. "Gravity magic?!" One questions. "Who the hell is this kid?!" They yell. Kaid releases the magic. "Scram." He says as he flashes a look that chill the bandits to their core. They all begin fleeing the town.
Kaid runs after them. "If you ever come back here i'll deal with you all over again!" He shouts at them. Kaid comes over to Kate and Kaito and they do a three-way fist bump. "Didn't kill anyone Kaito, so don't cry." Kaid says teasingly. Kaito smiles. "Thank you."
The townspeople come from their homes they were hiding in and cheer for them. "Thank you all, those people have been terrorizing us for months!" An old man tells them. The boy from earlier also shakes Kaito's hand. "Thank you, truly." He says and Kaito smiles.
Kaid smiles and shakes their hands. "Thank you thank you, I know i'm great!" Kaid says accepting all of the praise. Kate smiles. "I guess this isn't that bad." She says feeling a bit better. Kaid laughs. "You enjoying the praise, this'll be nothing, because in a few years the whole world will celebrate me like this!" Kaid says proudly.
The townspeople continue cheering and even bring out some fruits, and gifts for them.
The old man shakes Kaid's hand again. "Tell me, what are the names of our saviours!" He says as the townsfolk cheer, Nonchalantly Kaid replies. "Kaid Nakaya." He says and the cheering immediately stops.
The faces of everyone nearby changes. "W-what did you say?" The old man backs off. "Kaid Nakaya." He repeats himself.
The townsfolk begin throwing stuff at them. "Get out of here!" Someone yells as they throw something. Kaid catches it. "What?" He questions. "Go away!" Another one yells. "Leave!"
The townspeople once cheerful faces have turned to fear. "We just saved you!" Kaid yells back. The siblings and Snowball are backed against eachother.
Someone throws something that hits Snowball and he roars. "We don't care what you saved!" Someone shouts. "We'll take those bandits over monsters like you any day!" An old man shouts.
They're confused, shocked they don't understand why they're treating them this way.
Kaito sees his "friend" is also against them, despite this Kaito still wants to comfort him. "Hey, it's ok, we're not dangerous." Kaito says as he takes a step closer. "Back off!" Eric yells as he draws a sword. "I promise we're not bad people." Kaito says as he takes another step.
Without an ounce of hesitation. Eric swings his sword and cuts Kaito's eye. A scar from Kaito's forehead to just under his eye is formed. It begins to bleed and all of the blood clouds his vision.
This makes Kaid RAGE. "What the hell is your problem." Kaid shouts as his eyes glow.
A person spits and it lands on Kaids face and he begins to use gravity magic but Kate grabs on his shoulder. "Let's just go home!" She yells. Kaid looks at her worried face and sees Kaito's blood dripping onto the floor soaking the soil.
He calms down and sighs. They go to exit town and the people continue to yell disgusting things. "Monsters like you deserve to be slaughtered!" "You people shouldn't exist!" They yell as the kids make sure to cover their tracks, as they make their way back home.
