"Why am I not surprised to see that the boss of this dungeon is a dragon? After all, it had all sorts of monsters." Gar said and chuckled while staring at the beast. The system sent him a notification, displaying the info about the boss:

"Just great!" Gar stared at the penalty for failure of the quest. "There's no way I'm gonna survive a battle against this." He thought. "But still, I have to try, I can't get out without killing it."
He observed the serpent's body to note possible weak points. The serpent sent its serpentine body, which swept Gar off the ground and struck him against the wall, which shattered, and Gar landed on the ground, which also developed some cracks. Gar groaned and got up while holding his rib.
Garfield steeled himself for the battle of a lifetime. He knew that defeating the Serpens Ferrum would earn him lots of gold coins and also new skills and abilities to try out while preparing himself for the fight with the Catalyst.
With a fierce cry, Garfield charged into battle, his skills and abilities ready. The fight was intense, with both sides trading blows and strikes with neither gaining the upper hand. But Garfield refused to back down, using every trick to whittle down the Serpens Ferrum's defenses.
Gar used his strength and agility, but still, it seemed impossible for him to defeat the serpent head-on. The serpent seemed to gain the upper hand with its fire breath, which prevented Gar from getting closer.
Seeing that he couldn't attack the creature directly, he decided to go the other way around and deliver a vital attack. He leaped against the wall and propelled himself on top of the Serpent. He swung himself underneath the serpent and aimed for a vital organ to deliver a powerful blow.
"I'll use my vital attack to damage its abdomen, maybe that will weaken it." Gar thought to himself and chuckled evilly. He threw a punch to the serpent's abdomen, but its metallic scales reflected the damage to him, rocketing him to the ground.
Gar couldn't stand up. He managed to get on his knees, but the vital attack did a lot of damage to him. He used his basic first aid skills to treat himself enough for him to get on his feet; meanwhile, the serpent circled him. He got up with blood all over his body. "Arghhh!" He groaned in pain and looked at the serpent in spite, "Now I'm pissed!".
Before Gar could make a move, the serpent coiled its iron body around him, choking him with agony. He tried breaking free, but the serpent's grip was tight.
He used his strength to hit the serpent multiple times, and when the serpent freed its grip a bit, Gar dashed away with the opportunity. When he was 10 feet in the air, he turned to face the serpent, which widened its mouth and breathed fire in Gar's direction. Gar used his Shadow Step skill to teleport and evade the fire. After that, he dashed to the walls of the chamber and jumped on the back of the serpent.
Without wasting time, he used his strength to rip off the serpent's metallic scales. Angrily, the beast shook him off its back and entered a rage mode, increasing its damage output and speed. Now, it was the same level as Gar's dash, which was now Lv. 9. It sent its tail to sweep Gar from the ground and slam him roughly.
"It probably is vulnerable to lightning-based attacks cause of its iron scales, but..." Gar thought. "Humph!" He sighed. "I don't have anything related to lightning. I guess I'll just go with ripping off its scales."
Garfield leaped and gripped the serpent's scales, which he continuously ripped, revealing the serpent's slimy skin. The slime dropped on Gar, making him slip and fall to the ground. Without hesitation, the serpent used its metallic nose to strike him, causing the ground to break. Devastated, but hopeful, Gar dashed around the serpent's body and kept ripping off the scales.
The serpent tried to shake off Gar, but he had a firm grip. The serpent finally succeeded and flung Gar to the wall. It shot out a blade that pierced through Gar's shirt and stuck him to the wall.
The serpent spat out its venom, soaking Gar's clothes and body. The venom was a liquid metal poison that caused continuous damage to the victim, while the odor of the venom caused the victim to experience dizzy spells. Unknown to him, Garfield inhaled the venom's smell and paid no attention to the venom that had contaminated his wounds.
He removed the blade from his shirt and fell to the ground. But instead of landing on his feet, he landed on his back. He groaned and tried to get up, but his legs felt too heavy. He forced himself to get up, and he made a fist. He looked at the serpent, but he was dizzy. The poison was taking its toll on Gar's body. Gar couldn't help but fall to the ground.
The serpent threw him up in the air and opened its mouth. It was about to swallow Gar, who dashed and grabbed onto the serpent's throat and ripped it out. He fell to the ground, got up, and staggered. The Serpens Ferrum let out a deafening roar and collapsed, defeated. Garfield stood victorious, his chest heaving with exhaustion.
He knelt, feeling weak. Then the system notified him of his success:
