The princes grew swiftly, soaring through the skies of their youth. Yet even in play, their natures were clear.
Glow's flight was graceful, wide arcs across the clouds. He left trails of golden sparks that dazzled children below, who clapped and cheered as though watching a festival.
Dwarf flew lower, closer to the mountains. He struck the cliffs with his claws, tested his strength against stone, and roared until the valleys shook. Some admired his ferocity, but others looked away uneasily.
At night, Glow slept in peace, his dreams soft and warm. Dwarf tossed and growled, muttering as if something whispered to him in his sleep.
Still, they were brothers. When Glow was mocked for being too gentle, Dwarf bared his teeth and silenced the laughter. And when Dwarf sulked in anger, Glow lay beside him, speaking calmly until the fire in his brother's eyes cooled.
They were opposites, but for a while, they were inseparable.
