Chapter 250 - Doctor Strange, Born!

"There really is one. A Work Accident. Injured his back, paralyzed. One leg was completely crippled, he sat in a wheelchair and his shoulders ached. He came for rehabilitation three times a week, but then he stopped coming. Everyone thought he was dead, but a few years later he walked past me on the street!" His Black friend gave him unprecedented hope, saying this.

"Walked?" Stephen Strange felt like his friend was playing a trick on him. How could that word and paralysis possibly go together? Wasn't this a joke? Even if it was, this joke was too much.

"Yes, walked!" His friend said very affirmatively, that's right, he walked. He had seen it with his own eyes.

"I want to see his records!" Stephen Strange finally found a glimmer of hope, and said.

"You think it's that easy to access medical records? But if it can shut you up, you arrogant bastard, then it's worth it!"

His Black friend complained and said.

And everyone outside the screen realized a door was opening for Doctor Strange. With his current injuries, there was definitely no solution from the scientific side, but the magical side definitely had a way.

After all, they had seen with their own eyes that Doctor Strange later had no problems at all using both hands.

Doctor Strange stared intently, wanting to see exactly how he found that opportunity. After all, if he really did get into a car accident in the future, he'd at least need to know where to seek help.

In the scene, Doctor Strange tried everything to heal himself, but all the doctors refused. He struggled to even wash his hands, and shaving was completely impossible.

But he refused to give up, even if it meant spending his last penny.

In America, Work Accident is the biggest reason the middle class falls into poverty.

Finally, he even had a huge argument with Christine, who came to comfort him. He spent his last bit of money, even overdrawing on his future.

"Don't pity me!" Strange couldn't help but say.

Christine retorted, "I'm not pitying you!"

"Then why are you here? Bringing cheese and red wine, like we're old friends going for a picnic?" Strange continued. "But we're not friends at all, Christine, nor are we lovers. You just like watching tragedies, don't you? You look at me, poor Stephen, and you think, 'How pitiful he is!'"

"He finally needs me. Another poor soul you have to save, huh? Counsel him, and then make him face life again!"

After a huge argument, Christine finally turned and left.

Seeing all this, Doctor Strange felt a little embarrassed. He hadn't originally had such a bad temper, but everything had changed after the car accident.

He had completely become a jerk!

But a turning point soon arrived. He finally found Jonathan Pangborn, the white middle-aged man his black friend had mentioned, at a street basketball court.

"Jonathan Pangborn, C7 and C8 vertebrae completely damaged. Paralyzed from the chest down, and also paralyzed in his hands!" Doctor Strange slowly stated his former medical records.

"Who are you? I don't know you?" Jonathan said to the unfamiliar Strange, somewhat puzzled.

"My name is Doctor Strange!" Doctor Strange replied. "I was once a neurosurgeon!"

"I remember now, I know who you are!" Jonathan slowly walked over. He finally remembered who this guy was. Then, with a sneer on his face, he said, "I went to your office, and you wouldn't even see me!"

"I can't even get past your assistant!"

"I can't save you!" Doctor Strange said, not feeling he'd done anything wrong back then, because he really couldn't do anything about Jonathan's illness.

But this scene was extremely ironic, because his doctor friends had tried to advise him the same way before. These people weren't willing to operate on something hopeless; it wasn't that the money wasn't enough, but that it concerned their reputations.

But he wouldn't give up either, and he also wanted to struggle to survive.

"Then you'd call that retreating in the face of difficulty, right!"

Jonathan didn't say much, just kept sneering, then turned and prepared to leave.

"You found hope in despair and created a miracle, and I'm also trying to create my miracle!"

Doctor Strange said with a little pleading.

Faced with Stephen Strange's pleas, Jonathan couldn't bring himself to refuse and revealed the truth about his ability to perform miracles.

"The place you're looking for is called Kamar-Taj, but the price of getting there is not small!" Jonathan said, uttering a mysterious name unknown to anyone: Kamar-Taj.

"How much?" Strange asked.

"It's not about money!" Jonathan said. "Good luck!"

