Aiden continued introducing Jelian and Luzia to the group.
He walked them over to the people sitting in front of the large screen. There were three women and a young boy, sitting in chairs a meter and a half apart.
Aiden, Jelian, and Luzia stood in front of one of them. She was a mature woman wearing a pink abaya decorated with white flowers. She had beautiful, bushy eyebrows, and covered her hair with a veil.
"I'll introduce you to Zainab Ahmed. She's the commander in charge of our surveillance. Through these screens, she can see everything that happens and completely control it."
"Welcome to the secret special base," Zainab greeted with kindness and affection, joking with a secret phrase and other such. She knew how excited the young people were when they saw places like this.
Jelian and Luzia smiled and introduced themselves politely, already impressed by Zainab's tact.
"And these two work for her: Caitlin White and Natalia Fedorov."
Caitlin and Natalia greeted them with a smile.
"We finally have this boy, William Henry."
William nodded coldly and quickly turned away.
This confused both Jelian and Luzia, who gave Aiden a strange look.
"Don't worry too much about him. He's not a very sociable person, but he does his job with absolute dedication."
He was a young man with short, black, silky hair. He loved electronics from a young age and rarely left the house, so he rarely met or talked to anyone.
He wasn't difficult to talk to, but he didn't say much, which led them to think he was a gloomy, taciturn person.
Thus, Jelian and Luzia got to know almost all of the members of the Special Forces.
They were friendly with them, and they all treated them like family.
This also applies to Jelian, who had never favored anyone before, due to the period he had lived through in the previous months.
Since the Great Disaster two years ago, he had struggled greatly to understand the situation and protect Nandi.
In the first months, the mutant beasts hadn't spread yet, but they caused panic and terror in the hearts of everyone without exception.
Because at that moment, the entire world was transformed, and everyone thought the end of the world had begun or that a world war had broken out, and everyone was involved in it.
And let's not forget the moments when humans transformed and acquired different abilities and physical transformations.
It was a profound moment etched deep in people's memories.
Because most of the humans died in the explosions, and some died later as a result of nuclear radiation or mutant beasts.
Of those who remained, there were many who hated the physical change that had occurred to them. It had altered their lifestyle, and they thought they were ugly freaks, because their mentalities were still the same as before the Great Catastrophe.
After a few months, people quickly adapted to the new change. They learned how to exploit their powers, and they fought the mutant beasts day and night.
There were types of mutant beasts with immense strength, and they were extremely difficult to defeat, wreaking havoc everywhere.
As for Jelian, after countless attempts to confront the mutant beasts,
He hadn't accepted his ability, and he still wanted it all to be just a dream that he would wake up from and then forget. If it weren't for his obsession and absolute desire to protect and heal his sister, his mind would have gone a long time ago, and he would have become a raging madman, no different from the mutant beasts.
During that time, he met several people, but unfortunately, they all harbored ill intentions, no matter how kind they acted.
Now, with the chaos and lawlessness, there was no stopping anyone from doing what they wanted. This made things difficult for him while under protection, but fortunately, his ability helped him greatly.
This is why he completely distrusted anyone. No matter how nicely someone spoke, they would reveal their true colors afterward.
Even when Aiden arrived in Corredith, up until the mission on Pycus, he didn't trust anyone, not even his colleagues.
If Rossi betrayed Jelian, he wouldn't be too surprised, but he would kill everyone, including Aiden.
It was hard to build someone's trust, but easy to break it.
Now, as he got to know the members of the special squad inside the hall, he realized their personalities and thoughts were different.
This gave him a strange feeling, as if something inside him wanted to wake up after a long sleep.
Trust.
The word that had been erased from Jelian's vocabulary was beginning to show its mark.
"Can I really trust them? Are these good people? Isn't it normal for someone not to trust anyone else?"
While Jelian was lost in his own thoughts, Zainab was watching every expression on her face and smiled sweetly.
"Miss Noronha Luzia, isn't that right?" Cohen suddenly asked Luzia.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, that's true."
"I heard you have an invisibility ability or something. Let me see it so I can confirm it properly," Cohen ordered solemnly, like a leader commanding his followers.
This caught the attention of everyone in the room.
"Yes," she immediately stood up straight, closed her eyes, and displayed her ability before them.
