According to the diary's pattern, anyone Lin Feng specifically mentioned and was incredibly wary of wouldn't be a simple character.
Even if not Skyfather Level, they'd be ridiculously strong.
Before they could think further, facing the Avengers' three major figures coming at him with aggressive momentum, Thanos simply sneered, "You're unwilling to accept failure. So what? You still have to face me! I thought eliminating half of the life in the universe would allow the other half to flourish. But you've proven to me that's impossible. As long as people are still clinging to the past, they'll never accept the future!"
"They will definitely resist!" Thanos couldn't help but sneer.
He already knew he'd failed in this timeline, having had his head chopped off. It was a complete failure, proving his idea was wrong. He tried to balance and give thanks to the universe, but clearly, he couldn't.
These people couldn't be grateful to him; they could only see the endless slaughter. Otherwise, they might as well have another Big Bang.
"Yes, we are that stubborn!" Tony Stark said with a cold laugh.
"Thank you!" Thanos sighed, his expression calm. "Because now, I know what I must do. I will reduce this universe to atomic dust, and then, using the Gems you've helped me find, I will create a brand new universe. A universe where life will not resent loss, but only be grateful for what is given!"
"A universe that knows gratitude!"
Captain America Rogers immediately cut Thanos off, saying, "That will also be a universe built on blood and debts!"
Thanos didn't care, simply sneering, "But they won't know any of that, because you won't live to see it!"
The information overload was immense. This brief exchange between them contained so much information that everyone was about to jump out of their skin.
Eradicating half of all life!
Half of all living beings... Even if it was just humans, over three billion people would die at Thanos's hands, not to mention all the other creatures.
Everyone was stunned. Half of all life, just like that, was going to be wiped out.
"So, he means killing half the life in the universe?" Hill said, shocked.
Compared to the tyrants throughout history, Thanos was even more terrifying. What was most terrifying was that he thought he was doing charity, doing good, and helping everyone. That was the most frightening part.
And he meant to destroy half the life in the universe, not just on Earth.
On Earth alone, there were seven to eight billion humans, not to mention the other creatures, hundreds or thousands of times more than that. If you added them all up, how many trillions would that be?
If you expanded to the entire universe, how many beings were there? They couldn't even imagine it; just calculating it would be enough to fry their brains like a CPU.
"I understand now. No wonder Lin Feng was so wary of this Purple Potato. This is too scary. That snap… is it that powerful?" Hawkeye, Barton, said. "Can it even destroy the entire universe and restart Genesis?"
"It should be using those Gems mentioned." Tony Stark paused, then said, "It's clear they've fought once before. We won't be facing this Purple Potato for the first time in the future. The first time, the Purple Potato succeeded, probably taking away half the life in the universe. But we didn't give up, we looked for the Gems, and then used these Gems, which we don't know what they are, to seemingly reverse and change everything. Thanos also knew, and wanted to seize these Gems, so that's why there was this second battle. He even wants to use these Gems to kill the entire universe and start the universe over again. Obviously, he's no longer satisfied with just killing half the life in the entire universe."
"It's even possible that the three of us are the last three people of the entire Avengers. Because we've fought to this point, at a critical moment, but we don't see anyone else coming to help. This means we may have no reinforcements. And, perhaps, the entire Earth has been slaughtered by Thanos, so what we see is the ruins everywhere." Tony Stark delivered a chilling conclusion.
No wonder Lin Feng was so strong; even he, a non-human, was so wary. Thanos succeeded, and he's going to restart the entire universe, or at the very least, wipe out half the life on Earth.
They couldn't concern themselves with the entire universe; the potential slaughter on Earth alone was enough to make them breathless.
"So, what are those Gems?" Nick Fury asked. "They're obviously very important."
"I think I know what they are, or at least, I know some of their colors..." Tony Stark said. With a snap of his fingers, a screenshot appeared before everyone.
The screenshot was from the previous video, of Tony Stark snapping his fingers and dying.
"Take a look at this screenshot..." Tony Stark said.
Everyone looked at the screenshot of Tony Stark.
"Look at the armor. It's a bit damaged, but the armor I was wearing when I snapped my fingers and died is clearly the same model as the one I wore during the battle against the Purple Potato. Given my habit of not building the same armor twice, this should be the same suit," Tony Stark explained.
Each suit of armor was expensive, and the more new technology incorporated, the more staggering the price.
So, even someone as wealthy as Tony Stark wouldn't choose to build multiple identical suits of armor.
Instead, he'd build one of each generation, and while the technological differences between each generation might not be huge, they wouldn't be exactly the same.
Everyone nodded, agreeing with his assessment.
"So, I can probably assume it's the same battle, with over an eighty percent chance," Tony Stark said. "Which means, after this fight, I'm going to die!"
Silence fell over the group at this, seeing Tony Stark so calmly analyze his own death. Their feelings were, to say the least, complicated.
Especially for Nick Fury, this was a very difficult situation to accept. Although his initial goal in forming the Avengers was this: I might not be able to stop you from destroying the Earth and killing humanity, but I can avenge them and send a message to the entire universe that humanity is not to be trifled with.
This was the thought he'd had after encountering the Skrulls.
Because ever since he knew that aliens were real, he'd been considering how to defend against them, but there was almost no chance. Every alien race that came to Earth would definitely be far superior to humans.
So, there's only one way: revenge!
They definitely couldn't win overall, but a smaller-scale fight was another matter.
However, that wasn't what he truly wanted. Everything was destroyed, Earth was gone, and humanity was finished. What was the point of revenge then?
He didn't know what Thanos's method for eliminating half the universe's life was. Did he brutally wipe out planets one by one, or did he have some other, unknown method?
He also didn't know what it took to restart the universe; it was unimaginable.
"And in this picture, these lights in my hand may be the so-called Gems that Thanos spoke of. That is to say, even someone as strong as Lin Feng's Skyfather Level might not be able to restart the universe. But if you use these Gems, it's possible. Although we still don't know what these Gems are, they're obviously some kind of artifact or treasure of heaven and earth. You know, like in those fantasy novels? Similar settings, like the Lord of the Rings, where you can become king by obtaining one, or the Philosopher's Stone, where you can become immortal? Turn lead into gold? Of course, these stones seem even more ridiculous, as they can actually restart the universe." Tony Stark said. "This thing is really a bit out there, but we have too little information right now to know what it is. But I suddenly had another idea, guys."
"What?" Black Widow Natasha asked.
"Before, that magician, Doctor Strange, once told Spider-Man that they had disappeared for five years, right?" Tony Stark said. "Is it possible that this is it? It is known that before this battle, the Avengers had a fight with Thanos. The result of the fight was probably very tragic. In the end, only the three of us were left, the so-called three giants of the Avengers that Lin Feng mentioned, including you, Clint, and Banner. Everyone was gone, and that might even have included Doctor Strange, and even half the life in the universe. But later, the three of us spent five years looking for a way to revive everyone, and we found these stones, and then used these stones to eliminate Thanos and bring everyone back.
After all, Thanos said those stones could reset the entire universe. Maybe they could even bring everyone back to life? It's just a guess, but it's not impossible. We still don't know all the stones' capabilities, right?
And the price might be my death. Or maybe I was already close to dying, and this final push was it. It fits the heroic death of a superhero, and then Earth returns to normal. It's like a typical Hollywood blockbuster, and now it's time for the happy ending, the whole "family" thing. Yeah, that sounds pretty good!"
