Chapter 7 - The Reaper’s Cathedral

The Sutra trembles.

Its verses flicker between languages no one remembers.

Adam, Sora, and Riku arrive at the Cathedral, carved from obsidian and bone, suspended above the Hollow Vale. It sings with silence.

Inside, the walls bleed history.

And the stained glass windows show scenes that never happened—but should have.

The Cathedral's Truth

Each window shows a lie:

Sora kneeling before the Reaper. Riku crowned in ash. Adam burning the Sutra.

They stare.

The images shift.

They see themselves as children.

Then as monsters.

Then as gods.

Riku whispers:

"This place knows us."

Adam replies:

"Because it remembers what we forgot."

The Reaper's Origin

At the altar, they find a tomb.

Inside: a name.

Not spoken.

Not written.

Just felt.

The Sutra pulses.

A verse appears:

"The Reaper was once the Archivist."

Adam staggers.

"It was me."

Sora grips his blade.

"No. It was what you could've become."

Riku laughs.

"So we're fighting your shadow?"

Adam nods.

"We're fighting my failure."

The Battle of Becoming

The Reaper descends.

Not cloaked.

Not monstrous.

Just… familiar.

It speaks in Adam's voice.

"You rewrote the world. I erased what you couldn't."

"You gave them hope. I gave them silence."

"You are the story. I am the ending."

The Cathedral shatters.

The battle begins.

The Rewrite

Sora fights with fury.

Riku fights with chaos.

Adam fights with ink.

He opens the Sutra.

He writes:

"The Reaper was never mine."

"The Cathedral was never built."

"The ending is not written."

The Reaper screams.

It begins to unravel.

But not die.

It begins to remember.

The Reaper's Redemption

The Reaper kneels.

It whispers:

"I was born from your doubt."

Adam replies:

"Then die from my belief."

He writes one final verse:

"The Reaper becomes the Witness."

The Reaper vanishes.

The Cathedral collapses.

The Sutra glows.

And the world begins to rewrite itself.
