Dr. Agasa's house.
Miyano and the doctor stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, pacing anxiously, awaiting the return of the two who went to the memorial.
"News just came in."
Haibara, listening to the radio through earphones, looked up with a grim expression.
"What happened?" Dr. Agasa and Miyano hurried over.
"There was a suspected explosive device, like a flashbang, at the memorial venue."
"The police are investigating now."
Haibara glanced at the doctor.
That kind of thing…
"Any casualties?" Dr. Agasa rubbed his bald head, wondering if the Black Organization's target was achieved.
That Tsuneo, causing chaos at a gathering of elites, tossing flashbangs no less.
"No casualties, but someone's missing," Haibara shook her head.
"Missing?"
Miyano and Dr. Agasa exchanged heavy glances.
Did the Organization kidnap someone?
What's the situation with Tsuneo and Conan?
Especially that repairman, dressed so bizarrely—he might get arrested and interrogated harshly…
"Masuyama Kenzou, alias Pisco, an Organization member, was taken away by a father and son in plain sight," Haibara said, rubbing her temples.
No need to guess who the oddly dressed father and dark-skinned kid described by the hotel staff were…
But why did those two kidnap Pisco?
A high-ranking Organization member like him vanishing suddenly could cause unimaginable chaos.
"Will the consequences be serious?" Dr. Agasa asked, frowning.
"Probably…" Miyano nodded, glancing at her sister's solemn face.
As the three stared at each other, the doorknob turned, and a small, shadowy figure in a cap stepped inside.
"What's with you guys?"
Conan closed the door, exhaling in relief, only to find three serious faces staring at him, puzzled.
Dr. Agasa peered out the window, seeing no commotion, and asked curiously, "Shinichi, what about Pisco?"
"Tsuneo said he's going to sell him off…"
Conan briefly recounted the night's events, then pulled out a metal box and handed it to Haibara.
"What's this?!"
Haibara opened it, saw the all-too-familiar capsules inside, and froze.
APTX4869!
…
In an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts.
Tsuneo stood with a heavily disguised figure in black, staring at Masuyama Kenzou, bound tightly and gagged.
"What do you think of my merchandise?" the Dark Knight asked.
The mysterious figure didn't answer, stepping closer to Pisco. Under the man's terrified gaze, he struck swiftly, knocking him out.
"Truly shocking," Amuro Tooru finally spoke.
He hadn't expected Masuyama Kenzou to be an Organization member.
Even less expected was that he'd be so brazenly brought here.
"So, how much are you offering?" Tsuneo wiped the pistol Conan had handled and tossed it to Amuro.
"Name your price, as long as you can prove he's Pisco."
Amuro pocketed the gun, speaking generously.
This was a veteran member, a key piece in the Organization. Who knew how many elites could be exposed through him?
"He spilled some names and events I don't care about. Whether they're true, that's for you to verify," Tsuneo said with a smirk.
Including that politician, Tunoguchi Shigehiko, set to be arrested tomorrow, the old man had confessed plenty.
"I understand." Hearing the relayed names and events, Amuro nodded gravely.
This needed careful handling.
"I'll be off the grid for a while. We'll settle the payment later."
Tsuneo headed toward the warehouse exit.
"Oh, and a heads-up: keep an eye on this guy. Even if he dies, you still owe me!"
Amuro stared at the unconscious Masuyama, frowning.
"What a hot potato!"
This was undoubtedly a massive gift.
But whoever took it would have a hard time digesting it.
Amuro reached for his buzzing phone.
"Hello."
"Bourbon…"
…
"How's it going, boss?" Vodka, in the driver's seat, asked without taking his eyes off the road.
Since learning about the Beika Hotel incident, Gin hadn't put down his phone, contacting Organization members non-stop.
If the plan at Beika Hotel had gone smoothly, the Organization intended to quietly deal with Pisco later.
After all, his identity was compromised, and the one who knew was that persistent thorn in their side.
But who could've predicted the assassination would fail, and the old man would get nabbed?
Utterly useless!
"Someone's more anxious than us," Gin said, watching two police cars speed by. He lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and forced himself to calm down.
Compared to the Organization, the societal players tied to Pisco through various deals were the first to panic.
Thinking this, Gin began contemplating the worst-case scenario.
It could be bad.
While Pisco wouldn't know recent internal deployments, the entire upper echelon's public network might be shattered.
"We need to find him fast!"
Gin said coldly, resuming his calls.
No matter their rank, some hidden pawns would have to be activated this time.
Dark Knight.
You just wait!
Stay alive until I find you!
Vodka didn't know what Gin was thinking, but his smile grew increasingly terrifying.
…
Later that evening.
Dr. Agasa's house.
Hearing that Tsuneo had sold Pisco off, Haibara's lips curled slightly. "Looks like the Organization's in for a major hit this time."
Seeing the news report that both the father and son returned safely, bringing back the A-drug, she felt relieved.
Conan was still weighing the implications. "How bad do you think it'll get?"
Haibara glanced at Tsuneo, who was eating a late-night snack, and replied, "Depends on how it's handled. Best case, everyone tied to Pisco's line gets quietly taken out."
"If that happens, at least in Japan, it's like the Organization's had an arm forcibly ripped off."
"But personally, I don't think it'll reach that level."
Haibara shook her head helplessly.
"Why not?" Conan asked, frowning.
