Chapter 36 - The Shackled Sun

With moving forward, I started to think about how actually, the kingdom was linked to the seal, Was the seal before the kingdom or the seal was placed after the Kingdom.

The latter's answer became clear, The archbishop we saw, was from the kingdom, So the seal was placed after. Then more question began forming, like Why did Cassia which was the princess of this kingdom buried in a no named crypt? And how is this Kingdom linked to the seal.

Then I remembered Nolan's Mother's words, 'He had achieved something important in history of humanity'.

Did the King of Oath put the seal on Netharis? No, I remember in the novel they said that the who sealed Netharis was a god, Is novel really correct? or am I reading into it too much.

Then what about the other seals? Was kingdom of Oath that expansive to cover all seals or does every seal has a ancient Kingdom linked to it?

I also remember there being the The shackled Sun empire in Ulma, where the last two seals are.

Urgh. it's all scrambled.

I decided abandon the topic and focus more on exiting this crypt.

We explored every room in our corridor and started moving outwards, The more we explored the more murals or paintings of various creatures started appearing, First it was just demonic Wolves, then Elves and Dwarves, Then more wilder like Dragons and Phoenix's Then most surprising Angels.

I was not even surprised,

At this point I was in awe of how many variables, forgotten histories and races were yet to shed light.

Once again the cohort was getting used to the variables and abnormality of this place.

The crypt's corridor widened into a chamber whose walls were smoother, more deliberate—like a gallery carved for remembrance. Our torches stretched shadows across the stone, pulling details from the murals that lined the walls.

On the left, elves with long spears stood against dwarves wielding great hammers. Further down, winged beings soared above them, halos painted in faded gold leaf. Dragons coiled around mountain peaks, phoenixes blazed like firestorms, and strange lupine creatures with too many eyes prowled the edges of the scenes.

"Angels. Dwarves. Wolves with horns… what even is all this?" Nolan muttered, walking with his head tilted.

"I'm not even surprised anymore," Lily said, arms crossed as she studied a mural of elves clasping hands with humans. "This is bizarre, yes. But after the last few days, I'm just… numb to bizarre."

"Speak for yourself," Vivi whispered, shaking her head. "I thought angels were bedtime stories."

Veyra was silent, her eyes sharp. She traced a faint groove with her fingertips where paint had been eroded. "Stories often come from something real. Myths don't spring from nothing."

We moved further in, and that was when the next mural caught my breath.

At its center were two men, shaking hands. Both were carved with crowns, each holding staffs wreathed in symbols. One bore the emblem of the Oath Kingdom—a sigil carved into banners across the cathedral above. But opposite him was a stranger: his crown adorned with a blazing sun, but the sun's rays were shackled by chains, each link painted in deep black.

Phoebe narrowed her eyes. "That… isn't a symbol I know."

"It's not Hera. Or Theon. Or any of the present kingdoms," Nolan added. "I've seen maps, I've read insignias. This doesn't belong anywhere."

The Shackled Sun stared down at us from centuries past, its chained rays painted with unsettling precision.

The ShackledSun I whispered

Another question arose with no answer in sight.
