On his day off, Tenra sat beside the park fountain, absently watching the ripples as he waited.
"President, sorry to keep you waiting!"
Aika Kiryuu's voice rang out, bright and cheerful. She strode up, her usual school uniform replaced by a breezy summer outfit. A faint trace of perfume lingered in the air, and her twin braids were styled with extra care.
Tenra stood, giving her an appreciative once-over. "I just got here myself. But you look amazing today, Kiryuu."
Aika grinned, spinning once to show off. "Hehe, of course! I spent ages getting ready for our date."
Honestly, Aika had always been cute—her figure, her face, all of it. Trouble was, her reputation as the school's resident pervert kept most people from noticing. But dressed up like this, she was a knockout. Tenra nodded, quietly impressed.
"So, what do you want to do today? Any place you've got in mind?"
"Isn't the guy supposed to plan dates? But since this is my very first, you'd better not half-ass it, President!"
Tenra laughed. "Fine, then let's get started."
He was a natural at this. From the park, their date officially began.
They hit the amusement park, the movie theater, the aquarium—every fun spot in town. When Aika wanted to try flying, Tenra took her soaring above the city, her laughter trailing behind them.
Watching her smile, Tenra couldn't help but feel good himself.
"Hehehe... This is the best. Today's date is so much fun."
As the sun dipped low, they strolled hand-in-hand, Aika biting into a cloud of cotton candy.
"As long as you're happy, Kiryuu."
Tenra took a bite of the cotton candy she offered, smiling. After a whole day together, they looked every bit the real couple.
Suddenly, a child's cry pierced the evening air. They turned to see a little girl sobbing, her bunny-shaped balloon drifting away.
Without hesitation, Aika leapt several meters into the air—drawing gasps from the crowd—and snagged the balloon before it could escape.
For someone who'd learned to harness ki, a feat like this was child's play.
"Careful next time, little one," Aika said, handing the balloon back.
"Thank you, big sister!" The girl blinked up at her, tears forgotten.
"Are you on a date with big brother?" she asked innocently.
Aika clicked her tongue. "You know about dating already? Yep, big sister and big brother are on a date."
"Is dating fun? I wanna try!"
Aika laughed. "Wait till you're older—and find a boy you like."
"Okay! Bye-bye, big sister, big brother!"
After sending the girl off, Aika returned, only to find Tenra watching her with a curious look.
"What's up, President?"
"Nothing, just surprised. Didn't know you liked kids."
Aika blushed, looking away. "Maybe a little..."
Tenra chuckled. Who'd have guessed the notorious troublemaker had a soft spot for children?
They ducked into a dessert shop for sweets, savoring the last moments of the day. As dusk settled, Tenra readied himself to walk Aika home.
But—
"Well, well. If it isn't Kiryuu."
"And our famous Tenra-senpai."
A group of boys appeared out of nowhere, blocking their path. They clearly recognized both of them.
"It's you guys?" Aika frowned.
"Friends of yours?" Tenra asked.
"Just some losers from school. I've beaten them up before," Aika replied, her tone dripping with disdain.
"Damn it, Kiryuu. Don't get cocky. Last time was a fluke."
"Running into you outside school—this time, we won't let you off easy!"
Their grudge was obvious. The boys glared at Aika, but when their eyes landed on Tenra, something shifted. They exchanged glances, then smirked.
"Kiryuu, you're not actually dating Tenra-senpai, are you?"
"Seriously, trash like you landing someone? That's hilarious."
"Ha! Hahahaha!"
Their laughter was loud and ugly. Aika's expression darkened, and Tenra's eyes narrowed.
"You boys seem to have a problem with me, too?"
"Us? Have a problem with the great Tenra-senpai? Never!"
"Yeah, you're the school's golden boy—top grades, good looks, captain of the girls' kendo club. Compared to you, we're nothing."
Their sarcasm was thick as sludge. Tenra just nodded—textbook jealousy.
"True. Compared to me, you really are nothing."
He didn't bother sugarcoating it.
"You—!" Rage flashed across their faces. They'd meant to mock him, not get roasted in return.
The tallest boy sneered, eyes cold. "Heh... Tenra-senpai, you're always cozy with Rias-senpai and Ravel-senpai at school. But what if they found out you were dating trash like Kiryuu? Wonder what they'd think."
Their smiles were venomous, but Tenra just looked bored. More idiots who worshipped Rias and Ravel. If only they knew Rias had spent last night moaning under him, and Ravel was little more than a plaything—they'd choke on their own envy.
"Kiryuu, you want to handle this, or should I?"
He wasn't about to waste words on these extras.
"Don't bother, President. Trash like this isn't worth your time."
Aika's lips curled into a cold smile as she cracked her knuckles and stepped forward.
"Kiryuu, you might be tough, but there's a lot of us. Think it'll go like last time?"
"Just some trash—today, we'll show you—"
They didn't get to finish. Aika was already moving, fists flying.
"Drop dead, you bastards!"
