"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 362: Devil Promotion

The living room was a scene of aftermath—Tenra and Rias finally sat together, the chaos of their scuffle fading into laughter and embarrassment. Tenra grimaced as he rubbed a fresh constellation of bite marks, while Rias, cheeks burning red, struggled to change out of the shredded remains of her clothes.

"Akeno, have you all finished laughing yet?!"

Rias glared at her friends, still snickering in the corner.

"We're… we're done," Akeno managed, though a giggle escaped her lips.

Mortified, Rias shot Tenra a venomous look. This was all his fault! The noble Gremory princess and the Phoenix miracle, reduced to brawling like children—one tearing clothes like a hooligan, the other forced to bare her fangs in self-defense. Good thing their audience was just family. If anyone else saw them like this, their reputations would be in ruins.

Still, despite the embarrassment, Rias felt oddly refreshed. She wasn't truly angry. She'd long accepted that Tenra would draw more and more women to his side. But as the official wife, she had to make her feelings known—otherwise, this scoundrel would just get bolder.

"Since Lady Roygun chose you, don't let her down," Rias said, her tone gentle but firm. "And aside from our sisters, keep what happened between you and Roygun quiet. She's the head of the Belphegor clan—if word got out, it'd damage her reputation."

Tenra nodded. "Of course. I know how these things work."

If news of Roygun and her entire household becoming Tenra's lovers ever leaked, the Underworld's gossip circuit would explode.

"But still…" Tenra's eyes glinted mischievously. "Rias, you've accepted Roygun so quickly? Even looking out for her?"

Rias rolled her eyes. "What do you expect? I get jealous sometimes, sure, but I'm not petty. If Roygun's chosen to join us, I'll welcome her as a sister, not push her away."

Roygun's decision to be Tenra's lover, rather than compete for the position of head wife, made things easier. Rias was his fiancée and the leader of his harem, but Roygun's status rivaled Serafall and Grayfia. If she'd tried to challenge for the top spot, Rias might've felt the pressure.

Watching Rias's adorable mix of pride and vulnerability, Tenra smiled. Wise and beautiful—quick to anger, but just as quick to forgive. It was one of the things he loved most about her.

"Rias, having you as my wife is a blessing from the gods."

He pulled her gently into his arms, voice soft.

"Hmph. Y-you better remember that…" Rias mumbled, cheeks flaring as the others snickered again. Tenra always found a way to embarrass her, even in front of everyone. Still, knowing he cherished her made the embarrassment worth it.

After their moment, Tenra finally asked, "Rias, is there anything left to handle in the Underworld?"

Rias composed herself, her tone turning serious. "The war's over. My brother and the others are handling the aftermath—compensating those who suffered, rewarding those who distinguished themselves."

"Our personal rewards will be added to our families' shares. As for our peerages, my brother gave us two slots each. We can promote our Queens to Middle-Class Devils. Sona got the same deal."

Tenra nodded, understanding immediately. Ordinary rewards didn't mean much to them; everything went straight to the Phoenix and Gremory family interests—a long-standing Underworld tradition.

But promoting Yubelluna and Akeno to Middle-Class Devils? That was a pleasant surprise.

Here, "Middle-Class Devil" referred to peerage rank, not raw power. Only Rias and Sona held Upper-Class Devil status in their households. Tenra, as a half-blood, technically wasn't eligible, but his meteoric rise—and Phoenix lineage—earned him special treatment.

Peerage members like Yubelluna and Akeno were considered Lower-Class Devils. Advancing in rank wasn't easy; it required both strength and significant achievements.

Most Lower-Class Devils spent decades, even centuries, earning promotion. Only because Yubelluna and Akeno had fought alongside Tenra and Rias, contributing so much to the Underworld, did they qualify in under a year.

Even so, only the Queens—Yubelluna and Akeno—were eligible. The rest still had a long way to go. The requirements were that strict.

Once promoted, their status and benefits would skyrocket. If they ever reached Upper-Class Devil, they'd receive Evil Pieces from the Maou themselves and could form their own peerages.

Not that Yubelluna or Akeno would ever leave Tenra or Rias, even if they could.

Their promotions were cause for celebration, and everyone offered congratulations. They'd still need to pass a few Underworld exams, but with their strength, that'd be a breeze.

"One more thing," Rias added. "Our match has been scheduled—five days from now."

"Five days?" Tenra blinked in surprise.

Normally, that would be fine. But the war had just ended—the Underworld needed time to recover. He'd expected their match to be postponed by a month or two.

"My brother set the date. He said the war brought great loss and sadness. Our match will help everyone's spirits recover."

Rias sounded a bit resigned.

Tenra understood. With their fame and popularity, it made sense.

A match was a match. He didn't mind. After claiming the [Twilight Holy Spear], he'd stepped into the realm of Transcendence. He couldn't imagine losing.

But his opponent was Rias—his fiancée, his sweetheart. He couldn't bear to bully her anywhere except in bed. Yet if he didn't give it his all, she'd definitely be upset.

Troublesome. He'd just have to play it by ear…
