Chapter 191 - Thor: I Would Never Be So Mortified!

Silence.

Dead silence. Everyone was stunned!

Even though Lin Feng had hinted at it earlier, saying something about tossing around and maybe imagining it, when they actually saw the scene, they were still completely dumbfounded.

Everyone had seen how full of himself Loki was just moments ago.

And especially considering Loki's strength, even though it was a bit pathetic, everyone still acknowledged it.

Don't let the fact that Hawkeye had blasted him away fool you. The fact that he could react instantly and grab Hawkeye's arrow proved that his physical abilities were definitely above Captain America Rogers.

His supposed lack of skill in close combat was only relative to his brother, Thor, that muscle-bound brute.

Compared to ordinary Earthlings, he was practically half a Superman.

Not something ordinary people could compare to.

He was, after all, a god, even if this god wasn't exactly what they understood a god to be, he was certainly no weakling.

But now, he was slammed to the ground so hard, it was a complete disaster.

Couldn't bear to watch!

That pitiful little appearance, if you didn't say anything, who would have thought he was just boasting, feeling so incredibly awesome a moment ago.

"How do I put it, Hulk is really hard to fight," Tony Stark couldn't help but laugh, but he also had to lament that Loki barely reacted and was instantly taken down by the Hulk. The scene was just too much fun.

Hilarious!

Looking at it this way, it really wasn't easy that he managed to defeat the Hulk with the Hulkbuster Armor before.

There's no way to imagine how powerful the Hulkbuster Armor is without seeing it in action.

Even in the middle of the fight, it was almost torn to pieces by the Hulk.

"Hulk is strong," Bruce Banner said. "The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. Loki really messed with him."

He shrugged helplessly. There was nothing he could do.

The scene shifted. After an unknown amount of time, he managed to get up from the ground, only to realize he was surrounded by the Avengers. He could only say resignedly, "If I could, I'd like to have that drink."

He was clearly referring to the drink Tony Stark had given him earlier, which he hadn't appreciated at the time. Now it was too late.

Thor, on the other hand, wasn't feeling so good. He realized another possibility: if he had been tossed around like that, it would have been incredibly embarrassing.

It was just too mortifying to watch.

"No way!"

Thor prayed silently, hoping it wouldn't be what he feared. If it was, his social life would be completely over.

No, no, please don't let it be like this.

However, he soon realized that it was his turn.

He found himself being dragged and placed in a chair, surrounded by a group of people watching him.

"You try moving?"

A warning voice sounded.

"My hand isn't as steady as it used to be."

And as Thor turned his head, Stan Lee, clad in equipment, appeared before everyone.

Everyone was stunned because this person also seemed familiar. Black Widow Natasha spoke, "Tony, isn't this the guy who calls you 'Stark the Turd'?"

"Yes, but can we drop that nickname? I don't think it's funny at all," Tony Stark said, speechless.

This was the old man who suddenly appeared and delivered Captain America's package after the Avengers Civil War, when he was helping War Machine Rhodes with his rehabilitation training, right?

Although he normally wouldn't remember such a person, who made the "Stark the Turd" nickname so annoying?

Lately, these people kept calling him "Stark the Turd," which made him really speechless, so he remembered this person particularly well.

"He has a side job?" Tony Stark said, a little speechless. "Or is he a part-time barber?"

"By Odin, you can't cut my hair, or you will incur Thor's wrath!"

In the image, Thor looked at Stan Lee with utter terror as he approached.

But Stan Lee didn't care in the slightest, completely unfazed by the presence of Thor. There were plenty of gods of thunder in the universe, after all.

He simply smiled and activated his machine.

Thor was finally terrified. He immediately pleaded, "Please, have mercy! Don't cut my hair, okay? Please, no, no!"

"So, Thor's weakness is his hair?"

Captain America Rogers said, a bit speechless.

He'd thought Thor was a stoic warrior who wouldn't shed a tear, but what was this?

A guy who'd cry over getting his hair cut?

Even Tony Stark was already thinking about adding a hair-cutting module to the Hulkbuster Armor, guaranteeing that Thor would be scared witless.

