From across the room, Yuna's mouth twitched.
Her cat ears flattened completely against her head, and she took an aggressive step forward, fists clenching at her sides. Her ruby eyes burned with barely restrained fury.
"So you knew?" Yuna's voice was tight, each word clipped. "You intentionally trapped me just to—"
She stopped mid-sentence.
Because Tianlong had turned to look at her, and beside him stood his three other wives. Akane with her pregnant belly. Sylvea with her embarrassed, averted gaze. Yu Xiang with that infuriating smirk.
The sight of them all together—a united front—made Yuna's fury deflate like a punctured balloon.
Her lips trembled. Her fists unclenched slowly, hands falling to her sides as her shoulders sagged. The fight drained out of her posture completely, replaced by something more vulnerable.
She moved toward them with slow, hesitant steps. Her red spandex suit hugged her curves as she walked, and her tail dragged behind her like she'd lost all energy.
