Chapter 12 - 12. No more Delays

The Kōnosu district lay cloaked in unnatural silence, its streets deserted and shadows deep.

A pale young woman, with light brown hair and unnatural red eyes, uses a small orb to generate light, cutting through the gloom as her team follows, each one as unnatural as she, with their step echoing in the stillness.

"Stay close," she murmured, eyes scanning the darkness.

Her team begins preparing, grabbing a multitude of weapons, ranging from swords to halberds. Small crystals connected to the weapons begin glowing in a faint blue light.

Source of magical energy, making these weapons that should be mundane, capable of interacting with the supernatural.

At the end of the street, they see their target. Or rather, what should be their target?

'Who- no, what is this?' She couldn't help but think.

The target should be a female magus who barely arrived at Saitama, someone who's not even the heir of her family. Yet, that's not who they found.

A giant. That's the only way the woman could describe the being in front of her.

A towering man, over two meters tall, with an immense muscular body. It could not be human, that body is nothing but divine. Yet, that was not the scariest part of him, but what he carried. A blade even bigger than him, yet he wielded it with a single hand. Her mind could not even process the idea of lifting such a blade, as if its weight could be felt from here.

She then looks at her chest, the gigantic blade having pierced it.

The giant, despite his side, was anything but slow, having reached her faster than her brain could even process.

He then swings his blade from inside her chest, obliterating her body. The remaining people could do nothing but stare at the gruesome scene.

Until one of them recovers his marbles and tries to attack the giant with his sword.

The blade did reach its target, but as if it hit stone, it just bounced off him. The blade then shattered into countless pieces. The giant then merely swings his blade, cutting the man in half.

The world itself could not process the strength and speed used in the attack, as the two parts of the man, before even hitting the ground, disappeared, a puddle of blood in their place.

The giant man turned to the others.

After that? It's history.

Pov. Hyouma Sagara

A massacre, that's how I would describe this mess. I sent a group of homunculi to the Kōnosu district in order to investigate the shifts in that area's ley lines, expecting maybe to find the general area of a Master, not the servant!

"What do you think, Assassin?" I ask my servant.

"He is impressive. I could not see much, as the fight lasted for a few seconds; yet the little that my eyes did catch was enough. If you had any doubt that he was the Saber servant, I do verily affirm that such is indeed the truth." His speech pattern is so...unusual. He seems to be constantly changing between normal and old language. Probably a side effect of the modified summoning.

But then...A Saber? Even if he did not show any sort of madness, I would say that thing was a Berserker without question. All of his parameters are A or higher, with Luck being the only exception, being B.

"A Saber with such high stats? I want to deny such a possibility, but you're most likely right. That's a problem."

Assassin is a powerful servant, his physical parameters being B or higher, something unthinkable for his class. And while his Mana and Luck are merely C-ranked, his Noble Phantasm is one of the most ridiculous things I ever seen. An EX-ranked Noble phantasm, at first, I thought that would basically guarantee my win, but after seeing Saber, I have lost that idea. I will have to play carefully if I want to win. After all, Assassin may be strong, but I am not.

"We'd best approach this carefully. First, we need to map out the territories of our enemies, then we must seize their control over the Leylines." Assassin gives his opinion.

"A simple, yet practical tactic. Your Presence Concealment is low-ranked; I cannot rely on you for this matter. I will send a few squads of homunculi around the city, especially in the areas where we are certain someone is residing." I lay out my plan.

"Good, then I can do what I do best and murder them!" A coy smile appears on his face.

Such a dangerous servant.

"Damn him, damn him, DAMN HIM!" A certain Dead apostle screams at the sky.

"He was at my hand! All but dead! Just for him to summon a FUCKING SERVANT at the perfect moment! What kind of scripted shit was that?!" She begins scratching her head frantically, making it bleed.

"If that's how it is, I will play by my own rules!" She then uses the blood from her head to draw a summoning circle on the ground.

"Silver and iron to the origin.

Gem and the archduke of contracts to the cornerstone.

The ancestor is my great master Schweinorg.

The alighted wind becomes a wall.

The gates in the four directions close, coming from the crown, the three-forked road that leads to the kingdom circulates.

Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill). Shut (fill).

Repeat every five times.

Simply, shatter once filled.

――――I announce.

Your self is under me, my fate(doom) is in your sword.

In accordance with the approach of the Holy Grail, if you abide by this feeling, this reason, then answer.

Here is my oath. I am the one who becomes all the good of the world of the dead; I am the one who lays out all the evil of the world of the dead.

You, seven heavens clad in three words of power, arrive from the ring of deterrence, O keeper of the balance ―――!"

A Bright blue light covers the entire area, forcing the Apostle to cover her eyes.

At the circle, a rather tall woman, around 170 centimetres, was dressed in a rather unusual dress. It's something that could be said to have come right out of an erotica book; the skirt has a bloody red colour, with the rest being a powerful black. Yet, the body showed a ridiculous amount of skin, from her inner thighs to her midriff. But despite all that, what brought the most attention is her hair: a deep pink.

"Kuhuhuh," the servant laughs. "I guess this must be fate. Please, call me Elizabeth. I am a Berserker-class servant."