"Whoa!!..."
The room erupted in looks of surprise and curiosity as she suddenly disappeared before their eyes.
Although the word "disappearance" didn't seem out of the ordinary, it was understood as similar to "hiding."
However, for the person right in front of their eyes to have disappeared in the blink of an eye was shocking and impressive.
"How could this be? She was right in front of me, but she disappeared completely!!"
"Really impressive! We can't see her in any way!"
"I don't know how to explain this, but I see her, and sometimes I don't. How does that happen?"
Everyone was commenting on the disappearance, and some got a headache when they felt the same way Jelian had.
Some could see her, but not completely. In their eyes, she was disappearing and appearing at the same time.
"What do you think, Cohen?"
Cohen was thinking. He had a habit of raising his head, closing his eyes, and finally scratching his chin when he thought.
When in this state, he was oblivious to his surroundings and would become extremely upset and angry if someone tried to break him out of it.
However, it wasn't long before he emerged from it, commenting, "She can really disappear from our sight, and it's very difficult to feel her or even hear anything. Can we touch her?"
Cohen extended his finger, but felt nothing, and waved it, as if waving in the air.
"Aaaahhhhh!! Stop it!!!" Luzia snapped out of her state in alarm, her face flushed red, covering her chest with her arms as she turned her body away from Cohen.
"Oh! Did I do something?!" Cohen's reaction caught his attention.
"Yes, you pervert! You touched my chest!!"
Frankly speaking, Luzia felt the atmosphere change to a more awkward situation, and some of them secretly laughed, but Cohen didn't care about such things, so he ignored the atmosphere.
"Amazing! Even though I touched your body, I didn't feel anything at all. It's as if you weren't there."
"Haaaah, how could you not feel anything?!" This angered Luzia, who was furious at his answer. She understood that her chest was flat and could barely be felt if you put your hand on it.
But Zainab intervened and tried to help Luzia and calm her down.
Cohen ignored her and continued, "Even by touch, you can't. She has an impressive ability, and if you're unaware of her ability, you wouldn't even notice her presence if she was right in front of you."
"I agree with you on that point, but there's something you don't know. Jillian and I can see her slightly," commented Eden, echoing Cohen's opinion.
"Really!? Just you two?"
"I can see her too!"
"Me too!"
Kellen, Omar, and Tariq all commented, confirming that they could barely see it.
"So you're telling me that only those with superpowers can see it? Then why can't I?" Cohen asked incredulously, convinced that he had a power.
"We have a power, but we can't see it."
"Yes! We can't see it at all!"
The twins, Alex and Axel, commented, "Even though they have a power, they can't see it at all!"
This confused Cohen and caused him to rethink.
But after a few moments, he came up with a theory.
"Could it be because of nuclear energy? People with superpowers have high nuclear energy stored in their bodies, so only those with high energy can see it!"
And it was true. Luzia's ability relies on manipulating the surrounding and internal nuclear energy simultaneously. When the ability is activated, it causes the energy in her body to change in quality, acting like a child hiding as if it were a toy.
In some way, it affects the surrounding energy, increasing her invisibility.
Scientifically, invisibility means preventing light from reflecting off her and allowing it to pass smoothly. The closest example is glass.
Because the nuclear energy surrounding Luzia's body affects the passage of light through her, it deflects it from its original path. Instead of being reflected, it passes through in curves and emerges undamaged, as if it had passed through without reflection. This is the reason for her ability.
For those who could see her slightly, it was due to nuclear energy.
This is because when light is reflected in their eyes, an additional amount of nuclear energy is released. When it reaches Luzia's body, not all of the energy can be hidden or transformed, so the places they look at appear, but they quickly disappear and reappear.
This is completely mind-boggling. It's understandable that if a person's energy increases, they can see her more clearly, but the view will be distorted, and the features of her body will not be clear.
Cohen was a little relieved when he accepted this theory, because he believed he was the only one who couldn't see her, and therefore, this was proof that he didn't possess a supernatural ability.
Jelian was listening and watching from the sidelines, but then he remembered something.
"Hey, Eden! Didn't you say there was a great danger coming to Osiroh?" Jelian shouted, and Eden asked directly.
Everyone noticed and was shocked.
"Oh, right. I didn't tell you. There's an imminent danger coming!"
