Chapter 3 - A New Life, A New Power

In a room, a boy was lying quietly in his bed. After the sun rose and sunrays fell on his face, he woke up suddenly. He was shocked to see the unfamiliar exquisite room, which is contrary to his ordinary room. More shocking was to see that the body of his current self is a teenage boy with black hair and gray eyes, which is shown in the mirror. Suddenly, memories began to flood his brain, causing him a severe headache. He remembered that he was a boy of 25 years old in his previous life. He came from an orphanage. Studied engineering, got a 9-to-5 job. Lived an average yet good life. But deep down, he wanted more. He wanted to be extraordinary. It started from his childhood, as he watched superhero shows, like Ironman, Spiderman, Superman, and Batman. He adored them and wanted to be like them. To help others and maintain balance in the world. But among them, the one he wanted to be the most was like Danny Phantom, the boy who lived life like a half human and half ghost. He wanted to feel like a ghost, to live in two worlds and study the unknown secrets in the ghost zone. The show did not dwell much on the ghost zone's past and unknown secrets, but he wanted to know what those secrets held. But all of those were yet to be fulfilled as they were unrealistic, till now, that is. He remembered that on the day of his coming home from the office, he saw a child crossing the road and saw a truck coming without stopping despite seeing the red light. He understood that there might have been brake failure or some similar problem. He subconsciously wanted to do something and ran to save the child. He pushed the child to safety but could not save himself. At that moment, he counted all his memories and learned that the saving of the child was his best memory, as it fulfilled his dream of being a hero and helping those in need. Truck-kun crushed him and caused his death. The 13-year-old current teenage boy then remembered his parents in this world died in a plane crash a week before. The body that belonged to him has been in shock at that devastating news. He went to check on his parents' lab in the house. His parents were scientists and were studying something extraordinary. But died on the way to attend a conference due to a mechanical fault. The boy then went to see a round-shaped portal of sorts, and due to his lack of attention, he caused unforeseen fire in the portal and was electrocuted in the process. That's how he took over this body. That's what he thought. There wasn't anything wrong with his senses, as if he always had this body. But then he remembered something important. His parents' friend had taken care of him in the meantime. The Fenton family were friends with the originals family, the family of Veyne. A rich family with good resources, as his parents left him with good fortune. The boy was shocked to see that both his current body and his previous self have the same name and the current body was a childhood friend of Jazz Fenton. That's right, sister of Danny Phantom. He was in the fantasy world he always dreamt of. Then he found out that the portal was similar to Danny's parents. His parents were studying ghosts or ectoplasmic energy for some purpose and built a portal with the help of the Fenton family. So he also turned into a half ghost like Danny in the original series. Kael processed all of this information in his bed. He was sad for the parents of this boy and the boy himself. But he was also happy that he got the second opportunity to live a new life again in this fantasy world. But the happiness did not last long, as he was fatigued enough to go back to sleep again. Kael slept again for some time. When he woke up again at 10 am. He found visitors. The Fenton family came to visit him with food. He was hungry but also cautious about how to talk to these fictional characters he always saw on TV. His housekeeper walked the guest into the visitors' room. Kael came downstairs after freshening himself. He kept a poker face and acted normal, sad as the original boy was sad himself. "How are you?" asked Jack Fenton. "I'm fine, Uncle Jack," replied Kael. "I know your parents' death has been shocking. But you still have us. We are also your family, and your parent's family is also with you. "We are all with you in this," said Maddy Fenton. "Thank you, Aunt Maddy. I appreciate all your help in being with me. I will live up to my parents' expectations and live well. I also believe that's what they would want now from me if they were there." Said Kael. The Fentons were surprised and both happy to see his response like this. Then Jazz told him about him being absent from class and also gave him her notes from those classes. Jazz said, "You can't take a gap for too long. The teachers want their best student back in the class with his cheerful smile."Kael felt warm inside and said, "I will go back soon. You can count on me. Thanks for the materials. I owe you one." "Relax, dummy. That's what friends are for," replied Jazz. Danny also chipped in and asked how he was feeling as though they were not close friends. But they played boys' games enough to feel the brotherhood between them. Jack and Maddie watched these with smiles and felt relieved that Kael came out of the shadow of his parents' death. After lunch and some small talk, the Fenton family left his house, or mansion. Kael told the housekeeper to cook a light meal for lunch and dinner and went to his room. "Well, that went well. Much better than I had hoped. The memories I have helped me in behaving normally. Now then. Let's see my long-awaited ghost powers,"said Kael. He was excited enough to see his new form and to if the theory was real or did his experiment failed. "GOIIIING GHOSST!" yelled Kael.
