With all the letters Magnus had sent to Rowan remaining completely unanswered, the young man felt the weight of silence pressing heavier by the day. At first, he tried to convince himself that Rowan was simply busy, that life in Evadene had finally given him some peace… but the longer the silence stretched, the more impossible that excuse became.
In the end, Magnus could no longer sit still. He decided there was no other choice but to embark on the journey to Evadene once more.
This time, however, the kingdom he was returning to was not the same oppressive land it once was. The cruel king who had ruled with prejudice and fear was gone, removed from the throne along with the corrupt vassals who had enabled years of suffering.