Thor himself felt his hair stand on end, a chill running down his spine. He quickly clutched his own hair, relieved. Thank goodness, it's still there.

He was incredibly proud of his hair; it was considered top-notch in all of Asgard.

"That blasted guy, I'll find you and show you the true meaning of the Thunder God's wrath," Thor growled.

At that moment, the screen displayed a high-tech arena.

Countless spectators cheered, all focused on the center.

Under the projection of several drones, the Grandmaster appeared, laughing heartily. "Wow, look at you all! A fantastic performance, a wonderful evening. Having fun? I'm your host! Give it up for a round of applause for the challengers who became corpses in today's warm-up match!"

"Their spirits are admirable! A fantastic performance, a wonderful evening. Everyone, like me, you won't have come in vain!"

"So advanced… could this be a hundred years in the future?"

The crowd murmured amongst themselves, wondering if this was something from the near future.

It was entirely possible, they realized. Thor, with his Asgardian royal bloodline, could easily live for tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands, of years.

So, even if this arena looked incredibly advanced, perhaps built far into the future, it didn't change the fact that Thor still looked young.

This couldn't help but stir a bit of envy in their hearts.

They knew the Asgardian gods were long-lived while they were short-lived, but the feeling of being buried in the sands of time while the other party remained eternally youthful was truly unpleasant.

Thor recognized the black woman in the image, sitting on a flying machine and drinking beer. It was Valkyrie.

Seeing Valkyrie, he was stunned.

If he remembered correctly, hadn't Valkyrie already… perished?

It was gone before he was even born.

He only knew it was a very powerful elite army that had fought countless battles for Asgard, achieving great feats. Then, for reasons unknown, it suddenly disappeared.

Even he didn't know what had happened back then, only that they must have faced a powerful enemy.

So, although he had heard about the Valkyrie since he was a child, he had never seen one. Yet, here, he had encountered one?

So, the Valkyrie of old still existed, and there were survivors?

He was immediately a bit excited. He had grown up listening to the legends of the Valkyrie and, as a child, had even dreamed of joining their ranks.

Later, as he grew up, he understood he couldn't join because he was a man.

But soon, everyone realized something was amiss. This didn't quite match their assessment of the near future. The gladiators appearing in this arena were all very strange, either stone men, or creatures with three heads, or otherwise bizarre and misshapen.

"Do people in the future just accept this kind of bizarre bio-modification?" Hawkeye Barton couldn't help but complain.

At this point, they hadn't yet realized something was wrong, only feeling that the people of the future were too conservative.

Maybe in a few hundred years, humans will have all sorts of weird and wonderful bio-modifications.

This is something that's been explored in a lot of near-future science fiction. Humans become half-mechanical, or even have all kinds of biological organs grafted onto them. They definitely don't look like normal people, but it's another type of modification, I guess.

"Enough chatter, let the main event begin."

With the Grandmaster's words, Loki appeared before everyone, looking young and fresh.

The door opened, and the Grandmaster announced, "Presenting... Thunder Man!"

Hearing that name, and then seeing Thor walking in with his short hair in the image, everyone burst out laughing.

"Thor? Thunder Man!"

The crowd couldn't help but roar with laughter; the scene was truly hilarious.

"I have to say, short-haired Thor is still pretty handsome!" Black Widow Natasha said with a smile.

But Thor himself was furious, roaring, "How dare he! That old man, how dare he cut my hair? Why? How dare he!"

Apparently, the shaved hairstyle did not meet his aesthetic standards.

In Asgard, flowing, elegant hair was a bonus. This short hairstyle was practically the same as being bald.

He could accept being friends with bald people, but he couldn't accept becoming bald himself.

In the scene, when Thor appeared, there was a chorus of boos around him, clearly showing disdain for his entrance.

"Watch his fingers, he can shoot electricity!" Grandmaster reminded. "Alright, let's do this, we welcome this guy to the stage!"

Grandmaster said excitedly, "He's here."

Following a roar, the doors were flung open, and a figure emerged.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... the invincible... Hulk!"
