Chapter 2 - After the test

After the Test

Congratulations, you're all accepted! the teacher announced. Report to your assigned classes.

Students poured out of the chamber, buzzing with excitement.

Takeru found himself beside the boy who had failed. Takashi was grinning despite his result.

I'm the chosen hero, you know, Takashi said casually, his tone like he was stating a fact.

Takeru blinked. Then chuckled. Sure you are, Takashi.

Takeru: You don't believe me?

Takashi: Why would I?

Takeru: Well you are a big maga reader so you should know that the main character doesnt get powers at the start

Takashi: You think this is a manga, oh you and your helpless delusions

Not long after, he crossed paths with Emiko. She walked with a quiet grace, her books pressed neatly to her chest.

So, which class are you in? Takeru asked, trying to sound casual, though his voice cracked slightly.

Class 1-A. How about you?

His heart leapt. Same here.

Her lips curved into the faintest smile. They walked side by side, the silence between them oddly comfortable.

School Days

The first week passed in a blur.

Classes at Elemental High were unlike anything Takeru had ever experienced. History lessons covered the rise and fall of elemental dynasties. Combat training took place in massive arenas where students unleashed their powers under teacher supervision. Even math problems involved mana equations.

But Takeru struggled. His fire abilities often flared out of control, scorching practice dummies into ashes when he was only supposed to ignite a flame. Some classmates laughed. Others kept their distance.

Except Takashi. He followed Takeru everywhere, constantly proclaiming, "I'm the hero destined to save this world." At first, it was annoying. But somehow, Takeru found himself enjoying Takashi's strange confidence.

And then there was Emiko. Quiet, but sharp. Her wind control was precise, graceful, almost like a dance. She would offer Takeru small tips during training. He tried not to stare too long whenever she leaned close.

Slowly, they formed a small trio — awkward, but inseparable.

Will their relationship thrive..?
