After quietly excusing himself from the banquet, Zalyric slipped out of the Great Hall with the echo of laughter and music fading behind him. His expression was calm at first but a flicker of unease shadowed his eyes. He had a feeling, an instinct that something wasn't right.
He then made his way through the dimly lit corridors and finally reached the room where he had left Rowan earlier. The moment he entered, his gaze fell upon the open window with the curtains fluttering gently in the cold night breeze. His steps slowed as the quiet creak of his boots filled the room.
"Your Majesty," one of Dravaris's knights quickly reported, bowing low. "He actually tried to leave earlier. He said he wanted to see you but since you ordered us not to let him out, we kept him inside but we… didn't expect he'd escape through the window."
