Chapter 254 - 《DXD: Infinite Loot System》Chapter 253: Three Identities Exposed

Aika squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for pain. But after a long, breathless moment, nothing happened. She opened her eyes to find Tenra standing beside her, having yanked her back to safety at the last possible second.

"Waaah—Captain!" she wailed, relief flooding her. Surviving certain death, Aika clung to Tenra, nuzzling shamelessly against him.

Tenra gave her a look that could curdle milk. "You done groping me yet, Kiryuu?"

"Ha… haha… Sorry, Captain. I was just so scared…" Aika withdrew her wandering hands, grinning sheepishly.

Tenra snorted. "You know fear? Next time you get cocky, nobody's coming to save you." He grabbed her by the collar and, ignoring her shriek, tossed her right back into the fray.

He turned to the rest of the kendo club, raising his voice. "You all saw that, right? Yokai aren't always stronger than humans. Some are even weaker. As long as you don't lose your head like certain people, you can fight them too. This is a rare chance for live practice—I'll keep you safe, so don't worry about dying. And if you impress me, there's extra rewards after."

The fox priests and karasu-tengu were weak as far as monsters went. Tenra hadn't planned this, but why not let the girls get some real experience? They might not get much stronger in one battle, but testing themselves against yokai would toughen their hearts. Next time they faced something supernatural, they'd have the courage to fight.

"Yes, Captain!" The girls, having watched Aika's little duel, found their fear replaced with excitement. The promise of rewards didn't hurt, either.

"Let's go, everyone!" Murayama shouted, and the kendo club charged in, swords raised, voices ringing.

Most ordinary people would be hopeless against these yokai, but Tenra's training had changed the girls. Three or five working together could handle one monster. Murayama and Katase, who'd learned to use qi, managed solo.

They took some lumps at first—scrapes, bruises, nothing serious. Asia patched them up between rounds. And after trading blows with real monsters, the girls realized yokai weren't so scary after all. Their confidence soared.

Tenra nodded, satisfied, and had Ravel keep an eye out. If anyone got in real trouble, she'd step in. He glanced down at Aika, still clinging to his side.

"Seriously, Kiryuu, are you going to let go or do I have to pry you off?"

Aika gave a nervous laugh and finally released him. Tenra rolled his eyes and sent her back into the fight.

Meanwhile, the fox princess watched the tide turn, her face twisted in frustration. One of her fox priests leaned in, voice anxious. "Princess, what should we do? Those human girls are making things difficult."

"Despicable devil! He's tricked the humans into being his shields!" the princess spat. "Don't hurt the humans, but capture that devil! Make him return Mother!"

The fox priests hesitated, but had no choice—they followed her orders, even as the battle slipped away.

On the other side of the shrine, Motohama, Matsuda, and Issei watched the chaos with faces like they'd seen ghosts.

"Are those kendo club girls nuts? They're fighting actual yokai!" Motohama gaped.

"Remember our first monster? We nearly pissed ourselves," Matsuda muttered. "Ran half the city before we finally pulled it together and beat it…"

Comparing their own pathetic performance to the girls' ferocity, the trio felt like crawling into a hole. Were girls always this terrifying now? Was there any hope for guys anymore?

"Issei, we should fight too!" Motohama clenched his fists.

"Yeah! We're supposed to be heroes! Can't let the girls show us up!" Matsuda added.

Issei shot them a look. They were fired up, but he couldn't argue. "Fine. But put on your masks. If anyone from class recognizes us, we're finished."

The three ducked behind a tree, pulled out the fox masks they'd bought earlier, and slipped them on.

"Oppai, grant me strength!" Issei shouted, fists raised. A pillar of pink light erupted, and two enormous breasts sprouted on his chest.

Motohama and Matsuda stared as Issei fired beams at them—moments later, they sported matching chests.

The transformation was anything but subtle. The fighting stopped as yokai and girls alike turned to stare.

"What… what the hell is that?" someone whispered.

The trio leapt onto the battlefield, striking dramatic poses.

"When darkness falls—"

"That's when we appear!"

"Allies of justice!"

"Messengers of light!"

"We are—"

"The Oppai Heroes!"

The cringe was palpable. Issei wanted to crawl under a rock and die. All Motohama and Matsuda's fault—they insisted on the whole embarrassing routine. He prayed, Don't recognize me, don't recognize me…

"Take this, monsters! Oppai Beam!" Issei shouted.

Pew pew… pew pew pew… The three fired breast-shaped energy blasts, mowing down yokai left and right. It looked obscene, but it worked—screams echoed as the monsters fell.

"Such vulgar magic!" the fox princess shrieked, cheeks blazing red. "Catch them! Hurry!"

Half the yokai force turned and charged the trio.

Tenra, meanwhile, quietly turned away and covered Asia's eyes.

"Tenra-san, what's wrong?"

"Don't look, Asia. You'll hurt your soul."

"Oh… okay."

With the Oppai Heroes on the field, the yokai side crumbled. And just then, reinforcements arrived.

"Tenra-sama, we're here to help!" Four figures landed in quick succession—Tsubasa Yura, Meguri Tomoe, Reya Kusaka, and Momo Hanakai, all second-years from Sona's peerage.

They'd been sightseeing below when they noticed something off at the shrine and rushed up. Tenra greeted them, and the girls joined the fray. Their strength was on a different level; within moments, half the remaining yokai were routed.

"Princess, the enemy's too strong. We can't win," a fox priest pleaded.

"Damn it! Everyone, retreat!" the fox princess barked, shooting Tenra a venomous glare before fleeing with her followers.

"We won!" Murayama cheered, and the girls erupted in celebration. Asia hurried to heal the wounded.

Tenra turned to Tsubasa. "Can you handle the cleanup? Erase the memories of everyone except the kendo club girls."

"Yes, Tenra-sama."

With the aftermath sorted, Tenra strode over to the Oppai Heroes—who were trying to sneak away.

But Aika and a mob of kendo club girls cut them off.

"Did you really think masks would fool us? Hyoudou, Motohama, Matsuda—take 'em off!"

"You've got the wrong guys!" Motohama protested.

"Still playing dumb? Girls, get 'em!" Aika ordered.

Punches and kicks flew. The three clutched their heads, howling. Finally, Matsuda ripped off his mask and stood, face bruised and defiant.

"So what if it's me? We helped you fight, and this is how you repay us? What do you want?"

Aika kicked him back down. "Hand over the breast enlargement method, you perverts!"

"Yeah! Spill it!" another girl demanded.

"You're all perverts, but your boobs are bigger than mine! The universe is unfair!"

"If you don't share, next year today is your funeral!"

Every flat-chested girl in the club joined the chorus, eyes blazing.

Issei, Motohama, and Matsuda exchanged looks. So this was what all the violence was about. Motohama, battered, pointed at Issei.

"It's all Issei's power! Nothing to do with us! Go ask him!"

"Yeah, go bug Issei!" Matsuda chimed in—betraying their friend without a second thought.

A hundred angry eyes turned on Issei. His face went green.

Motohama, Matsuda—you traitors! I'll kill you for this!