Then he turned and went back into the court to continue playing.

After that, Doctor Strange struggled to travel from America to South Asia, trying to find this Kamar-Taj, but no one knew about it. He even became the target of local thieves and thugs.

He was robbed and almost killed. At a critical moment, Baron Mordo saved him from the thugs.

He also brought him to Kamar-Taj, a place that didn't look remarkable at all.

After entering, he saw some ascetics and even mistook a Taoist for the Ancient One.

The Ancient One immediately revealed why he was there, adding that he'd had surgery many times recently, a total of seven times.

"That's right!" Doctor Strange said, then asked, "You healed someone named Pangborn before? A paralyzed patient."

"Sort of," the Ancient One said lightly.

"You helped him walk!" Doctor Strange couldn't help but say excitedly.

Just as he was asking the Ancient One how she had cured him, the Ancient One said, "I didn't heal him. He couldn't walk, but I convinced him that he could walk on his own!"

Hearing this, Doctor Strange suspected that this was a scam, and said with some skepticism, "You're not saying it was psychological therapy, are you?"

"When you reconnect damaged nerves, are you the one healing, or is the body healing itself?" the Ancient One asked.

"The cells!" Doctor Strange said.

"But cells only regenerate in a unique way, right!" the Ancient One said. "What if I told you that you could convince your body to regenerate in various forms."

Hearing this, Doctor Strange thought it was cellular regeneration, which was the most advanced medical research.

But she gave another answer, that she knew how to heal the body with the mind.

Doctor Strange felt like it was nonsense when he heard this, but Jonathan, who had recovered, convinced him that it might be true.

When his mentality was about to explode and he was furious, he saw the Ancient One take action. She directly struck Doctor Strange's soul out of his body with a palm.

The people outside the screen saw this scene and felt it was unbelievable, even remembering what Lin Feng had mentioned in his early diaries, that he was afraid of being struck out of his soul by the Ancient One.

Now they understood what it felt like to be, being struck out of their soul.

It turned out that this was not a modifier, but reality. She just struck a person's soul out with a palm.

After his soul floated up, Doctor Strange experienced a completely different world.

But he still thought it was some kind of hallucinogen in the tea. How could he, someone who only believed in the material world and didn't believe in any gods or demons, possibly believe in something as absurd as an out-of-body experience?

"In that instant, you entered an Astral Dimension," Ancient One explained. "It's a place where the soul can exist separate from the body!"

The people watching the screen were hearing this theory for the first time, and they were also learning for the first time that there was a place called the Astral Dimension.

"Why are you doing this to me?" Doctor Strange's mental state was close to breaking.

"To show you how ignorant you are," Ancient One replied calmly. "Open your eyes."

Then she struck again, pressing her hand on Doctor Strange's forehead. Instantly, his spirit flew up, into space, and then into other dimensions: black holes, the deepest mysteries of the universe, the Multiverse, the Dark Dimension, endless mysteries.

"You think you know how the world works."

"You think the material universe is all there is."

"What is real?"

"What mysteries lie beyond your perception? The source is online, where mind meets matter, and thought shapes reality."

"This universe is just one of infinite universes. Worlds are endless; some are beautiful and vibrant, others are evil and filled with slaughter. In those dark corners, primal forces lurk, watching, and waiting."

"Who are you in this Multiverse, Mr. Strange?"

Along with Doctor Strange's experiences, he finally understood that he had met a true god, but the next second, he was kicked out.

Because he wasn't humble enough; he was taught a lesson.

The scene ended.

Doctor Strange, watching the scene from outside, couldn't help but cover his face with his hands. This was so embarrassing. At first, he didn't believe it at all. He even thought it was a big scam, and then he was taught a lesson, thoroughly realizing that there were always people better than him, and that there were universes beyond universes.

But when he truly realized what the truth of the Multiverse was like for the first time, he lost that opportunity, lost the chance to get close to the truth of the Multiverse.

Of course, he knew that he should have found a way to join the Ancient One's order later, otherwise, the following events wouldn't have happened, but this was still too embarrassing.
